Seeing the person suddenly appear before her like a ghost, Roxy Shangguan's smile froze. "Lynn Yee, you dare block my way!" As expected, everyone around her brother was more eccentric than the last. Where did this Lynn Yee come from? Even she hadn't noticed his presence—the art of hiding was truly impressive!
Lynn Yee's so-called Soul Reaper eyes flickered with a hint of purple light. He smiled and said, "I wouldn't dare, Your Highness. Please don't make things difficult for me." He was only worried about getting dragged into trouble, so he disappeared for a while. Unexpectedly, he was forgotten. Sigh... It seemed he really wasn't that important!
Seeing a trace of grievance on Lynn Yee's face, which was no less handsome than Quentin Hua's, Roxy Shangguan's mouth twitched. She hadn't even started to feel aggrieved! It looked like her brother had no intention of letting them off at all!
Quentin Hua was much more laid-back. He wrapped his arm around Roxy Shangguan's waist and laughed, "Trouble the envoy to lead the way!" He hadn't expected to leave so easily, but that was fine. If he was going to leave, he'd take Gong Chenyu's precious little beast with him. Let’s see how arrogant he’d be then!
Roxy Shangguan shot Lynn Yee a glare and said irritably, "Just don't really take us to hell, Soul Reaper Envoy!"
"I wouldn't dare!" Lynn Yee kept his smile, but inside he couldn't help sighing. So what if he'd killed a few more people? Who in the martial world hadn't killed? Why was he the only one stuck with the title of Soul Reaper Envoy? He really wanted to shout, "Unfair!"
In the side courtyard of the Grandmaster's Estate, miserable screams echoed continuously. Roxy Shangguan looked on with sympathy, Quentin Hua with a smile. The more ruthless Gong Chenyu was, the easier it would be for him to steal that divine beast. He shook his head and sighed inwardly—men who didn’t know how to be gentle were truly terrifying!
In reality, inside the tightly shut room, Yuna lay on the bed, wailing louder and louder. Gong Chenyu stood by the bedside, arms crossed, watching her performance, both amused and helpless.
Finally, Yuna tired herself out, stopped to catch her breath, and secretly glanced at Gong Chenyu. She scooted over and leapt onto him, clutching his collar with her paws, hanging from his chest. Looking up at him pitifully, she pleaded, "Big Bad Demon King, you’ve already hit me. Can you please not make me drink plain porridge?"
Gong Chenyu supported her little swaying body, raised an eyebrow, and said, "When did I ever hit you?" If he remembered right, the little kitten had slipped out of his arms as soon as she entered the room, jumped on the bed, and started wailing. He hadn’t even had a chance to do anything yet.
Yuna twisted her body and pouted, "I don't care, everyone already knows you hit me!"
Gong Chenyu raised his eyebrow, looking at her as if to say, 'I've really been framed by you!' He didn't know whether to laugh or be angry. So all that miserable screaming was just so everyone would think he was the villain? And now she wanted him to believe it too? Gong Chenyu poked her on the head, really wanting to see what was inside her mind.
Still, he really had calmed down.
Seeing the dried blood on her paw, Gong Chenyu's face darkened. "No next time!"
Yuna nodded quickly. A smart person knows when to swallow their pride—especially when good food is involved!
As Gong Chenyu carried her outside, Yuna clung to his collar and asked, "Where are we going?"
Gong Chenyu brought her paw up to her eyes. Yuna glanced at it, then quickly retracted her paw and rubbed it against his clothes, muttering, "It does feel a bit uncomfortable."
There was a hot spring in the side courtyard. Yuna had grown used to her animal body and wouldn’t embarrass herself by choking on water anymore, but she still didn’t like doing things for herself.
Letting Gong Chenyu wash her paw, Yuna yawned. The soak was so comfortable she was getting sleepy.
By the time Gong Chenyu finished washing her paw, Yuna was already dreaming. Gong Chenyu shook his head helplessly. Sleeping in the water, eating after sleeping, and making trouble whenever she could—never a moment’s peace. And yet, he’d fallen for this 'good-for-nothing' little kitten. He almost wanted to sigh, 'The world really is a strange place!'
Yuna smacked her little mouth, rubbed her wet head against him, and continued sleeping. Her head drooped, half her face sinking into the water. Gong Chenyu quickly lifted her up so she wouldn’t drown in her sleep, helplessly muttering, "Such a silly cat!" Yet his lips curled up and his eyes softened with unbidden tenderness.
From a distant pavilion, Roxy Shangguan squinted at the scene and asked the person next to her suspiciously, "Quentin, do you really think Big Brother could bear to mistreat Sister-in-law?" The earlier cries were so miserable, but now the scene was so warm—how could things change so quickly?
So she was doubtful about the whole mistreatment thing. Besides, Father would never mistreat Mother, so as his son, Big Brother definitely wouldn't mistreat Sister-in-law either.
She’d even worried for a moment, but clearly it was for nothing!
Quentin stroked his chin thoughtfully. Gong Chenyu was indeed so gentle it gave people goosebumps, but if he hadn’t done anything, how could that silly little kitten have cried so miserably?
Just as he was thinking this, Gong Chenyu’s gaze shot straight in their direction. Clearly, they’d been discovered.
Gong Chenyu frowned. His little sister had always been a handful, and after getting married, she’d become even more troublesome—all thanks to Quentin. If he’d known, he never would have let her grow up by Quentin’s side.
Suddenly, Gong Chenyu carried Yuna out of the hot spring. Quentin quickly covered Roxy Shangguan’s eyes, his face darkening. Gong Chenyu knew perfectly well that Roxy was watching, yet he just walked out like that—did he really think his figure was so great? Well… it was pretty good, but Quentin still thought his own was better, and if Roxy was going to look, she should only look at him!
Gong Chenyu dried off the little kitten who was fast asleep, put her on the bed, covered her with a blanket, then went to find Quentin and Roxy Shangguan.
"You have two choices: First, take back the Cloud Guild willingly. Second, I’ll make you take it back whether you want to or not."
Roxy Shangguan rolled her eyes. "Brother, why are you so set on forcing the Cloud Guild onto me?"
