Leave the Rest to Me

"So much pointless chatter!"

Manager Zhang sneered coldly, his footwork lightning-fast.

He looked at Evan Lin with eyes full of contempt.

"Watch out!"

Will Han grabbed Hank Chu with one arm.

Hank Chu looked like he'd taken a lot of hits today—his whole mind was fuzzy, barely able to open his eyes, let alone see anything.

Will Han could talk big outside, but the moment he stepped into the bar and saw Brother Cannon and his crew, all his bravado vanished.

This wasn't even a contest—they weren't on the same level.

Will Han had fought before, but those were just minor scuffles. He'd never seen a bunch of real thugs like this.

Manager Zhang's aggressive posture reminded him of old Hong Kong movies. In his head, Manager Zhang was now a big boss with a whole crew of underlings.

Just as Will Han yelled out to Evan Lin in panic,

everyone saw the teenager standing there suddenly lift his foot.

It was the same kind of kick.

But while Manager Zhang's kick missed, the teenager's kick landed perfectly, sending Manager Zhang flying.

He really flew across the room.

Under everyone's gaze, Manager Zhang was launched into the air, bent over and half-kneeling as he went.

With a loud bang.

He knocked over five or six tables and chairs behind him, crashing them to the floor.

"Ah!"

Manager Zhang knelt there, clutching his stomach, letting out muffled groans.

He tried his best to hold back, not wanting to embarrass himself too badly.

But the intense pain made his nerves feel like they were exploding.

"Damn... ah."

Will Han was stunned for a moment, but couldn't help blurting out in amazement.

He'd thought Evan Lin was about to get kicked by Manager Zhang, but the teenager's explosive strength was way beyond what he'd imagined. Both his power and courage totally blew Will's mind at that moment.

"Manager!"

The waiter who came in with Evan Lin and Will Han froze for a second, then quickly rushed over to help Manager Zhang up from the floor.

Brother Cannon glanced over with the corner of his eye and saw Manager Zhang curled up like a shrimp. He was genuinely surprised.

"Didn't expect it—there's actually such a fierce kid here?"

Brother Cannon grabbed a bottle of beer from the table, popped it open, poured himself a glass, took a sip, and finally looked over at Evan Lin, sizing him up from head to toe.

"Do you realize the guy you just kicked is the manager of this bar?"

"The manager may not be much, but he represents the bar's reputation. If you beat him up, it's the same as causing trouble here. In a minute, a dozen or twenty security guards will rush in and crush you. Aren't you scared?"

Brother Cannon spoke in a calm, steady tone, never taking his eyes off the teenager in front of him.

He was curious, but mostly surprised.

Evan Lin's kick wasn't unexpected.

Anyone with a bit of guts would instinctively fight back in that situation, but the result of this counterattack totally blew Brother Cannon's mind.

Honestly speaking,

Brother Cannon figured even his own kick couldn't have sent Manager Zhang flying like that.

"Doesn't matter how many come—I'll kick every single one. They're all trash. More or less, makes no difference."

Evan Lin shook his head.

Hearing this, Manager Zhang's face twisted with rage.

But he couldn't do anything—he could barely groan in pain, let alone speak.

He gave the waiter a look, who immediately got the message, helped him to a sofa to rest, then hurried out.

He thought about calling for help, but the waiter was scared too—afraid that if he pulled out his radio, the teenager would come over and kick him as well.

The waiter dashed outside, running as fast as he could.

Evan Lin watched him leave, making no move to stop him.

"That guy went to get backup. You're not going to stop him, or run?"

Brother Cannon held his beer, staring at Evan Lin.

The men around him were all holding beer bottles, drinking and watching the scene unfold.

Most of them were smiling—mocking smiles, just waiting for a good show.

Hardly anyone thought this teenager was anything special. That kick was strong, but that's all it was.

They'd seen plenty of strong guys before, but as long as it was within normal limits, it didn't really matter.

After all, no matter how strong a person is, he's still just one person.

'Even a master can get beaten by a flurry of wild punches'—that's old wisdom handed down for generations.

"Whatever. Let them come."

After saying this, Evan Lin walked over to Will Han and Hank Chu.

He squatted down, glanced at Hank Chu, whose eyes were half-closed, and reached out to pat his face.

"Hank."

Evan Lin called softly.

Only then did Hank Chu groggily open his eyes.

He was just too exhausted—mentally and physically. His head was so foggy it felt like he could pass out any second.

He reeked of alcohol.

The smell wasn't coming from inside him, but from beer soaked all over his body.

Clearly, before Evan Lin arrived, Hank Chu had been bullied in all sorts of ways.

"You..."

"Evan?"

Hank Chu, still half out of it, suddenly recognized Evan Lin, his eyes went wide and he blurted out, "What are you doing here?!"

"Hurry up and leave! Just wait for me at school—who told you to come here!"

Hank Chu was anxious, his voice suddenly loud but raspy, like a broken gong—hard to listen to.

He knew exactly what kind of trouble he'd gotten into. Seeing Evan Lin show up, he immediately hoped Evan would leave quickly.

He was terrified Evan Lin would get dragged into this mess.

"So much happened and you never told me. Do you even see me as a friend?"

Evan Lin looked at him, shook his head, took out a Nourishing Spirit Pill and put it in his mouth.

Hank Chu didn't question it or refuse. As soon as the pill hit his tongue, he felt a warm current flow down his throat, spreading through his whole body.

The pain seemed to ease up a lot in that instant.

"I wasn't... I..."

Hank Chu perked up a bit, but after hearing Evan Lin's words, his face showed hesitation.

"Alright, since I'm here, everything ends now. Just rest for a while."

"Leave the rest to me."
