I nodded, glancing back at the image projected on the mountainside behind us. For now, the fighting had paused; the violent upheaval just moments ago had obliterated all of Gourd Village. We were now stranded on a slope beside the mountain wall, with the force of terror completely filling the village. We were utterly trapped—trying to fly over would only mean encountering even more terror in the skies.
"Should we activate the Fourfold Beast Array first?"
At that moment, not far away, Felix Fu muttered under his breath, but Jason Su immediately shook his head.
"Activating it now would play right into the Wraithlord's hands."
A heavy silence fell over the group. No one spoke; everyone simply stared at the sloping mountainside opposite us, faces grim. I hadn't expected that even with all six Ghost Sovereigns working together, they could only injure the Wraithlord—without posing any real threat to him.
Fortunately, the Earthly Soul was still alive. The indescribable anxiety I'd felt began to settle. Beside me, Isabelle Frost—who had warned me not to act rashly and to avoid contact with the force of terror—stood quietly.
I knew we had to endure as much as possible, waiting for the Ghost Sovereigns to break through. But it seemed unlikely that would happen anytime soon.
Suddenly, Samuel Young, Elder Arthur Young, and Master Jasper Jade all tensed up. In unison, they drew their ritual implements, recited incantations, and leapt onto their gourds, dust whisks, and swords.
