The Guard Regiment mobilized with lightning speed. In no time, ranks of armored military vehicles soared into the sky, roaring toward Mesa City.
Jason Chen, Tom Sun, and Jerry Jiang were locked up together in one cell. The black-clad bodyguard was held alone, while the three female companions were placed in another cell.
Jason Chen and Tom Sun, who had been unconscious, soon woke up one after another.
"Mayor Liang, Mesa City must have a death wish!" Titus Lou's sneer dripped with contempt.
Tom Sun, the most hot-tempered of the group, started yelling furiously, "Hey! Somebody get in here for me!"
Titus Lou let out a harsh, mocking laugh. "Can't understand? Then let me spell it out for you—your Special Police just arrested people no one in their right mind would dare touch!"
A jailer came over, scolding him with a foul mood.
Hearing this, Tom Sun nearly lost his mind with rage. He roared, "Damn it! How dare some lowly jailer yell at me? Do you even know who I am?"
"I don't care who you are. Just one thing: behave yourself, or don't blame me for making you suffer!" the jailer said with a look of contempt.
"Damn it, you really think I can't kill you!" Tom Sun cursed, pointing at the jailer.
Snap!
When the call cut off with a sharp click, Victor Liang drew in a breath, forcing a bitter smile. "We're in deep trouble now—the Special Police actually went and arrested heirs from all three clans!"
"You two, if you don't want to end up like him, you'd better behave!"
After warning Jason Chen and Jerry Jiang, the jailer swaggered off, leaving both of them with the bitter feeling of 'a tiger fallen to the flatlands, bullied by dogs.'
It took nearly ten minutes before Tom Sun stopped twitching and finally recovered. His hair stood on end, his skin had a faintly charred look—he really did seem like he'd been struck by lightning.
"That bastard! When I get out, I'm definitely going to kill him—no, just killing him is too easy. I'm going to make him suffer, slowly!" Tom Sun smashed his fist against the wall, snarling viciously.
"Chen, what should we do now?" Jerry Jiang ignored Tom Sun's outburst and turned to Jason Chen.
Gordon Gao, trailing behind Ian Song, saw Victor Liang and couldn't help but give a rueful smile. "Here comes the man with a score to settle. I just hope the minister can survive this storm!"
Jerry Jiang said seriously, "But we're all in his hands right now. Even if we want revenge, we have to get out first."
"Relax. I've already sent word to the Tian Clan. Someone will be here to rescue us soon!"
Aries District, military headquarters building.
As the top military commander of the Aries District, Titus Lou had the privilege of placing his office on any floor of the headquarters.
He liked the feeling of looking down on people from above, so he put his office on the very top floor.
Suddenly, an encrypted phone rang beside him.
Titus Lou instantly tensed up, quickly answered, and said respectfully, "Commander Tian, hello!"
Indeed, the owner of that phone number was none other than Samuel Tian, the highest-ranking military commander of the Federation Empire on this planet.
Samuel Tian and the current head of the Tian Clan are brothers, giving him great influence within the clan.
As for Titus Lou, he's just a peripheral member of the Tian Clan—otherwise he couldn't have landed the Aries District's top military post.
"Hello, Lou."
Samuel Tian's deep, distinctive voice came through the phone, making Titus Lou bow even lower, his tone growing more respectful: "Commander Tian, is there anything you wish to instruct me?"
Samuel Tian's deep voice sounded again: "We're all on the same side, so I'll be direct. My nephew Jason Chen was arrested by the Special Police in Mesa City. With him were Sun Clan's Tom Sun and Jiang Clan's Jerry Jiang. I want you to handle this!"
"What!"
Titus Lou could hardly believe it. The Mesa City Special Police actually dared arrest members of the Tian, Sun, and Jiang Clans all at once—how reckless could you get? He felt both furious and oddly impressed by whoever gave the order; that person really had a death wish.
Thinking quickly, Titus Lou promised, "Rest assured, Commander—I’ll get them out safely!"
"Good. I'll wait for your report."
Once the call ended, Titus Lou hung up and summoned his aide with utmost seriousness: "Assemble the Guard Regiment—head to Mesa City immediately!"
His Guard Regiment was leagues beyond anything the 96th Division's security company could ever match.
First, every ordinary soldier in the Guard Regiment was a Ninth-Level War General. Second, their armor was Feilong-class powered suits—two grades above the standard Black Dragon armor.
A regular guard in Feilong armor could easily defeat a War King-level expert.
Hearing Titus Lou's order, the aide was startled. Was something major happening in Mesa City? The commander himself was leading the Guard Regiment there.
The Guard Regiment assembled with astonishing speed. Soon, rows of military vehicles lifted off, heading straight for Mesa City.
Inside one of the vehicles, Titus Lou dialed the number for Mesa City's mayor, Victor Liang.
"Hello, Commander Lou. This is Victor Liang." Victor Liang's voice came through the phone, firm and composed.
"Mayor Liang, you people in Mesa City are truly bold!" Titus Lou sneered.
"Commander Lou, what do you mean by that? I don't quite understand," Victor Liang replied, puzzled.
Titus Lou laughed angrily. "Don't understand? Let me spell it out: your Mesa City Special Police have arrested some people who should never have been touched!"
"Ah—who did they arrest?" Victor Liang exclaimed.
"Members of the Tian, Jiang, and Sun Clans."
"Commander Lou, do you mean those three clans—the Tian, Jiang, and Sun families...?"
"That's right. Those three. I've said my piece—I'm already on my way to Mesa City!"
Click!
Hearing the abrupt end of the call, Victor Liang quietly drew a deep breath and gave a bitter smile. "Things have really blown up—Special Police actually arrested those three clans' heirs!"
Thinking of this, he immediately called in his secretary and told him to arrange a car to the Special Police base.
In just three minutes, Victor Liang's car landed in front of the Special Police HQ.
As soon as he stepped out, he said to the Special Police standing guard at the entrance, "Summon your minister immediately—I need to see him!"
The guard recognized Mayor Liang and snapped to attention. "Please wait a moment, Mayor. I'll go report right away!"
Soon, Ian Song emerged from the main building with Gordon Gao in tow.
Seeing Victor Liang, Gordon Gao couldn't help but give a wry smile. "The man coming to hold us accountable is here. I wonder if the minister can weather this storm!"
