The Death of Lily Bai (7)

1/4/2026

Lily Bai cradled Evan Lan's Vanishing Plant, slowly rising to her feet.

"Put down the Vanishing Plant and I'll let you go." The masked man's voice was low and raspy, almost unnatural.

Lily didn't say a word. Suddenly, she dashed to the edge of the cliff and hurled Evan Lan's Vanishing Plant down the mountain.

If she fell from the mountain, she would die.

But Evan Lan wouldn't.

A flash of Red Light.

Her body went limp.

Lily staggered and collapsed to her knees.

Evan Lan, propelled by momentum, landed on the edge of the mountain.

But he was stopped by a tree and didn't fall further.

Lily looked down and saw a huge hole in her chest.

Not a single drop of blood.

The whole center was just... gone.

The words "A life dogged by misfortune, doomed to a bad end" suddenly flashed through her mind.

In the end, she couldn't escape her fate.

She was about to die again.

But maybe she had the soul of a shark.

Even like this, she still hadn't died right away.

She turned her head and saw the white-robed man walking toward her, heading straight for Evan Lan.

He wanted to take the Vanishing Plant back and let that fish keep draining him.

Some unknown force surged within her.

Suddenly, Lily lunged forward.

She tackled Evan Lan's Vanishing Plant right off the cliff.

The white-robed man cried out in shock and rushed over.

But it was already too late.

Evan Lan's Vanishing Plant had fallen.

A faint smile curled Lily's lips as she lay at the edge of the cliff, watching Evan Lan free-fall.

From this angle, she could see a crack in the cliff face.

The lens of the astronomical telescope poked out through that crack.

As Evan Lan's Vanishing Plant reached the crack, a hand suddenly shot out and caught it—steady as could be!

It pulled him inside!

"No!" Lily struggled to crawl forward.

Finally, her body slipped and she tumbled off the cliff.

She hadn't managed to get Evan Lan back.

She hadn't saved Eric Lan or the Supreme Emperor either.

Just like that... she died.

If the Spirit Realm and Demon Realm are divided, the Demon Realm lies outside, the Spirit Realm within.

If both realms are doomed, the Demon Realm falls first, the Spirit Realm follows.

The Demon Realm is on the verge of collapse.

The Demon Sealing Well must be opened and the Origin Lotus revived, or the Lotus Realm is doomed.

The Demon King and General Turtle exhausted all their powers and finally reached the Spirit Realm.

But she no longer had the strength to break the seal on the Demon Sealing Well.

Only the blood of the God-Demon Child could erase the seal.

So she... reincarnated as a human and bore a child with the only Sacred Spirit left in this world.

She did it.

Though the process was pretty miserable.

The first time, she didn't even touch Evan Lan's sleeve.

Forget having a baby.

She had to do it all over again.

This time, she finally managed to have the child. But how did the mighty Demon King end up so pitiful?

It must've been because she saw a jinx on the day she was reborn.

Ugh! Stupid jinx.

Lily Bai moved a little and sat up.

She raised her hand and checked herself.

The two bullet holes were gone.

She looked down—her chest wound was being repaired by a surge of black energy.

She glanced around and figured she was somewhere in a dense forest at the foot of Heaven's Gate Mountain.

Her body must've been smashed to bits in the fall.

It must've taken days to patch herself up this much.

Lily Bai tidied up her ruined clothes, then suddenly turned into a streak of black light and shot up to the mountaintop.

The mountaintop was already deserted.

She went down into the cave—no one there either.

She felt a little disappointed.

It'd been ages since she'd killed anyone.

Eh, actually, she'd never killed a person.

After all, there aren't any people in the Demon Realm.

Just demons.

She'd wanted a little thrill, but everyone was already gone.
