The Mysterious Captain

1/4/2026

Cecilia Gu signed for the gift, completely baffled.

Rona Muir, curiosity getting the better of her, opened the box.

Cecilia Gu glanced down and saw a white beach maxi dress lying quietly inside the box.

Rona Muir immediately exclaimed, "Wow! This captain is really generous! This dress is designed by the legendary 'Hand of God'—the designer only creates one piece a year!"

"Is it really that valuable?" Cecilia couldn't help but pick up the dress and hold it against herself, then asked Rona, "Am I allowed to accept this?"

"You’ve already signed for it, so of course you can keep it! Come on, try it on! Anything designed by the Hand of God is extraordinary." Rona said with mock seriousness, "Don’t think LV or Hermès are the real deal—those are just mainstream brands. True aristocrats have much higher standards."

Cecilia nodded in agreement.

All of Charles Yin's clothes are custom-made.

Even his socks and gloves are bespoke.

And don’t even get me started on the rest of his wardrobe.

But lately, Charles Yin has been wearing that blue shirt I picked for him by accident almost all the time.

He even broke his rule of only wearing clothes twice—it looks like he’s worn that shirt several times now.

Ugh, why am I thinking about him again?

Rona Muir pushed Cecilia into the bedroom to change into the white beach dress.

When Cecilia stepped out, Rona’s jaw dropped. She quickly undid Cecilia’s bun, letting her hair fall over her shoulders, then grabbed a pink lily from the vase and tucked it behind Cecilia’s ear without a word.

Cecilia just stood there, letting Rona fuss over her.

Rona wasn’t satisfied, so she took off the lily and swapped it for a crown of baby's breath.

After a moment, she even made a baby's breath bracelet and slipped it onto Cecilia’s wrist.

Before Cecilia could say anything, Sophie Mo's voice came from the doorway: "A baby's breath hairband needs diamond studs to match."

"Exactly!" Rona turned around, grabbed her jewelry pouch, and picked out a pair of diamond studs for Cecilia.

Sophie Mo circled around Cecilia Gu, then whipped out her makeup bag and started touching up Cecilia's face.

"Hey, hey, what are you guys doing?" Cecilia finally couldn't hold back. "I'm just trying on the dress..."

"You have to get the whole look together to see the effect!" Rona Muir kept fussing over Cecilia.

Sophie quickly finished, accentuating Cecilia's features with a few deft strokes.

"Okay, all set!" Rona spun Cecilia around, looking very pleased.

This beach dress was designed for a laid-back, effortless vibe.

With Sophie’s makeup, Cecilia looked even more alluring.

Rona didn’t hesitate to pull out her phone and snap a few photos.

Seeing that, Sophie grabbed her own phone too, but just as she was about to take a picture, she said, "We should really shoot on the deck for the best effect!"

"Yes, yes! Let’s go to the deck!" Rona eagerly followed Sophie, pushing Cecilia along as they headed outside.

A gust of sea breeze swept by, tossing Cecilia Gu’s long hair. Strands brushed across her face, and her bright, clear eyes peeked out from behind them—she looked absolutely captivating.

Rona Muir and Sophie Mo instantly turned into photographers, snapping nonstop pictures of Cecilia.

Cecilia wore a helpless expression. "I’m not a model, you know."

"You're way prettier than those models," Sophie replied. "Back in the day, Nora even did some print modeling—she totally outshone all the big names."

Rona chimed in with admiration, "Totally! I think Cecilia’s got a great foundation. If she debuted, she’d crush all those so-called stars! Her features are so delicate—a little makeup and she’s absolutely stunning."

Sophie nodded in agreement.

Cecilia just stood there, speechless, letting them take as many photos as they liked.

Rona and Sophie kept shooting and picking their favorite shots to upload to Weibo.

In less than ten minutes, Weibo was blowing up again!

In one of the rooms, a tall figure dressed in a captain’s uniform lounged lazily in a chair. He swiped across the screen, zooming in on the photo until Cecilia’s expression was crystal clear.

"That outfit really suits you," he murmured, a smile rippling across his face.

"You never stop surprising me..." he sighed, unable to hide the tenderness in his voice.

Once Rona and Sophie finally got their fill of taking pictures, Cecilia spoke up: "Hey, hey, reminder—you two, we came for the food, not a photoshoot!"

"It's called multitasking!" Rona said enthusiastically. "Come on, let's head back and catch the chefs in action."

Cecilia’s beach dress look instantly became a sensation in the entertainment world.

Celebrities started copying her, posting their own beach dress photos on Weibo.

But netizens all agreed—Cecilia, the nation’s favorite daughter-in-law, was the one who truly captured the spirit!

The glow of maternal love shining from within made her beauty almost unreal...

Sylvia Ran saw the viral posts on Weibo too.

She instantly slammed her phone onto the floor!

Why?!

Why is that woman still pretending, posting all these photos on Weibo even after leaving K City?!

She’s just too much!

Is she trying to win Charles Yin back?

Hmph, not a chance!

If we’re talking innocence... who could possibly be more innocent than her?

Sylvia Ran, refusing to admit defeat, shot her own set of "innocent" photos and posted them to her Weibo.

But her photos didn’t get any attention at all—they sank without a trace in the endless stream of beach dress selfies...

That day, no one knew how many things Sylvia smashed in her room...

The three of them arrived at the main hall on the second floor, where the cruise’s theme activities were held.

At that moment, dozens of chefs lined up, gathering their ingredients and getting ready to show off their skills.

Guests who came to the party with Cecilia and her friends were arriving one after another, all ready to taste the delicious food.

Today’s party was all about food, so every server wore a chef’s uniform. There weren’t glamorous beauties or handsome guys, but the whole place was buzzing with culinary flair.

One side table held a selection of snacks and pastries for guests who couldn’t wait for the main courses.

Since Cecilia was pregnant, she got hungry easily. She picked up a delicate plate, planning to grab some snacks to tide herself over.

Before Cecilia could reach for anything, a hand placed a pastry right onto her plate.

Cecilia turned her head and saw a chef holding a tray, respectfully setting food on her plate.

Cecilia was stunned—this level of service was...

"Miss Gu, please enjoy." After placing the food, the chef bowed respectfully. "This appetizer was specially sent by the captain. It’s light and refreshing, not greasy at all, and won’t spoil your palate—so you’ll enjoy the tasting experience later."

That captain again!

While Cecilia was still processing, Rona and Sophie had already snatched a pastry from her plate and popped it into their mouths.

"Mmm, not bad. Delicious!" Rona nodded enthusiastically.

"Mm, seriously tasty." Sophie nodded too. "Authentic Scottish pastries—only a native Scottish chef could make these."

Cecilia rubbed her forehead. "Hey, you two!"

At least ask who sent the food before you eat it!

That captain is just too mysterious, isn’t he?

"Cecilia, try it! It’s really good!" Rona eagerly picked up a pastry and held it to Cecilia’s lips.

Cecilia opened her mouth and ate it, resigned.

Mmm, it really was delicious!

So good! I want another one!

But the chef only gave Cecilia that much. After tasting these pastries, the other appetizers just didn’t compare.

So Cecilia decided not to eat anything else and waited eagerly for the chefs’ main creations.

As soon as Cecilia sat down, another chef came over with three glasses of water for her.

"The captain asked me to bring water for the three ladies." The chef set down the glasses and left.

That captain again!

Rona crossed her arms, pretending to be serious. "Is that captain interested in one of us or something?"

Sophie shot Rona a quick look and daintily brushed her forehead.

Rona’s got a lot of great qualities, but her boldness can be a bit much sometimes...

"You’re overthinking it..." Sophie shook her head, exasperated.

Cecilia couldn’t help but shake her head. "Come on, how could that be? He’s never even met us! He probably just knows who we are and wants to give us special treatment."

"That sounds a lot more likely," Sophie replied at once.

Rona puffed out her chest in protest—and, sure enough, drew plenty of male attention.

G cup...

Of the three, Rona was the boldest, Sophie the gentlest, and Cecilia fell somewhere in between—she might look delicate, but inside, she was incredibly strong.

By now, the chefs had finished cooking, dividing the food into countless small portions. Each was served in a silver dish and laid out on long tables for guests to help themselves.

Just as Cecilia, Rona, and Sophie walked over to grab some food, another chef approached them. "These servings are prepared especially for you three. Please enjoy."

Cecilia finally couldn’t hold back. "Wait! Was it the captain who sent you again? Who is your captain, anyway?"

The chef just smiled at Cecilia, but didn’t answer.

"Or is it that you all know exactly who we are, and this so-called company freebie is really just for us? Or maybe your captain or boss wants something from the Yin Consortium or the Mo Family? Let’s cut to the chase—what does your captain really want?" Cecilia pressed.
