Leaving the Death-Tower Grounds

1/19/2026

Evan Chu had never tried storing a soul-body inside the Timewheel Bracelet before, but he had to give it a shot. With a thought, the bracelet emitted a faint white glow, and Serena Frost vanished from sight. Yet Evan was instantly overwhelmed by a splitting headache so severe it nearly made him lose his balance.

"Rest for a bit, Evan. It's just your mind power being overdrawn. I didn't expect that, with your current strength, carrying even a single soul-body would be so difficult. I originally wanted you to bring your women to the Immortal Realm, but it looks like we'll have to wait for another chance." Luna—the sword spirit—said at that moment.

Evan sat down on the ground and closed his eyes to recover. Right now, he felt like he was falling apart, his whole body weak and powerless. Overdrawing his mind power really wasn't a good thing; it took him almost half a day of rest before he could stand up again.

After glancing at the distant sky, Evan smiled. "Time to head out. I wonder how Roxanne and Ivy will punish me for being gone this time!" With a flash, he used instant movement, leaving a blur behind as he sped off into the distance.

With Luna guiding the way, Evan’s journey out was smooth—he barely encountered any Glasswind or earth-fire. After half a day, he finally exited the Death-Tower Grounds. "I’m out at last. Thinking back, it really wasn’t easy this time. I nearly lost my life in there."

"You should be satisfied. You got the Glassfire Crystal and even rescued a beauty. What more do you want? You know, Serena’s looks are no less than mine. If you have the ability to make her your woman, I won’t object—in fact, I’ll fully support you. She’s my best friend, and I’d be willing to serve the same man alongside her." Luna said bluntly.

Normally, Evan should be thrilled by such a stroke of luck, but right now he couldn’t feel happy at all. His feelings for Luna had been nurtured over time, but Serena Frost was still a stranger to him. Besides, she’d once been a Ninth-Heaven Arch-Immortal—what right did a mere Saint Martial cultivator like him have to demand she become his woman? Was saving her really enough?

"Let’s talk about this later. For now, we should go check on the Human Faction and get ready to return to the Azure Tide Ruins. But I feel like I forgot something important during this trip to the Death-Tower Grounds. It’s a bit of a pity." Evan said.

"You mean Netherghost Violet Orchids, right? I knew you’d remember. Don’t worry—Serena already gave me a bunch of them. When we get back to the Azure Tide Ruins, I’ll hand them over!" Luna laughed. With Serena Frost’s return, her mood had noticeably improved.

"When did she give them to you? How come I didn’t know? How many did she give you? Tell me." Evan immediately asked.
