Tracy Chen asked suspiciously, "Is that really the case?"
"Of course! That's definitely the case!" Wendy Fang mustered her courage and said, "Senior Winston isn't that kind of person!"
"Alright, alright, whatever you say. So should I come pick you up tomorrow? We still need to prepare a few things—work officially starts in three days!"
"You go ahead and prepare." Wendy Fang wasn't keen on going back; staying here meant she might see Winston Fan. If she went home, she wouldn't see him at all.
"Alright then, you rest up and I'll get things ready. If you need anything, just let me know and I'll prepare it for you," Tracy Chen said. "Besides, what doesn't the Yin Family have? We're just getting some personal items together—once we're there, they'll issue us uniforms anyway."
"Okay." Fang Ying said gloomily, "I'll hang up now."
After hanging up, Wendy Fang slumped on the sofa, feeling frustrated. She secretly prayed that Winston Fan and Yina Yin weren't in a romantic relationship.
The next day, Wendy Fang noticed that Winston Fan hadn't come by to check on her, so she took the initiative and messaged him: "Senior Winston, can you come over today? I'm bored anyway, so I made some nourishing soup. Would you like to try it?"
Winston Fan received the message while he was discussing chip technology licensing with Yina Yin.
Yina Yin put down the document in her hand and asked, "Do you have other plans?"
"Ah, it's nothing. Go ahead," Winston Fan immediately set his phone aside.
"Uncle Max replied and said we can get the first and second generation chip technology licenses, but the third generation can't be authorized for now since it's already exclusively licensed to another company. The contract has about a year and a half left. However, we can reserve the license for the fourth-generation A chip. I've already reserved it with Uncle Max, but our factory needs to keep up with the tech updates quickly." Yina Yin took out a document and handed it to Winston Fan. "Here's the license for the first and second generations. Based on current market share, our profits won't be high, so we need to focus on generations three and four. Reliable sources say the fourth-generation chip is more than halfway developed and should be ready in about a year."
Winston Fan carefully reviewed the license and nodded, "This is pretty much what I expected. Chip technology won't be outdated for the next twenty years, so we can afford to wait."
Yina Yin said, "I agree. I have another plan—discuss it with Andy Ding and Nick Ning. While we're getting the first and second generation licenses, we can also start developing our own chip technology. Of course, this will require a big investment, and we might not have enough funds. I've already spoken to my dad, and he can support me with two billion and some experts. The rest is up to you three to figure out."
Winston Fan was tempted.
Owning the technology is definitely the best.
"We'll discuss it," Winston Fan replied, leaving some room for negotiation.
Yina Yin said, "Of course. By the way, have you picked the office location yet?"
"Yes, I've decided on the 32nd floor of the Giant A Peak Building. It's quiet there," Winston Fan said. "The other places are either for self-use or already rented out, and I don't want to mix this project with the others."
"That's fine," Yina Yin nodded. "That spot is nice, but it won't be enough for R&D. No rush, we'll talk about it later. Let me brief you about the market situation..."
"We'll discuss it," Fan Wuling replied, leaving some room for negotiation.
"Let's have lunch together?" Winston Fan suggested.
"Yes, I've decided on the 32nd floor of the Giant A Peak Building. It's quiet there," Fan Wuling said. "The other places are either for self-use or already rented out, and I don't want to mix this project with the others."
"That's fine," Yin Yinuo nodded. "That spot is nice, but it won't be enough for R&D. No rush, we'll talk about it later. Let me brief you about the market situation..."
Just as Winston Fan was about to get up, his secretary came in from outside: "President Fan, there's a young lady named Wendy Fang outside. She says she's your junior from school and brought you lunch."
By the time they finished, it was already lunchtime.
"Let's have lunch together?" Fan Wuling suggested.
Since they still had more to discuss in the afternoon, having lunch together made perfect sense.
Yin Yinuo didn't make a fuss and nodded, "Okay."
Just as Fan Wuling was about to get up, his secretary came in from outside: "President Fan, there's a young lady named Fang Ying outside. She says she's your junior from school and brought you lunch."
Winston Fan: "..."
Yina Yin laughed, "Then I won't disturb you two. See you in the afternoon!"
With that, Yina Yin got up and left.
Winston Fan had his secretary bring Wendy Fang to his office. Seeing the delicate girl limping in with a huge lunchbox, he couldn't help but ask, "What are you doing?"
Wendy Fang said aggrievedly, "I sent you so many messages and you never replied."
Only then did Winston Fan notice there were over a dozen unread messages on his phone—all from Wendy Fang.
"Your leg is still injured. Why are you doing all this?" Winston Fan frowned slightly. "I don't need you to do these things."
"I know, but I'm just bored. I don't have much to repay you with, so I thought I'd cook something and bring it to you to thank you for taking me in." Wendy Fang bit her lip, looking pitiful. "If you don't need it, I'll just go home."
As soon as she finished, tears welled up in the corners of her eyes.
Winston Fan felt a headache coming on.
He really had no experience dealing with young girls.
Seeing her cry, he instinctively said, "Alright, alright, don't cry. I wasn't scolding you. Since you brought it, I'll eat it."
Wendy Fang finally smiled through her tears. "Senior, I won't do anything that makes you unhappy again."
"Mm. Have you eaten yet? If not, let's eat together." Winston Fan looked at the huge lunchbox and knew it contained a lot of food.
"Not yet," Fang Ying replied, her voice barely audible.
"Come sit over here," Winston Fan beckoned Wendy Fang to join him.
Fang Ying finally smiled, happily sitting across from Fan Wuling. She opened the lunchbox and said, "I made all of this myself. It might not be five-star hotel quality, but it definitely tastes like home."

Fan Wuling was a workaholic, rarely eating at home.
Work meals and more work meals.
It was rare for him to have such a leisurely lunch as today.
Most of the time, he ate with partners or colleagues, discussing work while eating.
Fang Ying was actually quite skilled in the kitchen. Although the presentation was lacking, the taste was good.
Fan Wuling ate quickly and was almost finished in no time.
Seeing he'd finished, Fang Ying quickly sliced a plate of fruit and brought it over. "Senior, have some fruit after your meal."
"Fang Ying, you don't have to do all this," Fan Wuling said.
"I won’t be able to do it for long anyway," Fang Ying replied softly. "In two days, I’ll be starting work. Once I start, I won’t have time anymore."
Fan Wuling said nothing and ate the fruit Fang Ying prepared.
"Senior, will you come home tonight?" Fang Ying asked tentatively.
"Not sure yet," Fan Wuling replied. "I might have to work overtime."
"Then I'll wait for you!" Wendy Fang said quickly. "No matter how late, I'll wait!"
Before Winston Fan could refuse, Wendy Fang hurried out with the lunchbox, afraid he'd say no.
In the afternoon, Yin Yinuo came by again and teased, "President Fan, you had a very happy lunch, huh?"
Winston Fan smiled lightly, "She's my junior from school. I accidentally bumped into her, so I took her to get bandaged up. She made a meal to thank me. She's a cute little girl."
Yina Yin laughed, "President Fan, you sure are lucky with women!"
"Nothing like that," Winston Fan denied flatly.
He was determined to pursue Yina Yin.
He couldn't afford to be distracted by other women.
He was very clear about that.
Yin Yinuo didn't push the issue and said, "Let's continue discussing market distribution..."
Meanwhile, Winston Fan's mother, Linda Fang, heard that Yina Yin had been spending a lot of time with Winston Fan lately. She was so delighted she couldn't stop smiling, praising Yina Yin to everyone as mature, steady, and generous—a perfect candidate for a daughter-in-law.
Soon, everyone assumed that the Yin and Fan families were about to form a marriage alliance, and they all congratulated Linda Fang.
Linda Fang was so happy she couldn't close her mouth, but she put on a modest front. "Don't jump to conclusions—nothing's set in stone yet. But our Fan Family is very sincere. As long as Gu Xixi is willing to let her daughter marry into our family, I'll make sure she's never wronged! Whenever they want kids, they can have them, and as many as they want! Any child she has will be the Fan Family heir!"
Linda Fang's words spread, making everyone even more certain that Winston Fan had the best chance.
When she got home, Fang Lingling immediately called Fan Wuling's secretary to ask, "Has Wuling been with Yinuo these past few days?"
The secretary replied, "Yes, Miss Yin has been coming to the company every day to discuss work with the president."
"Just work?" Linda Fang was dissatisfied.
What a foolish son!
Does he even know how to pursue a girl?
All he does is talk about work—who would want to marry him?
"Yes," the secretary replied. "By the way, there’s something I should report to you."
The secretary hesitated for a moment but decided to tell her.
Fang Lingling was as pampered in the Fan family as Gu Xixi was in the Yin family.
Both Yin Sicheng and Chairman Fan were famous for doting on their wives.
Otherwise, Fang Lingling wouldn’t be so bold and straightforward.
A woman’s straightforward personality usually comes from being spoiled by her family.
"Go ahead," Fang Lingling sat up straight.
"These past two days, President Fan has had a junior named Fang Ying who seems very close to him. And—" The secretary hesitated, then continued, "President Fan seems especially gentle with her. At lunch, Fang Ying even brought homemade food to the company, and President Fan had lunch with her."
"What?!" Fang Lingling's face instantly darkened.
