Legendary Youth Evan Nine Mysteries Lin and Grandmaster Mo Yang
"What's the situation with Zack Guang's injuries?"
Victor Su turned to look at Blade standing nearby, squinted his eyes, and continued his questioning.
"News from the Guang family says that Zack Guang's injuries were caused by his own inner strength running wild, which led to his inner force flowing backward and injuring himself, shattering all his bones." As he spoke, a strange and helpless look flashed in Blade's eyes.
Cases like this, where inner force rebounds and a person injures themselves, are rare but not unheard of. When Blade first heard the news, he thought it was a mistake.
But thinking back to the banquet hall, there really wasn't anyone who could have injured Zack Guang. Even though that teenager managed to knock Dr. Donald Dong flat, the gap between Dr. Dong and Zack Guang is still too great.
"Yes, Zack Guang has been exceptionally gifted since childhood. At such a young age, he's already a pseudo-Vajra. That kind of talent is terrifying—outside of Medicine King Valley, probably no one in Seacrest Prefecture can match him."
"But maybe it's exactly because he advanced so quickly in cultivation that he couldn't fully control his power, which led to this accident." Victor Su pondered for a moment, then, unsure if he felt relieved or regretful, looked at Blade and asked, "Any news about that teenager?"
"Yes. The teenager's name is Evan Lin. He used to live and study in Whitewood County, then moved to Minghai. It's said he inherited medical skills from a wandering old Chinese doctor, then went to River City and even saved Sawyer Summer's life." Blade nodded, looking respectful. "He fought Dr. Donald Dong single-handedly, and judging by his previous move on Thousand-Saints Mountain, that teenager has probably reached peak Inner Strength."
"Peak Inner Strength."
Hearing these four words, Victor Su let out a long sigh, while Molly Su's beautiful face also changed slightly.
“Who would’ve thought Seacrest Prefecture would have a prodigy like this? He might not have stepped into the Vajra Realm yet, but with his talent in both medicine and martial arts, his future potential is off the charts.”
Victor Su looked genuinely impressed, not even considering that Zack Guang could’ve been hurt by Evan Lin. After all, Zack was still a pseudo-Vajra. To Victor and the others, Evan Lin was strong—surprisingly so—but he was still in the Inner Strength category, not at Vajra Realm yet.
“Now he’s saved my life and helped Molly with her condition. If I get the chance, I’ve got to thank him big time.” Victor Su nodded, full of gratitude.
“Grandpa, if we bring Evan Lin into the Su family, do you think he could go up against the expert the Lin family is sending?” Molly Su’s eyes lit up at the thought, turning hopefully to Victor Su.
But Victor Su’s smile faded the moment he heard Molly’s words. His face turned a little grim, then he sighed and shook his head, a bitter smile creeping in: “Evan Lin is crazy strong, and his medical skills are top-notch. He’s already a standout among his peers. But the guy our Su family has to face—even Zack Guang, a pseudo-Vajra, probably couldn’t take a single move from him.”
“If Evan Lin had enough time, he’d absolutely reach the Vajra Realm one day—maybe even be a fourth-grade Vajra! But right now, with his peak Inner Strength, he just can’t help the Su family out of this mess.” Victor Su let out a long sigh, his face full of emotion and helplessness.
Blade’s face went dark at that, and he lowered his head, cursing his own weakness. Molly Su looked just as down, her face falling.
“Right now, our only shot is to find that mysterious Number One of Seacrest Prefecture—Evan ‘Nine Mysteries’ Lin!”
Victor Su’s face lit up as he said this. He looked at Blade and asked, “Any news about Evan ‘Nine Mysteries’ Lin lately?”
“Nothing. Ever since Evan ‘Nine Mysteries’ Lin left River City days ago, he’s vanished. I tried checking surveillance footage to catch a glimpse of his face, but whether it’s the River City auction or Leighton City, every video about him has been sealed. The few I found—his face is totally blurred. No way to ID him.” Blade shook his head.
Victor Su didn’t seem mad at Blade’s report. Instead, he nodded: “He’s probably got some way to hide his face. Someone as legendary as him probably doesn’t want to stand out. Makes sense.”
“We’ve still got a little time before the showdown with the Lin family. All we can do is hope we’re lucky enough to meet Evan ‘Nine Mysteries’ Lin and get him to help us.”
Victor Su’s expression grew distant. “But I heard that Evan ‘Nine Mysteries’ Lin killed River City’s Number One, Drake Huang, who was actually Grandmaster Mo Yang. Before Grandmaster Mo Yang went into seclusion, he was already a first-grade Vajra. When he comes out, he’ll probably break through Vajra and hit a whole new level.”
“When that happens, Grandmaster Mo Yang will definitely clash with Evan ‘Nine Mysteries’ Lin in a life-and-death duel. Honestly, Evan’s odds aren’t great. Maybe that’s why he’s keeping out of sight—feeling the heat from Grandmaster Mo Yang, he’s probably found a quiet place to train.”
Victor Su muttered to himself, then turned away and stared out the villa window at the endless starry sky.
The world is huge, and people are just ants. Just thinking about Grandmaster Mo Yang back in the day, Victor Su couldn’t help feeling both awe and fear.
Grandmaster Mo Yang was practically a god.
Seeing Victor Su lost in thought, Molly Su and Blade didn’t dare interrupt. The two quietly slipped out of the room together.
Villa No. 1.
Evan Lin shrugged off his jacket and tossed it aside, then stepped barefoot into the open-air hot spring of Villa No. 1.
But instead of sinking into the water like a normal person, Evan Lin’s feet floated on the surface. He walked forward, each step sending out faint ripples across the spring.
He stopped at the very center of the spring, right above the hottest spot where the spring eye was, the air tinged with a faint whiff of sulfur.
Pale white mist curled around him, wrapping Evan Lin in a veil of steam.
Evan Lin looked calm as ever, murmuring quietly.
“Rise.”
With that word, a pillar of water shot up from the hot spring, straight into the sky!
