Everyone Thinks So

Roxy Shangguan cast him a sideways glance, clearly not believing his nonsense. "If it's not something bad, why didn't you answer? Are you trying to fool a three-year-old?"

As soon as she said that, Kathy Ren burst out laughing and ran over to pinch Roxy's soft cheeks, saying, "Are you even three yet?" The feeling was so nice, she pinched again!

Roxy Shangguan frowned, clearly not enjoying having her face squished, but she rather liked Kathy Ren, which left her a bit conflicted.

Evan Hua watched quietly from the side, his eyes gleaming. This little girl was no ordinary child! So clever, and with just one sentence she managed to frighten his useless son like that. She clearly had some tricks up her sleeve!

Seeing Roxy Shangguan frown, Quentin Hua raised his phoenix eyes and looked at Evan Hua, saying bluntly, "Control your woman!"

Evan Hua walked over, pulled Kathy Ren away, glanced at Roxy Shangguan's flushed cheeks, and then said to Quentin Hua, "She's your aunt!"

Quentin Hua ignored him, picked up Roxy Shangguan, and turned to leave.

Evan Hua sighed, hurt by Quentin Hua's cold gaze. After all, he was an elder! Couldn't that kid show a little respect?

Kathy Ren also sighed. Her adorable little darling! How could she end up in the clutches of a wolf at such a young age? She had to rescue her!

With that thought, Kathy Ren pulled Evan Hua toward the backyard, and Sylas Ren followed after them.

Charles Hua had already been knocked out by Kathy Ren’s kick, and although Autumn Du was still barely conscious, she couldn’t move at all. Only after the others left did the Hua Mansion servants dare rush in to help their master and mistress, scrambling to call for a doctor. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to do their jobs—Kathy Ren was simply too fierce; none of them dared to provoke her!

Joyce Du had wisely stayed out of sight, hiding within the mansion to avoid running into Raymond Lei and risking any unexpected trouble.

With no more drama to watch, the crowd outside the Hua Mansion gradually dispersed, leaving behind fresh gossip for idle chatter: Miss Hua had married the nearly sixty-year-old Iron Sand Hall Master, and the young master long thought to be an illegitimate child turned out to be Charles Hua’s biological son!

"Quincy…" Roxy Shangguan frowned at Quentin Hua’s silence, gazing at him as she spoke. "If you don’t like them, I’ll chase them away for you." As she spoke, she tried to climb out of his arms.

Quentin Hua held her tightly, refusing to let her move, and smiled. "I’m just not used to having family, that’s all." He reached out to gently touch her cheek, still red from Kathy Ren’s pinch, his brows knitting with a trace of irritation toward Kathy.

"Is that so?" Roxy Shangguan tilted her head, as if trying to see whether he was telling the truth.

Quentin Hua couldn’t help but laugh, planting a kiss on her flushed cheek. "Do I really look that useless? Would something so trivial really defeat me?"

He truly was just unaccustomed to it. He’d long since severed ties with Charles Hua and Autumn Du, always considering himself an orphan. Now, suddenly, he had family—and not just any family, but ones so different from the rest of the Hua Family. He couldn’t bring himself to hate them, but it was impossible to instantly accept them as his own.

Roxy Shangguan studied him for a long moment before suddenly saying, "Quincy, you don’t have to force yourself. There are people you like and people you don’t, and blood ties just make us like someone a little more. It’s not that important—if you like them, that’s enough. If you don’t, you don’t have to pay attention to them."

Evan Hua was astonished by her words. Was this really something a two-year-old would say?

Kathy Ren was also curious, sizing up Roxy Shangguan. She’d always known Roxy was smarter than most kids, but she hadn’t expected her to be this clever.

Sylas Ren, on the other hand, wasn’t surprised at all. In his mind, Roxy Shangguan was no child—she was a little devil, and anything a little devil did was perfectly normal!

Roxy Shangguan gave Evan Hua a disdainful look and lifted her chin. "Does that really need to be taught?"

"Uh…" Evan Hua was at a loss for words. Did it really not need to be taught? Were children nowadays born knowing everything?

Ignoring Evan Hua’s dazed expression, Sylas Ren shamelessly scooted over to sit beside Quentin Hua. Just as he was about to speak, Roxy Shangguan suddenly piped up, "Sylas, Quincy is mine. Don’t tell me you’ve got your eye on him!"

Sylas Ren’s ingratiating smile froze on his face, threatening to shatter at any moment.

As if things weren’t awkward enough, Kathy Ren chimed in, "Ah… darling son, I don’t mind you liking men, but a rabbit doesn’t eat the grass by its own burrow. He’s your cousin! How could you even think about pursuing him?"

"Mom…" Sylas Ren protested helplessly. "This is about your son’s lifelong happiness!" He was trying to talk about something serious!

Kathy Ren immediately shut her mouth and obediently stood beside Evan Hua, the two of them exchanging flirtatious glances.

"Dear, do you think our son can handle this?"

"I doubt it!"

"Then what should we do?"

"Don’t worry, it’s his problem anyway. It won’t affect our Sylas."

"But right now it’s still your problem!"

"Then when I get home, I’ll make it his problem."

"Mm, good!"

The two reached an agreement: regardless of whether Quentin Hua played along with Sylas Ren’s plans, at least they had a son to set up!

Sylas Ren cleared his throat, but before he could speak, Roxy Shangguan interjected, "Do you really have your eye on Quincy?" Her tone was tinged with suspicion and a hint of vigilance.

Who could blame Sylas Ren for being misunderstood? He’d said it was about his lifelong happiness, after all. Roxy couldn’t help but be wary—Quincy was so enchanting, she didn’t believe only women could be rivals. Uncle Jing and Uncle Gu were both men, and they ended up together, didn’t they? And so in love! She had to stay on guard!

Sigh… A man being too captivating is really no blessing! She had to watch out for women and men alike—it was exhausting!
