Evan Cross's wind blades are forged from Chaos Essence. Whether in raw power or quality, they're far stronger than wind blades formed from ordinary stellar force, so even though the three opponents are tough, they're all bleeding now.
Just as they thought they'd dodged the attack and were about to counter, Evan Cross's wind blades struck again. This time, their evasive moves looked even more desperate, and they ended up taking even heavier damage.
Evan Cross wanted to unleash Wind Over the World again, but the three weren't fools. Even though they'd been wounded, they sensed what was coming. Gritting their teeth and enduring another round of wind blade pain, they bolted sideways out of his attack range.
As long as they could get out of range of Evan Cross's wind blade attacks, their predicament would naturally resolve itself.
By now, blood was streaming from several wounds on all three of them. One even looked ready to collapse, clearly badly hurt. The fury in their eyes could burn a whole river dry—they wanted nothing more than to slaughter Evan Cross on the spot, but their bodies just couldn't keep up.
"How does it feel? That was just your appetizer, courtesy of Grandpa! So this is all the so-called Sea Dragon Academy Honors Class can do? I haven't even gone all out yet!" Evan Cross laughed, deliberately mocking their sorry state.
This was the ordinary-class battlefield—no one from Sea Dragon Academy had expected to run into someone as monstrous as Evan Cross here. They'd thought it would be easy to wipe out all the Heavenly Dragon Academy students, but now everything had changed.
"Quit acting cocky, kid! I bet you're just stalling because you've burned through too much stellar force. Brothers, hit him with everything we've got—show him our strongest attacks!" The tall student snarled, looking like he hated Evan Cross to the bone.
"Ooh, I'm so scared! Come on, show me just how badass Sea Dragon Academy's martial techniques really are!" Evan Cross shot back, then retreated dozens of steps—this time, he was ready to go all out.
Taking advantage of their distraction, he prepared his deceptively plain sword slash. It took a lot out of him, but as long as he could kill these three, the rest wouldn't be a threat. For quick victory, he had to take the risk.
His Earth Star Pellet spun wildly, pumping Chaos Essence into the Frostbane Sword. The process took a few seconds, and Evan Cross was betting that, despite their tough talk, the three would hesitate just long enough—because deep down, they still feared him.
The three saw Evan Cross retreat so far and found it strange. He must have a reason for this move, but they couldn't figure it out right away. One thing was certain, though—he was preparing some kind of martial technique.
The tall student seemed to be their leader and was the strongest of the three. Seeing Evan Cross's stance, he suddenly realized something. "Attack now! That move he's preparing takes time—if we don't kill him before he finishes, we're dead!"
With that, his longsword spun out several sword flowers, his body trailing an afterimage as he charged at Evan Cross.
The other two didn't waste any time either. One wielded a silver spear, its tip blazing with half a meter of fire—clearly someone who'd mastered the fire element.
With a shake of his hands, he yelled, "Taste Grandpa's Wildfire of Starlight!" The spear instantly split into dozens of fiery spear shadows, all lunging for Evan Cross.
The last one was badly hurt and slower to act. By the time the other two's techniques landed and they were within two meters of Evan Cross, he finally unleashed his attack.
He used a longsword, its blade flashing with sword-light. He roared, "Mad Fiend Sword Cleave!" and countless sword shadows erupted before him.
"Mad Fiend Sword Cleave? Nice name, but let's see if it actually packs a punch," Evan Cross laughed inwardly.
Watching the three attacks coming at him one after another, Evan Cross's lips curled into a smile. "Perfect timing. Now I'll show you what a real killing move looks like!"
Evan Cross swung out with a slow, utterly plain sword strike. It was so understated that there wasn't even a glimmer of sword-light on the blade—truly the definition of 'plain and ordinary.'
To Evan Cross, this move wasn't a formal martial technique—it was a killing move he stumbled upon by chance. But its power was monstrous.
Evan Cross's fight was the center of attention. Even those locked in desperate combat elsewhere couldn't help but be distracted—one man against three top experts was a spectacle.
Many lost focus and were seriously wounded or even killed by their opponents—all because of Evan Cross. He was the center of gravity, drawing every eye with his every move.
The tall attacker saw Evan Cross casually swinging his sword and couldn't help but sneer. "You dare wave your sword in front of my powerful martial technique? You must think nothing of me. Let's see how you die this time."
But when his martial technique collided with Evan Cross's sword, he felt as if he'd been thrown into a vortex of wild, raging energy. His attack was swallowed whole, vanishing without a trace.
Meanwhile, that wild energy tore through his body, flooding him with agony and despair. He was ripped apart, shredded to pieces before he could even react.
That 'plain and ordinary' sword strike contained nearly half of Evan Cross's Chaos Essence—enough power to seriously wound or kill even a seventh-rank monster. How could a mere fourth-layer Earth Martial cultivator hope to resist?
Blood mist filled the air. The tall student was annihilated by the invisible sword energy forged from Chaos Essence—there wasn't even a corpse left. If not for the shattered pieces of his sword on the ground, no one would have believed he'd just been attacking Evan Cross.
The next student's attack landed just then. Even though the plain sword strike had been weakened a bit by the previous clash, its power was undiminished. His attack vanished too, leaving Evan Cross untouched.
The result was the same—no trace left of him, only his intact spear lying on the ground to prove he'd ever been here.
In an instant, Evan Cross had killed two students—both from the Honors Class. His monstrous power left a deep impression on everyone watching. Many Sea Dragon Academy students were already thinking of fleeing; with someone this heaven-defying around, sticking around meant certain death.
Just then, the wounded student's attack arrived. Because he was a few seconds slower than the others, his Mad Fiend Sword Cleave barely slipped past the lingering effect of Evan Cross's plain sword strike.
Evan Cross had already spent all his strength with that sword, and was now in the process of withdrawing. But the opponent was launching a full-force attack—this time, Evan Cross was in real danger...
