Dismissal

"Mayor Liang, what brings you here?" Ian Song asked calmly. In Ian's view, Victor Liang was one of the few decent officials around.

"How could I not come? You Special Police are practically causing a disaster!"

Victor Liang snapped, "Landon, let me ask you—did your Special Police really arrest those three young men from the Tian, Sun, and Jiang families today?"

"No, none of my subordinates arrested them," Ian Song replied.

Victor Liang grew even more annoyed. "Are you still playing dumb with me? Let me be clear—those three have powerful backgrounds. Go and release them now!"

Ian Song replied, "Mayor Liang, you really misunderstood. Those three bastards weren't arrested by my men—they were arrested by me personally!"

Victor Liang was stunned, then shouted in exasperation, "I don't care who arrested them—just release them now!"

"Mayor Liang, don't you want to know why I arrested them?" Ian's voice turned serious.

Victor Liang fell silent for a moment, then said helplessly, "Landon, no matter what they've done, their backgrounds are just too powerful. This incident has already alarmed Commander Titus Lou—he's on his way here with the Guard Regiment. If they're still locked up when he arrives, you'll be in trouble, and so will I."

"Doesn't matter who comes—I won't release them!" Ian shook his head.

Victor Liang tried to reason with him: "Landon, why are you so stubborn? Even if you don't release them now, when Commander Titus Lou arrives with his men, they'll still be set free. Since it's inevitable, why not just let them go now?"

"Mayor Liang, you don't need to say any more. Bottom line—if I'm here, those three bastards aren't getting out!" Ian Song said, cutting off any further argument.

After trying everything, Victor Liang lost his temper and barked, "Landon Lu, you really are stubborn to the core! Fine, if you won't release them, then you're done as Special Police Minister. As Mayor of Mesa City, I officially suspend you!"

Victor Liang immediately pointed at Gordon Gao. "Gordon, you're now acting Special Police Minister. Go and release them—take your men and do it now!"

"Uh... I..." Gordon Gao hesitated, uncertainty showing on his face.

"What? Are you planning to defy orders too?" Victor Liang's eyes flashed coldly.

"Yes, sir!"

Gordon Gao gritted his teeth and nodded.

"Wait, I'll go with you," Victor Liang said.

Soon, Gordon Gao led Victor Liang to the cell where Jason Chen, Tom Sun, and Jerry Jiang were being held.

"Open the door!" Victor Liang barked.

"Yes, sir!"

The jailer hurriedly took out the key and unlocked the cell.

Victor Liang stepped inside first, speaking politely, "Gentlemen, I am Victor Liang, Mayor of Mesa City. I've come to let you out."

Seeing the mayor treat these three guys so deferentially, the jailer's heart skipped a beat—he realized things were bad. He'd shocked Tom Sun earlier; if Tom wanted revenge...

At that thought, his anxiety only grew.

"So it's Mayor Liang. I've heard a lot about you," Jason Chen said coolly.

"I wouldn't dare, gentlemen. Perhaps we could talk outside?" Victor Liang asked carefully. He knew these three were heirs to some of the Federation Empire's most famous families—far out of his league.

"Mayor Liang, have you ever heard this saying?" Jason Chen looked at Victor.

"Please, go ahead."

"Inviting gods is easy; sending them away is hard," Jason Chen said slowly.

Victor Liang felt a chill and asked anxiously, "So, what do you three plan to do?"

"You—come here."

Tom Sun suddenly spotted the prison guard lingering at the cell door, avoiding eye contact.

"What do you want?" the jailer asked, instinctively stepping back.

Tom Sun sneered, "Liang, make him come here!" he ordered Victor Liang bluntly.

"Come here," Victor Liang beckoned to the jailer.

Hearing the mayor, the jailer reluctantly entered the cell.

The jailer didn’t want to go, but he still stepped into the cell.

Smack! Tom Sun swung a heavy slap at the jailer's face, sending him crashing into the alloy wall. Blood and teeth spilled as he hit the ground.

"What are you doing?"

Gordon Gao couldn't stand it and shouted, "What do you think you're doing?"

Tom Sun sneered, "Get out of my way!"

Tom Sun shoved Gordon Gao aside, then strode up to the jailer, stomping on his chest. Sneering, he said, "Weren't you pretty tough just now? Let's see you act tough again!"

The jailer stayed silent, but his eyes burned with hatred.

"What, not satisfied?"

Seeing his expression, Tom Sun grinned wickedly: "People like you—killing you would be easier than squashing an ant. You dared to shock me, huh? You like electricity? Fine, I'll let you have plenty!"

At Tom Sun's command, the chips were removed from Jason Chen, Tom Sun, and Jerry Jiang, and all implanted into the jailer.

Grinning, Tom Sun pressed 1-2-3 on the remote. Electricity crackled over the jailer's body, and he cried out before collapsing, unconscious.

Victor Liang looked at the jailer with pity, then stepped forward and asked, "Haven't you vented enough? Maybe we should leave now."

Tom Sun sneered, "Enough? Not even close. You want us out? Fine—bring in the bastard who arrested us and have him kneel and beg. If we're satisfied, maybe we'll leave."

Victor Liang's face darkened. "Gentlemen, that's enough. With your status, why stoop to this?"

Smack!

Tom Sun slapped Victor Liang across the face, sneering, "Who do you think you are, lecturing me? I could get you fired as mayor with a single word!"

Victor Liang clutched his cheek in disbelief. Even knowing Tom Sun's status, anger surged inside him, and he almost walked out.

But he knew he couldn't leave—if he did, he'd lose his job as mayor for sure.

So he took a deep breath and pleaded, "Gentlemen, I'm begging you—please just leave!"

"Damn it! Are you deaf or something? If you want us out, bring in the bastard who arrested us and make him kneel!" Tom Sun roared at Victor Liang, then pressed the remote again, sending another jolt through the jailer's body.

Watching the jailer's convulsing body, Tom Sun let out a twisted laugh.
