Revealing the Nine-Clawed Golden Dragon

1/19/2026

Seeing the One-Horned Cat suddenly transform into a human form left Evan Chu and the other two a bit stunned. After all, most Primordial-era immortal and demonic beasts can’t shapeshift, so they just stared straight at her in surprise.

"I used your blood to save someone who’s extremely important to me. What happened just now was out of desperation, and now you’re basically fine. We’re in a hurry to find the next kind of blood!" Evan Chu said.

He really didn’t want to waste too much time here with this girl. There was still no clue about the Heaven Mosquito’s whereabouts. Although the Golden Dragon King said it might show up in the swamps, there are plenty of swamps in the Immortal Realm, and finding it would be extremely difficult.

"You hurt me, and now you want to leave without even saying sorry? You really don’t take us Heavenfire Hellcats seriously, do you? I only let you get away with it because I was careless. Now you owe me an explanation—otherwise, none of you are leaving here alive." the girl said.

"Heavenfire Hellcat? Weren’t you just a One-Horned Cat? How did you suddenly become a Heavenfire Hellcat? What kind of explanation do you want? We’re really busy, and I didn’t even try to kill you—otherwise, you’d already be dead." Evan Chu said helplessly.

"Hahaha! Dead? Us Heavenfire Hellcats have nine lives—how could I die so easily? This is just one of my avatars. If my true body were here, you’d all be dead. The One-Horned Cat you talk about is just my pre-evolution form.

My clan has gone through countless evolutions, and now, I’m the only Heavenfire Hellcat who’s reached nine lives. Do you realize that the blood you took from me will take at least a hundred years to recover? You really think I’ll just let you off that easily?" the girl snapped.

The more Evan Chu and his companions listened, the more shocked they became. With puzzled faces, Evan glanced at the Golden Dragon King and asked, "Heavenfire Hellcat? Is it similar to a Heavenly Fox? If she really has nine lives, isn’t that insanely powerful?"

At this point, Evan Chu thought of Violet Demon Thunderfox, Mei Xiaoxiao. He wondered how she was doing now; ever since returning to Frostbane Imperial Palace, he hadn’t seen her. Maybe when she comes out of seclusion, it’ll be time for her to ascend to the God Realm. He just wasn’t sure if he’d have time to wait for her.

"She’s probably pretty strong. Didn’t you hear her say this is just one of her avatars? I’ve never heard of a One-Horned Cat evolving into a Heavenfire Hellcat before. What do you plan to do? Kill her and leave, or apologize and settle things?" the Golden Dragon King asked.

"No need to kill her—less trouble is better. You guys head out first, I’ll talk to her alone. I trust she’ll understand." Evan Chu said.

The Golden Dragon King wanted to ask what Evan Chu planned to say, but held back. It was obvious the Heavenfire Hellcat was furious, and Evan was sure to suffer for it. If an avatar was this strong, what would happen if the real body showed up?

"Emerald Immortal Empress, let’s go. Leave this to the Palace Lord—he asked for it, so let’s not get in his way." the Golden Dragon King whispered.

The Emerald Immortal Empress didn’t say anything and left with the Golden Dragon King. The woman shaped by the Heavenfire Hellcat didn’t stop them, but instead looked at Evan Chu and said, "Aren’t you curious why I didn’t block them?"

"Not really. I’m the one who hurt you, so I’m the one you’re after. If you want revenge, you’ll come for me, not anyone else. What do you want to do—fight it out, or settle things peacefully?" Evan Chu said carelessly.

"There were five of you in total, all pretty strong. That golden dragon is the strongest—probably half-demigod. But I don’t care about any of you, especially you. If I wanted to kill you, it’d be easy. So, how do you want to die?

Should I finish you with a single blow, swallow you and let you die slowly, or erase your soul and turn you into a mindless puppet, my prisoner?" the girl said.

"Hey, you’re a woman—a pretty decent-looking one at that. Isn’t your heart a little too ruthless? Do you even know who I am? If you try anything, the consequences will be serious." Evan Chu said coolly.

"Why should I care who you are? Us Heavenfire Hellcats never meddle in Immortal Realm affairs. My power has already surpassed the threshold for ascending to the God Realm, but millions of years ago, I glimpsed the Heavenly Dao during my evolution. Because of that, I can’t ascend and am trapped in this volcanic region for life. Otherwise, the Immortal Realm would already be ruled by Heavenfire Hellcats." the girl said.

"Oh, so that’s how it is. That’s honestly pretty wild. I’m the Palace Lord of Frostbane Imperial Palace in the Immortal Realm, and I’m about to ascend to the God Realm. If you really want to ascend, maybe I could take you with me—believe it or not." Evan Chu said.

"Hahaha, kid, you really don’t think before you speak, do you? You think I’m that easy to fool? Ascending to the God Realm means you can’t bring any living being with you—that’s breaking the laws of Heaven. You think you can pull that off?" the girl sneered, obviously looking down on Evan Chu.

Evan Chu didn’t care about her ridicule. "Believe whatever you want. But what if I told you I have an ancient divine artifact—a spatial one at that? Think there’s a chance?"

That line made the girl pause for a moment. "Ancient divine artifact? What makes you worthy of one? You really think I’m so gullible? Looks like you need to be taught a lesson so you’ll understand who you’re dealing with.

I’ve been wasting time talking with you just to stall. Now my true body and other avatars have arrived. You fell for it, kid. Did you really think I’d let all five of you go? You’re dreaming. I’m going to swallow every one of you and slowly refine your strength—then I’ll reach another level."

"Sounds scary, but I’m not the type to get scared. You really think we’re pushovers? Try it and see!" As soon as Evan Chu finished, the aura of the Primordial Dragon erupted from his body—a true Primordial-era pressure, even older than the Heavenfire Hellcat’s.

It was just like when a Heavenfire Hellcat runs into a member of the Dragon Clan from the same era—the difference in status was obvious. Deep down, their souls are branded with the instinct to submit.

When the Primordial Dragon’s aura appeared, terror instantly flashed across the girl’s face. She stared at Evan Chu for a long moment before finally saying, "You… who are you? How do you have the aura of a king?"

"Aura of a king? Now you know who you’re dealing with. Heavenfire Hellcat, you really are arrogant—acting so rude in front of a true king!" Evan Chu roared, and a golden Nine-Clawed Golden Dragon suddenly appeared before the girl.

Seeing the Nine-Clawed Golden Dragon, the girl couldn’t help but fall to her knees, her whole body trembling uncontrollably—it was almost comical.
