Cici Experiences Pre-Labor Pain

1/4/2026

Miles Gu was lifted high into the air, and he immediately burst into happy giggles.

Cecilia Gu watched Charles Yin play with Miles for a while, then said, "Alright, alright, you just got back. Take a good rest. The baby’s eaten and should sleep now. Let’s not mess up his biological clock."

Naturally, Charles Yin didn’t object. He handed Miles Gu to Mrs. Zhang, then turned and pulled Cecilia Gu towards the bedroom.

Tonight, he had so much to say to Cecilia Gu!

He wanted to tell Cecilia Gu that he’d successfully settled the matters in Germany and Italy.

All the raw materials had been secured, and every step of the process was now perfectly organized!

In just one or two years, Summerville’s new coastline would be unveiled to the world in a completely new light.

Yin Enterprises would rise even stronger, securing a crucial position among China’s elite, and firmly establishing itself in the capital!

By then, the engagement between the Yun and Mo families would be easy for him to dissolve!

At that time, Cici would never have to worry about such things again!

Everything would take just one or two years!

Full of energy, Charles Yin pulled Cecilia Gu back to their room, eager to explain everything to her.

But before Charles could say a word, Cecilia’s face suddenly turned pale, and she shivered, leaning against him.

All the words Charles was about to say got stuck in his throat!

"Cici, what’s wrong?" Charles immediately scooped Cecilia up in his arms and rushed out, shouting, "Doctor, nurse!"

"Charles, my stomach hurts. It hurts so much!" Cecilia suddenly grabbed his shirt tightly, clutching it in her hand. "Ah, it hurts!"

Charles carried Cecilia out in a rush. The doctor and nurse heard the commotion and hurried in with their medical kit.

Charles gently placed Cecilia on the bed, his face full of worry and concern, not hiding his distress for her.

Cecilia clung tightly to Charles’s fingers, the pain in her abdomen making her unable to speak.

The pain was hard to describe.

It felt like someone had suddenly grabbed her insides—her intestines, stomach, liver, and spleen—all hurting at once.

The sudden, intense pain made cold sweat break out on Cecilia’s forehead.

The doctor and nurse, fully prepared, performed a preliminary check on Cecilia and said to Charles, "Mr. Yin, Mrs. Yin is having contractions. This is a sign of labor. We need to do further tests, please step outside for a moment."

When Cecilia heard she was about to give birth, she immediately let go and allowed the doctor and nurse to wheel her into the examination room.

The examination room was fully equipped with all necessary instruments and devices.

Charles hadn’t expected that on his very first day back, Cecilia would go into labor.

He was stunned, standing frozen in place.

Unable to control himself, he paced back and forth in the room, his mind a total mess.

He’d never realized that childbirth could be so painful.

Seeing the beads of sweat on Cecilia’s forehead, he suddenly felt lost.

He wanted this child, but even more, he wanted Cecilia to be safe and sound!

He wanted to be a father, but above all, he wanted Cecilia to be happy!

He could make decisions on trillion-dollar deals without hesitation.

But giving Cici happiness—that was something he’d thought about for a long, long time, something he’d spend his whole life trying to achieve.

At this moment, Charles Yin was no longer the powerful, calculating emperor, nor the scheming, enigmatic king.

He was just a husband—a husband who loved his wife dearly.

He felt an unprecedented tension, anxiety, confusion, and even fear.

He was so worried about Cecilia, he couldn’t bear to see her hurt, couldn’t stand the pain in her eyes…

What should he do?

What could he do?

He controlled the fate of hundreds of thousands, yet at this moment, he was as lost as a child.

He hated himself—hated his own helplessness, hated that he couldn’t bear the pain for her.

Mrs. Zhang stood to the side, constantly comforting Charles: "Mr. Yin, childbirth is something every woman must go through. Mrs. Yin has always been healthy; she’ll be fine. This is just the beginning."

"Mrs. Zhang, what did you say? Just the beginning! You mean it’s going to keep hurting?" Charles’s face changed color.

"Yes, this pain is just the start. Since Mrs. Yin is having her first child, it might take a bit longer," Mrs. Zhang explained. "It could hurt for a day or two before the actual delivery."

"What! That long!" Charles was so shocked by the length of time, he couldn’t sit still and immediately tried to rush in.

A group of people quickly blocked Charles.

"Mr. Yin, please calm down! If you go in now, you’ll disturb the doctors!" Alex and Wendy stopped him together.

Mrs. Zhang also tried to persuade him: "Mr. Yin, don’t be anxious, listen to what the doctor says!"

Just as Mrs. Zhang finished speaking, the doctor came out from inside.

Charles’s eyes lit up and he strode forward, anxiously watching the doctor, but couldn’t get a word out.

The doctor was used to seeing nervous expectant fathers, but never imagined that their usually calm and collected CEO could look so panicked. It felt oddly out of place.

Still, the doctor quickly reported, "Mr. Yin, Mrs. Yin is just starting contractions. Actual labor is likely two or three days away. The cervix isn’t ready yet, so it’s not time for delivery. Make sure she gets moderate exercise, keeps up her strength, and stays nourished. The baby is starting to move down, and we expect the birth in about two days."

What? Two more days of pain?

When Charles heard this, he felt like his own stomach was twisting in pain.

At that moment, Cecilia, supported by the nurse, slowly walked out from inside.

Seeing Cecilia, Charles nearly lost his soul. He shoved the doctor aside and rushed over, reaching out to pick her up.

Cecilia gently pushed Charles’s hand away, blushing as she said, "I’m fine now, no need to carry me. It just hurt for a bit. The doctor said these are just the initial contractions; the next one won’t come for a few hours. It’s late—everyone should get some rest."

Charles was relieved to see Cecilia was alright, but when he heard she’d have another contraction in a few hours, his heart immediately tightened again.

The doctor turned to instruct Mrs. Zhang on preparations, then called the hospital to get the delivery room ready for Cecilia to be admitted tomorrow.

"How about we go to the hospital tonight?" Charles hesitated, suggesting.

Cecilia shook her head and said, "It’s not that urgent. This is my first baby, so it won’t come that quickly. It’s already so late, I don’t want everyone losing sleep just because of me. We’ll go in the morning! Also, don’t rush to tell Grandma and Mom—it’s too late tonight, let’s tell them tomorrow."

Charles nodded furiously.

As long as it would stop Cici’s pain, he’d do anything!

Charles was so nervous he barely slept all night.

Cecilia had another bout of pain in the middle of the night, but this time it didn’t last long.

Charles knelt in front of Cecilia, letting her grip his hand tightly. He didn’t dare move, was frantic with worry, and broke out in cold sweat.

Luckily, there were only two episodes of pain that night. By morning, Cecilia was perfectly fine.

She ate and drank as usual, as if last night’s pain had just been a bad dream.

Charles was still scared out of his wits.
