Chaos

The sky was gray and oppressive. A deep, rumbling roar echoed from below. Inside a massive, square golden cabinet, Quentin—the Chimera—who had struggled for ages, finally fell silent. I stood at the edge of Dragon Plaza. Now, aside from the Daoist Order, almost no one remained. Yet some still persisted.

The colossal beast before me was trapped by the array set by the Eight Dao Gate Elders, but it was only a matter of time before it broke free. Watching the exhausted Daoist Order disciples, I glanced north, growing anxious about the situation in Gourd Village.

Overhead, the vast mirror covering Haven City continued to ooze globs of black, viscous matter—condensed Yin energy. Now, most of the Yin energy shrouding Haven City had been absorbed by the mirror above.

With a thunderous crash, Quentin—the Chimera—suddenly lunged at the golden wall, but it had no effect. I worried what to do if a second beast descended.

The Eight Dao Gate Elders sat at the plaza's edge, focused and breathless, their faces pale. Isabelle Frost sat quietly atop a dragon sculpture, gazing at the distant sky. The power she had just used to restrain the beast was peculiar.

I looked upward, ready to ascend, when a streak of red light drifted past my eyes—a petal of the Red Spider Lily appeared. I sat atop it, and the petal carried me slowly up to the massive dragon sculpture.

"Soon, this place will become a battlefield."

Isabelle Frost spoke. I watched the black droplets above, about to fall. These Yin energies felt different—likely altered by the Dark Banquet, which explained their current form.

I nodded, then asked.

"Miss Frost, aren't you going to check on the situation in the Underworld?"
