I Am His Big Brother

"If I forced him to leave Little Shrimp behind, it wouldn't be impossible," Tanya Quinn said. "But it would cut off Little Shrimp's great fortune. What do you think?"

Lily Bai calmed down a bit. "That's true! Sorry, Divine Lord, I just..."

"Before he became Evernight, he loved playing with children. All the kids in Cangwu adored him," Tanya Quinn said. "His heart is actually very pure—he just... fell into demonic deviation for a while."

Lily Bai looked at her. "Divine Lord, are you... really going to marry High God Liam Leshan?"

"Yes. The wedding date was set long ago," Tanya Quinn replied, frowning almost imperceptibly.

Lily Bai: "Then... Divine Lord, please take me back to the Sigil Sect. It's way too far from here—if I flew by myself, it would take years..."

Tanya Quinn was silent for a moment, then said, "Alright, I'll take you back."

She took Lily Bai and flew away from the desert.

When she came, she used Swiftstride to get here.

When using Swiftstride, all she could see were streaks of mottled light—no scenery at all.

This time, Divine Lord Tanya Quinn was flying.

She seemed lost in thought, and wasn't flying very fast.

Lily Bai saw that the distant sky ahead was dark and cold.

She couldn't forget that aura.

It was the aura near Yellow Springs Volcano.

"Divine Lord, is that Yellow Springs Volcano over there?" Lily Bai couldn't help asking.

Tanya Quinn: "Mm."

"So we really did come here," Lily Bai said. "Do you think that door we dug up underground could actually be the Gate of Hell?"

Tanya Quinn said, "No. But the Underworld is a strange place—maybe it really is related to it."

"What was Lord Evernight trying to do by digging up that door?"

Tanya Quinn shook her head. "No idea."

As she spoke, she stopped on a cloud, gazing off toward Yellow Springs Volcano, lost in heavy thought.

Lily Bai guessed she was probably worried Lord Evernight really would do something reckless.

She couldn't help with any of it, so she just kept Tanya company in silence.

Outside the Sigil Sect.

Baxa was about to collapse.

Rumor had it the Sigil Sect's barrier incorporated shards of the Elderworld Bell—absolutely unbreakable.

Turns out, the rumors were true.

His plan to break through the barrier and sneak inside? Impossible.

After thinking it over, he simply changed his appearance and walked openly up to the gate.

The Sigil Sect's gate disciples appeared, asking who he was and what business he had there.

Baxa said he was looking for Nine Li.

"If you know Senior Brother Nine Li, just contact him directly and have him come greet you," said the Sigil Sect disciple.

"I do know him, but I don't have a communication talisman. Could you please pass word to him?" said Baxa.

"May I ask your name?"

Baxa said, "Just tell him... I'm his big brother."

The disciples exchanged glances. "And your name is...?"

"Just say that. He'll know. Why so many questions?" Baxa was losing patience.

The two disciples were startled by his sudden burst of aura.

In the end, they went to report.

When Nine Li heard their description, his heart skipped a beat.

He shot out the door—sure enough, it really was his big brother Baxa!

Even though Baxa was in disguise, Nine Li recognized him instantly.

"Senior Brother Nine Li, this guy says he's your big brother!" The gate disciple was sure he was a fraud.

"That's right," said Nine Li. "You two go on with your business!"

Only then did the two disciples leave.

Nine Li grabbed Baxa and pulled him into a hidden spot. "Brother! Why did you just show up at the Sigil Sect gate? Don't you know this place is full of Rune Masters? They can open their Heaven's Eye and see your real body!"
