Farewell to Madam Yun

1/4/2026

Mr. Mo's assistant was even more cheerful: "Alright then, I'll take the two young masters home first. The old gentleman is already getting anxious."

"Okay." Cecilia Gu smiled and waved goodbye.

After everyone else had left, Julia Yu approached with a smile and greeted her: "Mrs. Yin, it's been a while."

"It's been a while." Cecilia laughed, "You're still the same, haven't changed a bit."

Julia Yu smiled, "You too. Where should we go first?"

"Let's go home first." Cecilia glanced at her watch and said, "We can meet up with Zixin and Zixuan for a meal later."

"Alright." Julia Yu took the initiative to help with the luggage. Everyone got into the spacious car and sped off to the Yun Family residence.

As expected, Cecilia's return home was met with a warm welcome from everyone at the Yun Family. The whole family spent a long time chatting affectionately.

Now the children had all grown up, Cecilia's career was steadily on track, and everything was becoming wonderful.

After dinner, Cecilia went to see Grandma Yun.

Mrs. Yun pulled Cecilia aside and whispered, "Your grandmother's health isn't good this year. Be gentle with her."

Cecilia's smile faded and she nodded softly, "I know, I'll be careful."

"That's good." Although Mrs. Yun was still a little worried, she let her daughter go.

She knew her daughter must have something important to discuss this time.

And this matter couldn't be discussed over the phone—it was best handled face to face.

Cecilia went up to the attic again. As soon as she entered, she smelled the strong scent of something burning and a faint trace of decay in the air.

Ever since her sister's child was born, Grandma's health and spirit had declined sharply.

Her health had already been poor, and now it was even worse.

With Grandma like this, Adrian probably isn't doing much better either, right?

After all, one is an Astrologer, the other is the High Priest.

Lost in thought, Cecilia walked into the room and sat down on the small couch in front of her grandmother. She spoke softly, "Grandma, I'm back."

Grandma Yun gently raised her eyelids and nodded slightly. She had known Cecilia would return—and she also knew the reason for her visit.

"Grandma, how is your health?" Cecilia asked quietly.

"It's just as it is. Birth, aging, sickness, and death—no one can escape these rules. Don't worry, I won't die until little Sharon grows up."

"Grandma, that's not what I meant." Cecilia felt a bit sad. It sounded as if she was asking when Grandma would die.

"I know. I just wanted to make it clear in simple words—I'm not dying yet." Grandma Yun's face looked even more ashen, and the lines on her face deepened.

She was aging faster and faster.

"Grandma, Sharon is already one year old, but she doesn't seem like a normal baby to me. My sister hasn't said anything, but I know she's worried too. Is this normal? You're our family's former Astrologer, so I can only ask you."

"There's nothing abnormal about it," Grandma Yun said calmly. "As long as she's alive, that's normal."

Cecilia: "..."

Well, if even Grandma says so, then it must be normal, right?

"Also, I want to ask you—can you figure out where Adrian is?" Cecilia asked.

Adrian had vanished without a trace for a whole year, as if he'd never existed.

But Cecilia and Molly Yun knew Adrian wasn't someone who would give up so easily.

If he'd really given up, he wouldn't have sent that gift at the baby's full moon banquet.

It was obvious—Adrian was still watching everyone.

As the saying goes, it's not the thief you fear, but the thief who keeps thinking about you.

Now, both Cecilia and Molly Yun were just worried Adrian was still fixated on Sharon, and might steal the child when they weren't looking.

After all, stealing a child is a lot easier than stealing Molly Yun herself.

Cecilia had used Yin Enterprises' intelligence network to search for a long time, but hadn't found even a ripple.

So, Cecilia couldn't help herself and decided to ask her grandmother. Maybe there was some magical connection between them and she could sense Adrian's presence?

But Grandma Yun shook her head and said, "I can't figure it out. If I could, Adrian and I would have met long ago."

Cecilia realized that made sense.

Although the Shadow Tribe and the Yun Family share the same origins, they've been separated for thousands of years. Not knowing about each other's existence is normal.

Seeing Cecilia so worried, Grandma Yun spoke: "Destined fate can't be changed. Whatever tribulation awaits her, no one can avoid it. You're just worrying for nothing."

Cecilia blushed, "You're right."

"Anything else?" Grandma Yun asked.

Cecilia thought for a moment, then shook her head.

"I'm tired," Grandma Yun said bluntly, dismissing her.

"I'll head back then," Cecilia immediately stood up and left the room.

As Cecilia closed the door, Grandma Yun suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood, her whole complexion visibly wilting.

How could she not want to find Adrian herself?

How could she be willing to see Adrian take away the Yun Family's next Astrologer?

Unfortunately, she's grown old and her powers aren't what they used to be.

Just now, she had tried to divine Adrian's whereabouts by force, but not only did she fail, the backlash from the spell injured her again.

But she didn't plan to let Cecilia know.

Some things just aren't necessary for the children to know.

Grandma Yun wiped the blood from her lips and leaned gently against the couch, her breathing so shallow that if not for its faint presence, one might think she had passed away.

After returning, Cecilia shook her head at Mrs. Yun, signaling that she hadn't gotten any answers.
