Soon, the waiter brought over ten bottles of Red Star Baijiu and placed them on the table. Jack Jiang smiled slightly, twisted open a bottle, filled two glasses, then raised one toward Shawn and said, "Come! Uh—Shawn Young, right? I was a bit rude earlier, and you weren't petty about it. I really appreciate friends like you. Let me toast you first! Bottoms up!" As he spoke, he tipped his head back and downed the drink in one go.
Shawn picked up his own full glass of baijiu, the strong aroma immediately hitting his nose. Red Star Baijiu packs a punch at 55% alcohol—one of the most famous spirits in China. Shawn was never much of a drinker and certainly didn't have much tolerance, but he still raised his glass and said, "Alright! Cheers!"
Imitating Jack Jiang, Shawn tipped his head back and poured the Red Star Baijiu down his throat. Instantly, it felt like a ball of fire burned through his throat and into his stomach. The strong alcohol hit him hard, and his normally fair face flushed red right away. This Red Star Baijiu was seriously intense.
"Hahaha! Bold move! Let's keep going!" Jack Jiang saw Shawn's reaction and knew he couldn't hold his liquor. Feeling secretly pleased, he exchanged glances with the other guys. They caught on and each filled their own glass.
Next, a guy stood up with his glass, putting on a show of "sincerity" as he said to Shawn, "Brother Shawn, this is our first time meeting, but I really admire you—managing to win over Miss Sylvia! Let me toast you! Cheers!"
Shawn frowned slightly, filled his own glass, clinked it with the guy's, and both of them downed their drinks.
After that guy sat down, the other guys immediately started standing up one after another, constantly toasting Shawn with all sorts of "admiration and respect" nonsense.
Watching all this, Yvette Liu and Sylvia Snow sensed something was off. Sylvia quickly tugged Shawn's sleeve and whispered, "Hey Shawn, if you don't want to drink, just don't. You don't owe them anything!"
"Yeah, they're obviously trying to get you drunk and embarrass you. Don't fall for it—" Yvette Liu added quietly, sounding worried.
"It's fine! Who gets drunk is still up in the air. I've got my own way to handle them—" Shawn smiled and reassured them, looking completely calm. The two girls felt relieved and stopped trying to persuade him.
Jiang Baoshan and his crew were stunned. Despite their relentless "bombardment," Shawn Young wasn't even tipsy—in fact, his flushed face had returned to normal. And those ten bottles of Red Star Erguotou? Shawn had polished off nearly half of them himself!
Jiang Baoshan exchanged nervous glances with the guys, but he wasn’t about to back down. He burst out laughing, saying, "It’s rare to hit it off with Shawn like this—I'm thrilled! Sipping from these tiny glasses just isn’t cutting it. How about we switch to big cups? If you don’t drink, you’re not a real man!"
Jiang Baoshan kept a gentle smile on his face, but inside he was scheming: "If we switch to big cups and keep going at him, there’s no way he’ll last!"
"No need to make it so complicated! Who needs big cups? If you’re really a man, let’s just drink straight from the bottle—bottoms up, all together! What do you guys say?" Shawn waved his hand and smirked.
"Uh... isn’t that a bit much?" Jiang Baoshan and the guys looked at each other, beads of sweat popping out on their foreheads.
"Hey, Jiang Baoshan—and all you big talkers—weren’t you bragging just now about how bold you were? Now’s your chance to prove it, and you’re all suddenly silent! Chickening out, huh?" Yvette Liu shot back without mercy.
"That’s right, Jiang Baoshan! Didn’t you just say anyone who doesn’t drink isn’t a real man? What, you don’t want to drink now?" Sylvia Snow smiled sweetly, eyes twinkling as she teased.
Yvette Liu covered her mouth and giggled, whispering, "Hehe—forget it, don’t push him. Maybe he was never a real man to begin with!" The other girls couldn’t help but snicker too.
The guys quieted down. After all that drinking with Shawn, the booze was hitting them hard. If they had to start chugging straight from the bottle, it’d be the end of them! So yeah, they chickened out, and the room suddenly went awkwardly silent.
Jiang Baoshan froze, catching Shawn’s smug grin and the scornful looks from Yvette and Sylvia. His face flushed with embarrassment, and he yelled at the waiter, "Damn it! I’ll drink with Shawn till the end! Waiter, bring ten more bottles!"
The waiter rushed to the bar and quickly brought over ten more bottles of Red Star Erguotou. Shawn grabbed two in a flash, handed one to Jiang Baoshan, and laughed loudly, "Haha, Jiang, you really are a man of your word! Come on, let's drink!"
Jiang Baoshan took the bottle with a grimace, clinked it against Shawn’s, and the two of them tipped their heads back and chugged. "Gulp—gulp—gulp—" Everyone at the table watched in silence, hearing only the sound of liquor pouring down their throats, their hearts pounding.
Soon, both of them finished their bottles. Turns out, Jiang Baoshan could actually hold his liquor—he forced the burning booze down, but his face was getting paler and his mind fuzzier by the second.
"Nice! That’s the spirit! We’re friends now! Let’s go again—" Shawn grabbed two more bottles, shoved one into the swaying Jiang Baoshan’s hand, and downed his own in one go, not leaving a single drop.
"Wow—Shawn, you’re amazing! I love it!!" Yvette Liu cheered, hugging Shawn’s arm in excitement, her ample chest rubbing against him.
Sylvia Snow and the guys around the table all looked impressed. After all, bold men always catch women’s attention.
Jiang Baoshan, not wanting to lose, grabbed his bottle and tried to chug it too. But the booze in his stomach was already bubbling up—he couldn’t hold it down anymore. Before he could swallow, he suddenly gagged, spewing liquor and stomach contents everywhere. Total disaster.
"Tsk—That’s it? Lame! And look at this mess—gross! We can’t stay here, let’s go somewhere else—" Yvette Liu shouted without hesitation.
"Ugh—" Jiang Baoshan wanted to scream in frustration, but the booze hit him hard. His head spun, and he collapsed onto the sofa, completely out of it.
The guys looked super awkward, and Sylvia Snow said, "Hey, you guys—aren’t you going to help Jiang Baoshan get cleaned up and take him home to rest? He’s a mess."
"Oh—" The guys, relieved, quickly dragged Jiang Baoshan away. The girls, who were just there for the show, found excuses to slip out too.
"Heh—now it’s finally quiet. My birthday got trashed, but honestly, I’m happier than any birthday before! That was wild—Jiang Baoshan really embarrassed himself!" Yvette Liu laughed, totally pumped.
"How come you can drink so much and still be fine?" Sylvia Snow asked Shawn curiously.
"Haha, didn’t I tell you I’ve got my ways? You forgot I practice martial arts, didn’t you?" Shawn grinned. He’d been quietly using his internal energy to flush out all the booze, making it nothing more than a simple trick for him.
"Wow—your martial arts are awesome!" Sylvia’s eyes sparkled at Shawn. After all, a man with skills is always attractive.
Just then, Shawn saw a young man in a black shirt walk in. He looked ordinary, but his sharp, electric gaze and the powerful energy Shawn sensed made it clear—this guy was no regular person.
Sure enough, the man glanced around, then headed straight for the "Skinny Tiger and Fat Dragon" brothers by the dance floor. He whispered something to them, and the three quickly slipped out the southeast fire exit.
Shawn immediately sensed something was up and got curious. He stood up and said to Yvette and Sylvia, "I’m going to the bathroom. Wait here for me."
Before the girls could reply, Shawn had already hurried through the dance floor, headed for the fire exit, and slipped out.
Yvette watched Shawn leave and exclaimed, "Huh—that’s not the bathroom, it’s the back door of the KTV! Why’s he heading out the back?"
Sylvia shook her head and laughed, "Hehe—guys love to pee wherever they want. Maybe he doesn’t even know where the bathroom is, so he just went out the back to take care of business."
"Yeah, you’re right—guys are all like that! Hehe—" Yvette giggled.
But neither of them could have guessed—once Shawn left, he wouldn’t come back to the KTV. And what happened next would be way beyond anything they could imagine!
