"His Majesty the Demon Emperor sent me to the Sigil Sect. Since I couldn't get in, I came to find you," Baxa said. "Can you get me inside?"

"Why did he send you to the Sigil Sect?"

"He didn't say," Baxa replied.

Nine Li: "Huh?"

Baxa smiled, "Can you take me inside?"

"Sure!" Nine Li said. "But you showed yourself here before at the Sigil Sect—lots of people recognize you... Hold on a sec."

He took off the round jade token he wore close to his skin and handed it to Baxa: "Wear this, and no one will see your true form."

Baxa raised an eyebrow, "Aren't you worried I might have ulterior motives in there?"

"Our Sigil Sect is just a tiny immortal sect—there's nothing worth scheming over," Nine Li grinned meaningfully. "Besides, I actually know why he sent you."

"Oh?"

"He probably wants to be my brother-in-law!" Nine Li raised his eyebrows with a wicked grin. "He sent you to protect the Sigil Sect first, hahaha!"

Baxa couldn't help but laugh, "How are you so sharp?"

"Come on, bro!" Nine Li dragged him toward his place. "From now on, you can come and go in the Sigil Sect whenever you want—just like it's your own home!"

...

Lily Bai waited on the clouds for a while. Finally, Divine Lord Tanya Quinn snapped out of her daze and flew her toward the Sigil Sect.

Not long after, a figure appeared ahead—dressed in black, standing alone, dazzlingly handsome, radiating an aura that seemed to look down on the world and struck a powerful chord in the heart.

Lily Bai grinned.

Damian Black.

Was he here for her?

"Divine Lord." But he didn't even glance at her—instead, he spoke only to Divine Lord Tanya Quinn.

Tanya Quinn rubbed her temples, exasperated: "Seriously? You actually chased me all the way here?"

"You accepted my Wind-Plume Feather, so why not keep your promise?"

Tanya sent him a sound transmission: "I've been thinking it over... Maybe let's wait a bit longer! When you're sure you can clear her name, then let her know—no rush!"

"I can wait. But the Celestial Empress can't." Damian Black replied. "She'll never let Lily off the hook."

"Come on, it's not that bad, is it? She just looks a little similar!" Divine Lord Tanya Quinn tried to joke.

"After what you did at the Guardian Drake Lord’s Manor, do you really think she won’t suspect anything?" Damian Black shook his head. "She’ll definitely get suspicious—and start testing us."

Tanya was about to say something when suddenly, someone contacted her through the Phoenix Feather Hairpin.

A voice came through the hairpin, audible only to Tanya: "Divine Lord, something’s up."

Tanya glanced at Damian Black and Lily Bai. "I need to take this call." She walked off to find some privacy.

Lily Bai flashed Damian Black a bright smile. "Long time no see!"

Damian Black stared at her, completely silent.

"I learned something new at Drake Abyss." Lily Bai said cheerfully. "Turns out you’re the Fifth Highness of Drake Abyss!"

Damian Black: "So what?"

"Why does everything have to be about 'so what'?" Lily Bai bit her lip. "I just wanted to chat, catch up a little."

He stayed silent again.

He looked like he was brooding over something.

Lily Bai floated over and stopped right in front of him. "By the way, thanks for helping me out the other day."

Damian Black eyed her. "Helping? Didn’t I just ruin your perfect marriage setup?"

"Absolutely not!" Lily Bai blurted out. "I already turned down Fourth Highness! I swear! Actually, I never said yes in the first place—it’s just my family’s drama hanging over me..."

She rambled on, then suddenly lost steam.
