A One-Versus-Four Performance

1/19/2026

The four opponents moved with astonishing speed, instantly closing in on Evan Chu. The weapons in their hands shone with sword-qi and blade-qi infused with stellar power, fully displaying their formidable strength.

Yet Evan Chu remained perfectly calm in the face of danger, a faintly cold smile appearing on his lips. In a flash, he unleashed Shifting Position, leaving behind an afterimage as he vanished to a spot ten meters away.

At the same time, the Frostbane Sword in his hand swept out, unleashing a meter-long blade of sword-qi that struck like lightning at one of the saber-wielding youths.

By now, Evan Chu’s Heart-Sword technique was fully mastered—controlling his sword with pure intent and striking enemies at will had become effortless for him.

The saber-wielding youth saw Evan Chu seemingly throw his weapon away in a panic, using it as a hidden weapon to attack—and immediately burst out laughing:

“So this is all the Heavenly Dragon Academy Honors Class can do? You see Grandpa coming and you can’t even hold onto your weapon? Relax, I’ll make sure you get a whole corpse!”

His face was full of disdain. As the Frostbane Sword reached him, he swung his saber with all his strength to block the blade.

But the Frostbane Sword was shrouded in Chaos Qi—far beyond what mere stellar power could compare to. Instantly, the youth felt a tidal wave of backlash surge through his saber, tearing open the flesh between his thumb and forefinger as blood gushed out.

What frustrated him even more was that his saber was an upper-grade spirit weapon, yet now it had a massive notch gouged out of it. He couldn’t help but feel a jolt of terror: “Just what grade is this kid’s sword? How can it be stronger than mine?”

As Evan Chu made his move, Gus Bullard and Lily Tang didn’t sit idle either. With numbers on both sides about equal, the battle quickly heated up—Gus Bullard and Sterling Yates led the charge, their strength placing them at the very front.

Lily Tang and Rhea Yang weren’t weak either, but since both were considered Evan Chu’s women, as the boss’s girls they naturally had to be protected. So the two could only stay in the rear, teaming up with Gabe Goldstone to finish off injured or isolated students.

Though they felt a bit frustrated, neither girl could protest—after all, it was for their own good. Only Gabe Goldstone was left speechless, feeling self-conscious about his lack of strength.

Gus Bullard and Sterling Yates were like killing machines, fighting with reckless abandon. Both wanted to show off in front of Evan Chu, and every attack they unleashed was accompanied by thunderous wind and fierce sword-qi.

Evan Chu was taking on four at once. Gus and Sterling wanted to rush in and help, but Evan stopped them, leaving them a little disappointed—still, when the boss gave an order, you followed it.

Lily Tang and Rhea Yang were deeply worried seeing Evan Chu face four Sea Dragon Academy Honors Class students alone. But remembering all the unbelievable things he’d done, they felt a lot more at ease.

Evan Chu’s Heart-Sword technique was now incredibly refined—controlling the sword with intent, uniting sword and mind, fully reaching the realm where man and sword were one. But it consumed a lot of Chaos Qi, and drained his mental power too.

Just then, as the saber youth looked up, he saw the Frostbane Sword still floating in mid-air—now right at his chest. What followed was a wave of ripping, unbearable pain; terror, despair, and unwillingness flashed across his face.

He’d been killed just like that—so suddenly, anyone would feel bitter about it. But life only comes once; no matter how much he struggled, there was no coming back. The Frostbane Sword pierced straight through his chest, leaving a bloody hole that kept gushing blood.

He collapsed to the ground, eyes wide open in death, unwilling to rest. The other three saw this and were shocked—Evan Chu’s speed was already rare, but now his bizarre killing method left them deeply wary, and the earlier show of force cast a long shadow in their hearts.

Without any pause, Evan Chu sent the Frostbane Sword slashing toward another student, still moving blindingly fast—though this time, the Chaos Qi around the blade was clearly weaker.

"Everyone be careful! Hit him with your strongest attacks—this guy’s way too freaky!" shouted the tall student, clearly wary of Evan Chu’s strength.

If Ryan Ouyang were conscious right now, who knows what he’d think seeing Evan Chu calmly take on four at once—maybe he’d even want to challenge him again.

The three were all Sea Dragon Academy Honors Class students, so their strength was nothing to scoff at. Their martial techniques erupted almost instantly—originally aimed at Evan Chu, but all redirected to the floating Frostbane Sword.

Evan Chu didn’t dare get cocky; combined attacks from all three were no joke. If they all struck the Frostbane Sword, it might damage his mind. At a thought, the sword seemed to sprout eyes and shot straight back into his hand.

Their joint attack missed completely, and the massive burst of stellar power left the ground riddled with craters. Dust and the stench of blood filled the air, making everyone uncomfortable.

Evan Chu knew full well—using Heart-Sword might only work once. To truly kill these opponents, he’d need more practical moves. But his arsenal was limited; he still hadn’t grasped the ninth form of Chasing Wind Sword Art.

That seemingly plain sword strike also drained Chaos Qi heavily and took too long to prepare. Except for Tempest Shroud and Wind Over the World, the rest of his moves just weren’t good enough.

Clearly, he needed to master a more powerful martial technique—otherwise, he’d be helpless in real danger.

He knew he had one heaven-defying technique, the Ninefold Stellar Transformation, but reaching mastery would take who knows how long. Suddenly, a thought struck him—after tapping his fingers a few times, he darted to the side.

He instantly unleashed Wind Over the World again, sending countless wind blades slashing toward the three with incredible speed.

Evan Chu found that casting Wind Over the World didn’t drain much Chaos Qi; he could unleash it several times in a row. While his opponents struggled against the powerful wind blades, he cast it again, as if his martial arts barely consumed any stellar power at all.

Everyone knew that the stronger the martial technique, the more stellar power it consumed. Usually, a single powerful attack would drain at least a quarter of one’s stellar power. But Evan Chu’s repeated moves seemed more like a stage performance—no one else could pull off such a feat.

Of course, if a Heaven Martial Realm expert used Wind Over the World, they could do it too—but to cast a Heaven Martial-level technique, that would be another story.

The three attackers were a bit disappointed after missing their mark, thinking Evan Chu was just too slippery. As they prepared to strike again, a sudden burst of piercing sounds split the air.

They knew well enough that those piercing noises were actually invisible sword-qi—not launched from a sword, but shot from Evan Chu’s fingers: finger-force.

No one dared underestimate this finger-force; they dodged frantically, but what followed was a barrage of deadly wind blades. There was no time to counter with martial techniques—the only choice was to evade.
