What surprised Shawn Young the most—he actually spotted two familiar figures at the southeast edge of the dance floor. One was fat, the other skinny; both were older men with shifty looks. It was none other than the infamous duo 'Lean Tiger & Fat Dragon,' Gavin Strong and Leo Bright, whom Shawn had tangled with before. The pair were dressed fashionably, blending right in with the crowd as they twisted and grooved with surprising skill, even flirting with the hot girls around them, their expressions utterly absorbed.
But Shawn quickly noticed that the 'Lean Tiger & Fat Dragon' brothers were surrounded by a faint silver barrier that could block Fae Spirits from absorbing energy. Clearly, these two weren’t just here at Imperial Night Karaoke to dance and have fun. Given their special identities and skills, they must have another agenda.
Seeing Shawn suddenly zoning out at the southeast corner of the KTV, Sylvia Snow waved her hand in front of him and playfully scolded, "Hey! What’s up with you? Why are you daydreaming like a dummy? There aren’t any beauties over there, so what’s so interesting?"
"Yeah, is it because you’re sandwiched between two gorgeous babes that your brain short-circuited?" Yvette Liu teased, pressing her ridiculously ample chest against Shawn’s arm.
Shawn snapped back to reality from the "stimulation" and quickly said, "Oh, no, it’s nothing. It’s just my first time at a place like this—I’m not used to it yet."
As he spoke, Shawn formed a sword-finger gesture with his right hand, quietly channeling his Celestial Essence—whoosh! He cast an invisible protective barrier over Sylvia Snow and Yvette Liu, shielding their Triple Spirit Flame from being drained by lurking Fae Spirits. Shawn knew that if a person’s energy was depleted, at best their lifespan would shorten; at worst, they’d be plagued with illness and misery for life.
"Hehe—what you’re not used to is having two hot babes snuggling up to you, right? Look, all those other guys are staring at you like their eyes are on fire—haha!" Yvette Liu giggled.
Only then did Shawn notice that most of the men around were staring at him, their eyes glued to the sight of him sandwiched between two stunning beauties. Their looks were full of jealousy and frustration; if looks could kill, Shawn would’ve been burnt to a crisp by now!
"Come sit down! Everyone’s here, just waiting for you guys—" In the innermost area, several booth seats had been rearranged into a large circular table with a row of plush, gold-backed sofas. Jack Jiang sat in the center, leaving two spots open beside him, while the rest of the group had already taken their seats.
Shawn and the girls walked over, and Sylvia Snow frowned and asked directly, "Where do you want us to sit?"
Jack Jiang grinned smugly, patting the seats on either side of him. "Of course, the lovely Sylvia and Yvette should sit right next to me! But there’s not enough room, so I’m afraid your boyfriend will have to sit somewhere else."
As he spoke, Jack Jiang waved at a nearby waiter, giving him a subtle look and saying, "Waiter, bring us another little stool over here!"
"Oh! Sorry, we’re all out of gold-cushioned chairs—only regular wooden stools left," the waiter replied tactfully.
"Oh, is that so—hey, you—Sylvia’s boyfriend, you don’t mind sitting on a wooden stool, do you?" Jack Jiang asked Shawn with a smile, while the other teens looked on, clearly amused at his expense.
Sylvia Snow’s pretty face instantly turned cold. She said straight out, "Jack Jiang, what’s your deal?"
"No big deal, you heard the waiter—there’s no gold-cushioned chairs left! So, there’s nothing I can do. It’s not like I’ll make your boyfriend sit on the floor, right?" Jack Jiang shrugged, looking innocent.
"Jack Jiang, you’re just playing games, aren’t you! Screw this birthday party—I’m out! We’ll go have fun somewhere else, come on—" Yvette Liu reacted even more strongly, grabbing Shawn and Sylvia to leave.
Jack Jiang panicked, quickly stood up, and rushed over to block them, forcing a smile. "Yvette, Sylvia, I was just joking! Don’t go, okay? I’ll have the waiter find another chair for you, no problem—hehe—"
"Oh, no worries—I actually like sitting on a wooden stool. It’s nice and cool. We’re not leaving; I want to make friends with Young Master Jiang." Shawn suddenly said with a smile.
"Ha—refreshing! Really refreshing! I like making friends with guys like you! Sylvia, your boyfriend is really thoughtful! Come on, let’s hurry up and sit down!" Jack Jiang was delighted that Shawn played along, which let him move on to his next plan.
The waiter quickly brought over a long, ordinary wooden bench—the kind you’d see at a roadside food stall. Who knows where he got it, but he was clearly prepared in advance.
Shawn didn’t mind at all and sat down on the bench. But to his surprise, Sylvia Snow and Yvette Liu chimed in together, "We like sitting on benches too!"
They sat down right next to Shawn, squeezing onto the same bench. The kicker? Yvette Liu plopped herself right onto Shawn’s thigh, wrapped her arms around his neck, and grinned at Sylvia, "Hehe, Sister Sylvia, I want to sit like this—do you mind?"
"Hehe—if he doesn’t mind, it’s fine by me. It’s not like he’s losing out," Sylvia replied with a laugh.
"Hehe—Shawn, I’m the one getting the short end of the stick, so you’re getting a little bonus!" Yvette’s cheeks flushed for once, and she even wiggled her shapely behind a few times.
Shawn instantly felt her curvy, bouncy body pressing against his thigh, practically snuggling into his lap. The pose was downright suggestive, and his 'big weapon' couldn’t help but react, poking right into the dip of Yvette’s perky backside.
"Mmm—Shawn, you’re really packing some heat! Not holding back, huh? But don’t get too wild, okay? Everyone’s watching—I’m not looking to put on a live show here." Yvette could feel the action behind her. Bold as she was, she was still a virgin, and Shawn’s move made her shiver a little. She quickly whispered in his ear.
"Oh! Oh! Got it, I—uh—lost control for a sec, sorry about that—" Shawn blushed furiously and whispered back, while Sylvia just sat calmly next to them, totally unfazed by their "special situation."
The two flirted and whispered to each other, looking all lovey-dovey. The other teens stared in disbelief, sneaking glances at Jack Jiang across from them. Jack hadn’t expected things to turn out like this; he felt pretty awkward, but decided to keep his plan going and swallowed his frustration.
"Hehe—today’s Yvette’s birthday, and we’re all her good friends, so let’s celebrate! Drinks are on me—what do you all want?" Jack Jiang said with a smile.
"Beer! Let’s drink up and have a blast—" one of the guys suggested.
"Beer? That’s too weak! Tonight’s a celebration, let’s have some hard liquor!" Jack Jiang said.
"Yeah! Awesome! Hard liquor is way more exciting—let’s do it!" the guys all cheered in unison.
"Hey—you, Sylvia’s boyfriend, can you handle hard liquor? If not, I’ll order you an orange juice!" Jack Jiang teased Shawn on purpose.
The teens burst out laughing, and the guys all joked, "Come on! If you can’t handle hard liquor, are you even a man?"
"No problem! If we’re having hard liquor, let’s go with Red Star Baijiu!" Shawn had a hunch what Jack Jiang was up to, but played along.
"Nice! That’s hardcore! Red Star Baijiu is real man’s stuff! Waiter, bring us ten bottles of Red Star Baijiu!" Jack Jiang laughed and called out to the waiter.
"Got it, coming right up—" the waiter replied, heading to the bar for the drinks.
