Light Attribute Invisibility

Yvonne Xuan and Serena Frost accepted the bead from Evan Lin, examining it closely. "This has to be a light bead, right? It's the first time I've ever seen one," Yvonne mused aloud. "But I have no idea what it's actually for."

"I don't really know either," Evan replied, "but since it's so rare, it might be worth keeping as a collectible. The next wave of monsters will definitely be fiercer, so you two need to be careful. There's a good chance they'll unleash a light domain, so you'd better retreat a few hundred meters now—otherwise, once the domain unfolds, you won't be able to resist it." His tone was utterly serious.

"How wide is the domain? Where should we fall back to?" Serena Frost asked.

"It shouldn't be too huge—if you move back a few hundred meters, that should be enough. Honestly, the farther the better. If you get caught inside, you won't be able to withstand it," Evan said, glancing at both women.

Just then, the light element molecules in the air rippled again. In front of the group, ten humanoid light monsters materialized—each one snow-white from hair to skin, so pale it was almost frightening, and standing nearly two meters tall.

Yvonne, Serena, Goldwing, and Shadow all retreated swiftly, leaving Evan as the only one standing his ground. He studied the light monsters intently, still frustrated—he had no idea what the true light attribute here actually was.

One of the light monsters suddenly spoke. "Human, why have you slaughtered so many of my Light Elf kin? Our Light Elf race has always loved peace, yet you strike us down so ruthlessly. Do you really think the Light Elves are so easy to bully?"

Evan blinked. "You can speak human language? Not bad, not bad! But I didn't bully you—if anything, you bullied us first. The moment I entered this light space, you all attacked us. If you're so peace-loving, why not call a truce? Honestly, I hate fighting and killing too." Of course, inside, his Chaos Immortal Force was already surging, ready to unleash Star-Cleave stacked with Unicorn Arm at any moment.

All the while, Evan's Chaos Immortal Force was whirling madly in his body, ready to trigger Star-Cleave with Unicorn Arm at a moment's notice. At his current realm, he could use Unicorn Arm freely—though it left him weak for a bit, he'd recover quickly.

"It's too late! You've killed far too many of our people. There's no way we could ever make peace with you now! Today, human, you'll learn that the Light Elves are not to be trifled with!" the light monster snapped.

"You think you can push me around? Who do you take me for, some soft persimmon?" Evan Lin roared, his Frostbane Divine Sword erupting with blinding light. In an instant, he unleashed a devastating Star-Cleave, stacked with Unicorn Arm, sending a massive wave of sword-qi hurtling toward his enemies.

Evan never hesitated to attack—this was just his style. The light monsters were early- to mid-stage Immortal Emperor level, with the one who spoke probably mid-stage. But with Evan's overwhelming power, they simply couldn't withstand his assault.

His first strike instantly cut down four light monsters and seriously wounded two more. Energy storms erupted in the air, scattering light particles in every direction. Just like the dark monsters before, the slain light monsters vanished on the spot—no blood, no bodies, no trace left behind.

Evan had fought plenty of energy-construct monsters before—no blood, no souls, and who knew if they even felt pain. All he could do now was kill them as fast as possible, or force them to use their light domain so he could finally figure out what the light attribute really was—and come up with a way to counter it.

He was sure these light monsters could fuse together just like the dark monsters. The fewer left alive, the weaker the fused boss would be. If too many survived, the fusion would reach mid- or even late-stage Immortal Emperor strength.

He unleashed another Star-Cleave at one of the light monsters, but the survivors immediately counterattacked. Their white longswords flared with dazzling radiance, and their sword-qi was so fierce it made the entire space tremble.

Evan didn't dare get careless—he attacked while dodging at top speed. After several Star-Cleaves, he finally managed to kill another, but not without getting wounded himself. To his shock, the light monsters' sword-qi sliced through his body defenses as if they were nothing.

Now only five were left—two badly injured, three untouched. The speaking Light Elf suddenly switched to a strange language Evan couldn't understand; it had to be their own racial tongue.

Evan realized they were about to fuse, but it was too late to kill more. "Yvonne, fall back even farther!" he shouted urgently.

Just as Evan had predicted, the five remaining monsters vanished in an instant, and the space around him rippled violently. Moments later, a humanoid giant nearly five meters tall appeared before him.

"Lowly human, today you'll learn the true power of the Light Elves!" the giant sneered.

But as soon as the words left its mouth, the giant's body vanished into thin air—gone without a trace. Evan was briefly stunned, as if the monster had turned back into pure light particles, but he knew it couldn't be that simple. There was only one explanation: it had gone invisible.

He remembered facing similar tricks from the Flame Spider and Mystic Ice Toad before. Now, a rush of excitement surged in his heart—the light element's attribute here was invisibility! If that was really the case, it was absolutely heaven-defying.

Just imagine—if you could instantly vanish with the light element and strike right in front of an enemy, you could assassinate even a late-stage Immortal Emperor in a heartbeat! Or, if a gorgeous beauty was bathing, you could sneak up and watch her from point-blank range—just thinking about it was thrilling.

Or maybe you'd reach out and touch her—maybe that lush, forbidden spot—while she had no idea anyone was there. The instant she realized she'd been groped, she'd be totally shocked. For a cold beauty like Serena Frost, this was the perfect way to mess with her.

Right now, Evan was itching to get his hands on the Light Spirit Pearl and master Light Transformation—but first, he had to kill this invisible monster. Getting the Light Spirit Pearl was going to be anything but easy.

With the enemy invisible and able to strike at any moment, Evan didn't dare relax for a second. He expanded his soul sense to the limit, searching for the tiniest fluctuations in the surrounding energy. If the monster wanted to attack, it would have to move—and movement meant energy ripples.

Sure enough, movement created ripples. Evan finally sensed a faint disturbance in the space—the monster was creeping closer, and now it was only about five meters away...
