Sakura Yamaguchi didn’t pause her work, her tone indifferent: “Jason really is a disappointment—getting caught by two rookie cops. He must’ve gotten too comfortable and let his guard down.”
“Miss Sakura is absolutely right. He’s been spoiled by an easy life.” Sam, the tall white subordinate, chimed in. “But Jason’s being sent off to a mining planet tomorrow. I hope Miss Sakura might plead for him, for the sake of his years of loyalty.”
Sakura Yamaguchi’s hands paused for a moment. She replied coldly, “Save him? The fact that I haven’t punished him is already mercy. His stupidity brought trouble to Red Sun, and even forced us to delay our plans.”
“But… won’t this chill the hearts of our people?” Sam asked hesitantly.
“Are you threatening me?”
Sakura Yamaguchi suddenly turned, her gaze fierce as she stared down Sam.
Under her piercing stare, the burly Sam couldn’t help but shrink back, panic written all over his face. “Miss Sakura, I didn’t mean it like that!”
Sakura Yamaguchi slowly withdrew her gaze, her tone softening a little. “Remember, I don’t need you telling me how to handle things. Got it?”
“Yes, yes, I understand.” Sam nodded repeatedly.
“Good. Give those two rookie cops a lesson. If they want to step on Red Sun to rise up, they’ll have to pay the price.”
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Their fists collided mid-air, and a massive force slammed into Leo Li’s arm, shattering it to pieces. The attacker’s fist didn’t slow at all, crashing straight into his chest.
Crack! Crack!
Blinding pain shot through him. Leo Li realized not only was his entire arm pulverized, but two of his ribs were broken as well.
But the attacker didn’t stop there—he grabbed Leo Li by the neck and lifted him straight off the ground.
Bang!
Leo Li’s body slammed hard into the pavement, instantly spiderweb cracks spread across the ground.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
The attacker stomped down again and again, the crisp sound of bones snapping rang out—both of Leo Li’s leg bones were shattered on the spot. The agony was too much, and he finally blacked out.
Everything happened so fast that it was only when Leo Li lost consciousness that his wife and parents realized what was happening, and rushed to his side.
