Mo Zixuan stepped forward, took Cecilia Gu’s hand, and said with a beaming smile, “Yeah, it’s fun to play once in a while! Yesterday I was here and saw someone open a piece of emerald with my own eyes! That person was so lucky, scored a real bargain.”
Cecilia Gu smiled and said, “Didn’t you used to dislike jade? You should’ve told me earlier—I have a set of emerald jewelry my grandmother gave me for my birthday. I hardly ever wear jade, so I’ll look for it and give it to you.”
“Forget it! The things from Madam Yin aren’t ordinary stuff. You should keep them! It’s not like I’m obsessed with jade, I’m just here for fun.” Mo Zixuan glanced around, lowered her voice, and said, “You know how chaotic things are at the Jing family right now. I’m deliberately finding something to do so I don’t have to go back and deal with their drama. You have no idea—fighting over the inheritance, all sorts of nonsense popping up. If I weren’t from the Mo family, they’d try to drag me into it! My brother even told the Jing family not to get me involved no matter what. So I just made up an excuse and went home for a while. Since I’ve got nothing better to do, I came here to play at stone gambling. My brother’s got money to spare—he gave me tens of millions just to have fun buying stones.”
“True,” Cecilia Gu nodded. “Luckily, Jing Rong has his own plans. He’s been doing his own thing for years and rarely gets involved with the Jing family. None of those brothers are easy to deal with.”
“Exactly.” Mo Zixuan sighed. “Back then, I was tricked into it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have wanted to marry into such a messy family.”
“You’re doing fine,” Cecilia Gu laughed. “Jing Rong listens to your every word—what more could you want? Besides, Jing Rong is the youngest, and his brothers are all over twenty years older than him, so he was never in a good position. Still, I think your father-in-law favors Jing Rong. Not fighting is the best way to fight. Jing Rong’s doing the right thing by staying out of it.”
“That’s what I think too.” Mo Zixuan grinned. “Even if we don’t get control of the Jing family business, we’ll still get shares. When the year-end dividends come, we won’t have to worry about a thing. Then we can do our own stuff—the days won’t be hard. Plus, with my brother’s help, in a few years we’re planning to move some of the company’s business back to China. The domestic market’s booming now, just as good as overseas. Only a fool would pass up such a big opportunity. My brother and Jing Rong are both expanding—Mo family business is moving into the UK, Jing Rong’s career is heading to China. When both sides settle in, the Jing family drama should be over. Then Jing Rong and I plan to officially move back and put down roots.”
“That’s great news.” Cecilia Gu smiled. “We should celebrate. Finally, we’ll all be together again.”
After that, the two best friends exchanged a smile.
Over the years, both Cecilia Gu and Mo Zixuan had grown a lot.
Cecilia Gu, who used to be naïve and sweet, was now a competent vice president and the perfect Mrs. Yin.
Mo Zixuan had also grown into an accomplished daughter-in-law of a powerful family and a capable businesswoman.
The two of them chatted about family matters while admiring the raw stone exhibition, and time flew by quickly.
“Hey, see if there’s any stone you like. If you want one, just buy it.” Mo Zixuan said, “My brother gave me a card with no limit! If he finds out you spent his money, he’ll be over the moon.”
Cecilia Gu chuckled, “It’s not like I don’t have money. Why would I need to spend his?”
“That’s not the same. I’m not short of money either!” Mo Zixuan replied with a mischievous grin. “But spending your own money and spending someone else’s is totally different. Spending someone else’s money makes you feel spoiled!”
Before marriage, Mo Zixuan was the pampered young lady of the Mo family.
So even after getting married, the Mo family still doted on her just like before. Whether she needed money or not, they just kept giving.
Even if Mo Zixuan did nothing but spend money every day, she’d never run out in this lifetime.
So Cecilia Gu happily helped Mo Zixuan spend her money.
The two of them casually picked out a pile of raw stones and then found someone to cut them open.
Cecilia Gu didn’t buy much, just ten pieces for fun.
Mo Zixuan picked out more than a hundred pieces in one go.
It would take a lot of time to open all those stones, so they only chose three or four to cut.
The first one to be cut was the stone Cecilia Gu bought.
The stone-cutting master asked how to cut it, and Cecilia Gu casually gestured, “Try cutting it this way.”
The master nodded and followed Cecilia’s directions. With one cut, the onlookers started shouting, “Wow, it’s green! It’s green! It’s glass jade! It’s actually glass jade!”
Cecilia Gu was stunned.
She really did just buy it randomly!
She hadn’t expected to get green jade at all.
It looked like it was really high quality, too.
Mo Zixuan was even more excited than Cecilia Gu, shouting, “Xixi, your luck is amazing! First try and you get glass jade! Oh my god, let me touch your hand—I want to get glass jade too!”
At that moment, a crowd gathered around, all talking at once: “Miss, are you selling this? With a piece this size, I’ll give you thirty million—sell it to me!”
“You’re too sly! Such a big stone and you only offer thirty million? You think young girls are easy to fool? Miss, sell it to me—I’ll offer fifty million!”
“I’ll pay sixty million!”
“Sixty-five million!”
“Seventy million!”
In the end, the bidding for this stone reached ninety million!
Cecilia Gu gasped, “Is stone gambling really this profitable?”
Danni Company’s quarterly revenue report was just a little over a hundred million, and this stone alone was almost the company’s entire quarterly revenue!

“Exactly! That’s why it’s called stone gambling.” Mo Zixuan grinned. “It’s all about the thrill.”
Cecilia Gu apologized to the others, “Sorry, I’m not selling this stone.”
It was the first time she’d ever gotten such high-quality jade from stone gambling, so she wanted to keep it to carve some trinkets for the elders at home.
Whether it was her parents from the Yun family, Madam Yin from her in-laws, or her uncle’s family and other relatives, she wanted to gift them all something.
When everyone saw Cecilia Gu really didn’t want to sell, they left looking disappointed.
Seeing Cecilia Gu’s lucky start, Mo Zixuan got excited and had all her stones cut open.
But Mo Zixuan wasn’t as lucky as Cecilia Gu—the first two were duds, and the last one only yielded bean jade.
Since this quality was pretty common, there weren’t many interested buyers.
Anyway, neither Cecilia Gu nor Mo Zixuan were short on money, so they just kept the stones for themselves.
After they finished cutting the stones, the rest they planned to open slowly at home for fun.
Anyway, buying a stone-cutting machine isn’t expensive—they could just play with it at home.
The two wandered around, enjoyed the lively atmosphere, and got ready to go somewhere else for tea.
Just then, a tall, slender man in a bright red suit with a black handkerchief folded in his breast pocket, and an air of elegance, suddenly stopped them: “Excuse me, ladies.”
Cecilia Gu and Mo Zixuan looked up together and nodded politely. “What can we do for you, sir?”
The man looked around thirty, about the same age as Cecilia and Mo Zixuan, and was very well maintained. Except for a faint wrinkle at the corner of his eye, his figure and skin were no different from a young man in his early twenties.
His arrival drew a lot of attention from people nearby.
You had to admit, he was really good-looking. Yes, in the literal sense—a pretty boy.
But not the sickly pale kind—he was the type that looked pampered and well cared for.
Cecilia Gu and Mo Zixuan were used to seeing top-tier looks, so they just nodded politely and didn’t show any sign of being impressed or interested.
“I’d like to discuss the price of that raw stone with you both.” The man smiled. “I’m here with genuine intentions. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself—my name is Qu Zhengming, I’m a Malaysian Chinese. My family is in electronics and car manufacturing. I’m the ninth-ranked heir of the Qu family.”
Cecilia Gu and Mo Zixuan exchanged a look: Oh, so he’s not just a pretty boy! A rich guy dressed like this—there’s really no explaining it.
“Malaysia?” Cecilia Gu suddenly remembered—didn’t Hans have a base there too…
Ah, her mind was wandering too far.
“Yes, I rarely come here, but I didn’t expect China to have such outstanding beauties.” Qu Zhengming gave a flourish and bowed. “But for this stone to be in your hands, it must be fate.”
Cecilia Gu and Mo Zixuan looked at him speechlessly.
“Mr. Qu, I’m very sorry, but I already said I’m not selling this stone,” Cecilia Gu replied.
“Won’t you at least hear my offer first?” Qu Zhengming wasn’t giving up, still trying to persuade Cecilia Gu. “I have my reasons for wanting this stone. But I don’t think this is the right place to talk—could we step outside and discuss?”
Mo Zixuan whispered in Cecilia Gu’s ear, “There are lots of rich people in Malaysia, and the Qu family is an old name. My brother does business with them—this family’s interesting.”
Cecilia Gu blinked in sudden understanding.
Most of the Yin family’s business was in Africa and Europe. They had some dealings in Southeast Asia, but hadn’t expanded much there.
But the Mo family was different.
The Mo family’s business locations complemented the Yin family’s, so they had more operations in the southern hemisphere.
So Mo Zixuan immediately understood who he was.
Since he was a well-known heir, Cecilia Gu naturally wouldn’t embarrass him, so she nodded and said, “Alright.”
