"Are you nuts? You want to talk about this now?" Ryan Ling nearly jumped up. He'd already been worried Angie Chen might suddenly blurt something out, and the atmosphere was awkward enough as it was—but now, out of nowhere, the System decided to stir up trouble too.
"I'm doing this for your own good! This is a golden opportunity—cultivators aren't supposed to overthink things. You've already stepped onto the path, so everything should be about cultivation, got it?" The System couldn't help but lecture him.
"But..." The System's words made Ryan hesitate. At this moment, Angie Chen was completely in his arms—honestly, she was a total knockout. With her clinging to him like this, pretending he could resist was just lying to himself.
"No buts! This is the perfect chance—hurry up and absorb it, or you'll regret it forever!" The System grew anxious and urged him on.
Ryan swallowed hard, his hand unconsciously landing on Angie Chen's back.
Angie Chen was incredibly sensitive—she instantly noticed Ryan's change and hugged him even tighter, her body pressed completely against his.
Outside, thunder rumbled and rain poured down, while inside, the atmosphere had already grown insanely charged.
"Master Ling, your heart's beating so fast!" Angie Chen suddenly said shyly, and even gave her hips a little wiggle—her rich-girl teasing was way too obvious.
Hesitation, tangled thoughts, and overwhelming desire all threatened to break loose at that moment.
Ryan wasn't a saint—and he'd never actually tasted a woman before—so his breathing instantly grew ragged.
At that moment, Angie Chen's small hands started roaming across Ryan's back. She knew exactly what he was thinking—just one last barrier left to break.
Boom! A thunderclap shook the room!
It sounded like the thunder exploded right next to their ears. Angie Chen screamed in fright, and Ryan instinctively hugged her tight—before they knew it, they'd rolled onto the bed together.
The awkwardness grew even thicker; both of them blushed as they looked at each other. Maybe it was the thunder, but Angie Chen seemed extra shy today—her expression totally ignited Ryan's desire to claim her.
And then, to everyone's surprise, that thunderclap seemed to shatter something in the room—a cloud of red smoke rose up. Ryan stared, spotting a bottle on the floor with the faint character 'spring' on it.
In an instant, Ryan was totally stunned—his blood was pumping like crazy. He never expected Manager Ge to be into this kind of thing, and now he and Angie Chen had just inhaled a whole bottle's worth.
Angie Chen already had a pretty high demand in that area; her cheeks turned scarlet, even her hair seemed to crackle with excitement. Her long legs locked around Ryan—clearly, she wasn't letting him go tonight.
Ryan's mind went completely blank. This really was a gift from heaven—staring at the wild Angie Chen, he couldn't hold back anymore and kissed her fiercely.
They both went wild in an instant.
Angie Chen was an absolute pro at kissing—wild and untamed. Ryan's beastly instincts took over, and the two of them tore at each other's clothes like crazed animals.
...
"Little Feng, are you in there?" But right at the most critical moment, Lily Liu's voice sounded from outside—Ryan nearly lost half his soul in shock.
But Angie Chen was so out of it from all the touching, her legs still locked tightly around Ryan.
"Little Feng, are you inside?" Lily Liu clearly heard something and started walking in.
No way—Lily Liu absolutely can't see this, or he'd never be able to explain it, even with ten mouths.
"Angie Chen, snap out of it! Someone's coming, someone's coming!" Ryan said, then pinched Angie Chen's thigh hard.
Angie Chen jolted in shock, instinctively wanting to scream—but Ryan quickly clamped a hand over her mouth. He'd pinched her so hard that she broke out in a cold sweat, and at the same time, most of the drug's effect wore off.
"Miss Angie, are you in there too?" Even though Ryan was covering Angie Chen's mouth, Lily Liu still heard her voice.
"Hurry up and get dressed, hurry!" Ryan panicked. He finished dressing quickly, but Angie Chen was still dawdling. Lily Liu was clearly outside now—Ryan could hear her footsteps approaching, so he had no choice but to rush out first.
"Sis, what are you doing here? It's pouring outside!" Ryan dashed out and sure enough, saw Lily Liu standing right at the door.
"What were you doing in there? You took forever!" Lily Liu stared at Ryan, her cheeks actually a little flushed.
"Nothing, the thunder was just too loud. Angie was scared, so I brought her into Manager Ge's room to take shelter for a bit!" Ryan explained. Angie Chen finally finished getting ready and came out behind Ryan. Seeing Lily Liu's suspicious look, she quickly scratched her head and said, "Sis Sweet, you're here!"
"Miss Angie, you're afraid of thunder? How about I keep you company—I have a special cure for thunder phobia!" Lily Liu said, pushing Ryan aside and pulling Angie Chen back into the room. Then she turned to glare at Ryan: "Little Feng, there's no one outside, go watch the front in case anything gets stolen! Go!"
"Okay!" Ryan nodded, suddenly suspecting Lily Liu might've figured something out.
He shivered a little, but seeing the two women chatting and laughing as they walked away, Ryan finally headed outside.
By now, the rain was easing up, but Ryan's heart was still pounding like a drum.
"What a shame—Lily Liu ruined it at the worst possible moment!" The System, like it'd been spectating the whole time, suddenly popped up like a ghost.
"Boss, can you not scare me like that?" Ryan shot him a glare.
"Look at you, acting all timid! You're already on the path, you've transformed—you're not a mortal anymore, so why freak out over women?" The System scoffed.
"What do you know, you dumb System!" Honestly, at that moment, Ryan had been ready to go all the way with Angie Chen, but Lily Liu's sudden appearance totally panicked him—even more than if Sophie Su had barged in.
The reason was simple: ever since Ryan was a kid, Lily Liu had taken care of him. After his parents died in a car accident, Lily pretty much became his second mom—and she loved to lecture him seriously. So besides deep family affection, Ryan also felt a kind of awe toward her that he didn't have for anyone else.
"Forget it, forget it—if it didn't happen, maybe it was fate. But hey, even though you missed out this time, you still gained a lot. Are you feeling a stream of energy moving inside you?" The System chimed in again.
"I think I do!" Ryan nodded quickly after the System reminded him.
"Focus on understanding that energy. It'll help you break through the second layer of the Purgatory Soul-Suppressing Art, and the second form of the Infernal Madblade—'Soul-Severing!'" the System urged.
"Got it, I'll work on it!" Ryan replied. Just then, Lily Liu led Angie Chen back out; the two were still chatting and laughing, though Angie seemed a bit embarrassed.
"Little Feng, you stay here and keep watch. I'm taking Miss Angie back—she's tired, and we can't have a provincial VIP like her hanging around too long. Plus, she's already taught Yvonne Su a harsh lesson, so I expect the Pill Hall will retaliate soon!" Lily Liu said, getting ready to leave with Angie Chen.
Ryan nodded quickly—Lily Liu was absolutely right. Still, he couldn't shake the feeling she was deliberately splitting them up. Angie Chen clearly didn't want to leave, but with Lily holding her, she couldn't break free.
But just then, several souped-up off-road vehicles roared up nearby—the engines were definitely modified, and even before the people showed up, their voices were already shouting.
"Deputy Hall Masters, this is the place—Angie Chen, that bitch, is definitely still inside..."
