Roxy Shangguan frowned deeply. It seemed this time she really couldn't escape—her big brother was determined not to let her run wild anymore.
Although seeing the Divine Beast and meeting her sister-in-law made the trip worthwhile, losing her freedom because of it would be a huge loss!
So, Quentin Hua gained a new partner. He wanted to abduct Yuna and mess with Ethan Gray just to see his reaction, while Roxy Shangguan planned to use Yuna as leverage to regain her freedom. The two hit it off instantly. While Yuna went for a walk after eating her fill, Roxy entangled Ethan Gray, and Quentin set off to execute his kidnapping plan.
As usual, Yuna got lost shortly after leaving the house. She obediently squatted in place, waiting for Ethan Gray to come and fetch her. But instead, it was Quentin Hua who showed up.
To Quentin's disappointment, the little cat didn't pounce on him this time. Instead, she lazily lifted her eyelids, glanced at him, and then lowered her head to count ants again. Quentin couldn't help but wonder if the excited cat he'd met before was really this one.
"Ahem..." Quentin cleared his throat, a charming smile appearing on his face as he gently asked, "Little kitty, what are you doing?"
Yuna boredly flicked the mud off her paw and gave him a curious look. "Can't you see I'm counting ants?"
Under that gaze, Quentin almost thought he was an idiot. His smile froze for a moment, but he quickly composed himself and asked again, "Why are you counting ants here?"
Yuna simply sprawled on the ground—after all, if she got dirty, the Demon King would wash her. She glanced at Quentin, frowned, and said, "Can't you tell I'm lost? I thought you were smart!" She sized Quentin up, her face full of disappointment.
Quentin's smile froze again. Was this cat born just to annoy people? How could she be so clueless as to get lost in her own yard? How could Ethan Gray possibly like a cat like this? He seriously doubted Ethan's taste.
Taking a deep breath, Quentin kept up his stiff smile and said amiably, "You must be bored, right? How about I take you out to have some fun?"
Yuna flicked her ears and sized him up again, then suddenly said, "You look like a kidnapper!"
Quentin's mouth twitched. Did she realize she wasn't even human right now? At best, he was a catnapper... No, he was simply being kind, wanting to show her the world outside since she seemed bored. He meant well!
Quentin really couldn't smile anymore. He hadn't expected this little cat to be so difficult. If he weren't afraid of alerting Ethan Gray, he'd just kidnap her outright!
"Little kitty, Ethan Gray treats you so badly—why do you still stick with him? Come with me!"
Yuna looked at him with deep suspicion. "Are you trying to sow discord?" The Demon King would never mistreat her. He was obviously lying!
The little cat had completely forgotten that she'd once pretended to be abused by Ethan Gray.
Quentin was speechless. Sowing discord? Well, yes, he was—but this little cat was supposed to be too dumb to catch on! Was she really naive, or just pretending?
"How could I be sowing discord? Ethan Gray is Roxy's brother—we're all family."
Yuna still looked suspicious, but under Quentin's hopeful gaze, she kindly nodded and replied with an "Oh." That was the end of it.
Quentin was quite frustrated. Apparently, abducting this little cat was much harder than he'd imagined, but he wasn't about to give up. Still, her mind really seemed different from a human's—how was he supposed to get close to her now? Even his charm wasn't working.
After thinking it over, Quentin said, "Little kitty, it's our first meeting. What kind of welcome gift do you want?" He flashed another friendly, dazzling smile.
Yuna's eyes turned into little hearts, but just as Quentin thought she'd fallen for his charm, she suddenly became wary. Quentin was baffled. "What's wrong?" He honestly doubted this little cat's personality—no, her 'cat-sonality'—was split!
Yuna, with her furry little face serious, said, "Mother said, 'When someone is overly attentive for no reason, they're either a thief or up to no good.' You may be beautiful, but don't think you can get away with crime just because of your looks!"
Quentin nearly spat blood. Who exactly was this little cat's 'Mother'? Back when Roxy always quoted her 'Mama,' he found it cute, but now Yuna's 'Mother said' was just infuriating!
Finally letting out the breath he'd been holding, Quentin tried again, "I know a place with lots of delicious food. How about I take you there to eat?"
At the mention of food, Yuna was tempted. Even though she'd just eaten, she couldn't help but swallow and ask, "Is the Demon King going too?"
Seeing his plan finally working, Quentin breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed food was the key to dealing with this little cat. "Ethan Gray is very busy. Roxy and I will take you to eat, and when he's free, he'll come find you!" Hmph! If he can even find her!
Yuna instantly dropped her greedy look and snorted, "You think I'm an idiot? Don't think I don't know what's going on."
Quentin felt dizzy. Why did she suddenly pull back again? What exactly did she know?
Yuna lifted her chin proudly. "Just because there's food doesn't mean the Demon King will be there. But if the Demon King is there, there will definitely be food." She stood up, shook the dirt from her fur, and declared grandly, "So I'm sticking with the Demon King!"
Quentin's temple twitched. He finally decided to use force and quickly reached out to grab Yuna.
Yuna dodged nimbly, wearing a look that said she saw this coming. "I knew you were up to no good! So beautiful, but so dark-hearted—you won't even spare a cat! You're a true femme fatale. The Demon King is still better!"
Roxy Shangguan wanted to cry but had no tears. Sister-in-law, can you give me a break? She glanced at Ethan Gray, who was smiling, and felt a bit relieved. It seemed her big brother was in a good mood, so maybe he'd go easy on her.
