Landon Lynn was simply too far away—there was no way he could stop Kade Santos from making his move. At this moment, Lexi Lynn finally realized that if things kept going like this, she would definitely die.
But it was already too late to pull back her fist and escape Kade Santos's attack range—her hand felt as if it were glued in place, impossible to break free.
To outsiders, it looked as if Lexi Lynn simply refused to let go and was determined to attack Kade Santos.
Lexi Lynn's expression changed dramatically, but Kade Santos just snorted coldly, "You forced me to do this!"
With those words, his fist shot out—but just as it was about to hit Lexi Lynn, a hand suddenly appeared, moving incredibly fast. Everyone saw a new figure appear between Kade Santos and Lexi Lynn, right beside their hands.
The newcomer smiled at Kade Santos and said, "Kade, Lexi doesn't want to play anymore, so let's not throw this punch." With that, he casually flicked away Kade's tightly clenched fist.
"You!" Kade Santos hadn't expected Evan Yang to intercept his punch.
Lexi Lynn was also shocked to see Evan Yang appear at this moment. Even Kade's personal bodyguard hadn't expected it—he rushed over, glaring at Evan and barking, "Let go!"
Evan Yang released Kade Santos's hand and smiled, "Kade, Lexi Lynn was a bit out of line today, but she was just caught up in the moment. You're a generous person—let's let it go."
Kade Santos hadn't expected Evan Yang to show up, let alone move so fast that he could save someone before the punch landed. He was stunned—his punch had been powerful, but Evan had blocked it easily.
Truthfully, Evan Yang was surprised too—Kade Santos's punch was incredibly strong. If Evan's body weren't so special, his hand would have been broken by now.
Kade Santos wanted to say something, but suddenly Landon Lynn snorted coldly and stepped out from the crowd, "Santos, why didn't you listen to me earlier?"
Just then, Ronald Santos also stepped forward. "Landon, I saw what happened. It wasn't that my son refused to stop—it was your daughter who kept attacking him. Are you saying you'd only be happy if my child died?"
No one expected Ronald Santos and Landon Lynn to run into each other here.
The moment they met, their eyes locked and sparks flew.
Evan Yang finally laughed, "It's fine, it's fine—Lexi Lynn was just messing around. Let's all disperse, and Kade, Ronald, you should head out too."
With that, he pulled the stunned Lexi Lynn over to Landon Lynn's side.
Landon Lynn heard Evan Yang's words and understood he didn't want to escalate things. It was clear Lexi Lynn had started the trouble, so Landon snorted, "This isn't how you play." With a flash, he whisked Lexi away.
Evan Yang smiled at Kade Santos and Ronald Santos, then left.
"Damn it!" Kade Santos growled, furious that someone had rescued Lexi Lynn right under his nose.
"Let's go." Ronald Santos showed no emotion and simply dragged Kade Santos away.
Back at the inn, Ronald Santos said, "How could you be so reckless just now!"
"Dad, even you're blaming me?" Kade Santos asked, confused.
"I'm talking about that punch—if you'd landed it on the Lynn girl, she'd either be dead or seriously injured!" Ronald Santos frowned.
"Wouldn't that be better? The Lynn Family and the Shaw Family are way too close." Kade Santos replied.
"What if she died? Do you know what would happen? She's the Lynn Family's lifeblood. If she died, Landon Lynn would definitely drag you down with her." Ronald Santos criticized.
"She'd deserve it—even if they complained to the Old Man of Northridge, we'd still be in the right." Kade Santos didn't see any issue with his actions.
"It seems you still don't understand Landon Lynn. Everyone knows how much he dotes on his daughter. If you accidentally killed her, even the Old Man of Northridge might be powerless to stop him!" Ronald Santos replied.
"Is he going to challenge the Three Palaces?" Kade Santos sneered.
"The Three Palaces can't control everything. If he wanted, he could just kill you and then disappear, living as a recluse." Ronald Santos replied.
Ronald's words made Kade Santos realize he had a point. The Three Palaces might be powerful, but no one could predict where Landon Lynn would hide—unless he was discovered.
"Doesn't the Three Palaces worry about someone killing the Star Lord and then hiding away?" Kade Santos was still unwilling to accept it.
"The Star Lord is a different matter! Get it? We're not part of the Three Palaces—their people have no authority over us, unless Landon Lynn is stupid enough to kill the Old Man of Northridge. Only then would it be possible." Ronald Santos sneered, thinking Kade was naive.
After Ronald Santos explained everything, Kade Santos finally realized how weak he was. But he snorted, "Then we'll become the Star Lord of Northridge Star. Let's see how the Lynn Family deals with us then!"
"That won't be decided until half a year from now. For now, focus on winning the tournament." Ronald Santos said helplessly.
"No matter what, we must become Star Lord. Then I'll make both the Shaw Family and the Lynn Family pay!" Kade Santos snorted.
"Good, just remember—not before then. Don't try to kill them again, or you'll bring even more trouble before the half-year is up." Ronald Santos cautioned after hearing Kade's words.
Kade Santos nodded, but deep down, there was someone he absolutely had to eliminate—Evan Yang. Today's encounter left a mark he'd never forget.
After Ronald finished his advice, he left Kade Santos's room. Then Kade's personal bodyguard stepped forward, "I want to challenge him."
"You can't expose yourself yet, and he's not simple. Let the assassins test him first." Today, Kade Santos had already marked Evan Yang as his main target—Evan's easy interception of that punch had left him deeply shaken.
"He's very strong," the bodyguard said.
"Yeah, I know. So when we deal with him in the future, we'll have to use special methods." Kade Santos said, eyes full of malice.
Evan Yang had no idea how much Kade Santos now hated him. At this moment, he was discussing the recent events with Lexi Lynn, Landon Lynn, Cyril Shaw, and Tanner Xiao at the Shaw Family estate.
Throughout the conversation, Lexi Lynn remained unusually quiet—completely different from her usual self.

Everyone thought Lexi Lynn was just frightened, but only she knew—if Evan Yang hadn't shown up today, she'd already be dead. She'd always been prejudiced against Evan, but now that was gone. Instead, she felt grateful, and didn't know how to express it.
"Miss Lynn, are you alright?" Tanner Xiao asked, worried after seeing Lexi Lynn's strange expression.
Landon Lynn and Tanner Xiao exchanged a glance, then took Evan Yang and left for the rear garden.
"Kid, I don't even know how to thank you. If it weren't for you today, my daughter would have fallen victim to that Santos brat's scheme." Landon Lynn said to Evan Yang in the garden, full of gratitude.
"You're too kind, Patriarch Lynn. I just happened to be passing by and was able to help in time." Evan Yang replied with a smile.
"You're being modest. Listen—no matter what you need in the future, the Lynn Family will support you!" Landon Lynn promised, knowing Evan's rescue wasn't a simple favor.
Evan Yang and Cyril Xiao were both shocked—neither expected Landon Lynn to make such a promise.
But it made sense. With only one daughter, any accident would be devastating—just like Cyril Xiao felt when Evan saved Tanner's life. That gratitude prompted him to speak from the heart.
In this way, Evan Yang instantly earned the deep gratitude of both the Lynn Family and the Shaw Family.
Meanwhile, in the main hall, Lexi Lynn said to Tanner Xiao, "I really have to thank your friend today. Otherwise, I wouldn't even be here to see you." She gently touched Tanner's hand.
Tanner Xiao didn't know how to react, quickly withdrawing his hand and laughing, "Exactly. He saved my life too."
"That's perfect—now we both owe him our lives." Lexi Lynn joked with Tanner Xiao.
Tanner Xiao was flustered, awkwardly replying, "Maybe you should go home. I'm worried you'll get into trouble again, and if my dad isn't around, you'll have to rely on your own family."
"No, I'm not going back. From today on, I'm staying with you—here, with your family—until you're fully recovered. As for my safety, don't worry. As long as I don't cause trouble, no one will dare touch me. Besides, with such a powerful friend here, I'm happy to stay with you all." Lexi Lynn's gloomy mood gradually lifted as she spoke.
At this moment, Tanner Xiao didn't know whether to thank Evan Yang for saving Lexi's life, or wish she'd been injured instead—after all, Evan was so capable, he could always save her again.
If everyone knew what Tanner Xiao was thinking, they'd definitely skin him alive.
So the two kept chatting about this and that. No matter how Tanner Xiao tried to persuade her, Lexi Lynn refused to go home. That night, Cyril Xiao had the servants prepare a banquet so the Lynn Family could properly thank Evan Yang.
At the banquet table, the usually quiet Lexi Lynn finally raised her glass, "Thanks, Brother Evan. If not for you, I don't even know where I'd be now."
Evan Yang didn't expect Lexi Lynn, who always opposed him, to act this way. But since she was being so sincere, he raised his glass and smiled, "It was nothing."
Seeing his daughter getting along with Evan Yang at last, Landon Lynn was overjoyed. The last thing he wanted was for Lexi Lynn to provoke Evan, since Evan had already exceeded both his and Cyril Xiao's expectations—they couldn't even tell if Evan was a true genius, and the Genius Pavilion would surely invite him someday.
"I've offended you so many times before—I'll punish myself with another drink." Lexi Lynn took another glass and downed it.
Evan Yang could only helplessly drink with her. As for Tanner Xiao, he looked gloomy—he knew he could never get Lexi Lynn to leave, so he could only hope Evan would help share the burden in the future.
Evan Yang had no idea what Tanner Xiao was thinking. Instead, his mind wandered to the veiled woman who'd accompanied Lexi Lynn that day. He and Lexi hadn't been close before, so she wouldn't have answered him, but now he really wanted to ask who that woman was.
But with so many people around, Evan Yang had to hold back, planning to ask Lexi Lynn privately another time.
And so, everyone finished the banquet happily, sending Landon Lynn off, while Lexi Lynn stayed behind, pestering Tanner Xiao to chat.
