"Smash my head open? Jason Liu, are you out of your mind! You still dare to talk like that now?" Hearing Jason Liu's words, Luke Lu's expression shifted several times.
Beside him, Sharon Shen immediately frowned. "You're really overestimating yourself!"
As they were talking, several vans pulled up nearby. The doors slid open, and Grizzly’s massive frame stepped out, looking like a human wall.
He swept his gaze around, then led his crew toward Hugh Hu.
Grizzly, who’d been running several KTV joints lately, looked extra fierce. Stopping beside Hugh Hu, he nodded slightly: "I'm here. So, who do you want dealt with?"
"That’s him." Hugh Hu crossed his arms and looked straight at Evan Lin.
Grizzly and his men all turned to look that way.
When Grizzly saw Evan Lin, a hint of surprise flashed across his face. He hadn’t expected the guy Hugh Hu wanted to go all out against would be this young—and there were only two of them!
"So you’re the one who messed with Hugh?" Grizzly squinted at Evan Lin. "You don’t look tall, but you’ve got guts."
"Now get over here. However Hugh wants to hit or curse you, you just take it. Otherwise..."
At this, Grizzly let out a cold snort. His crew immediately caught on, each one looking menacing as they moved toward Evan Lin and Hugh Hu, surrounding them.
These guys all carried themselves with a calm, dangerous air—clearly, they’d seen some real action before.
"Evan Lin, let’s see you act tough now! Damn it, last time you embarrassed my parents—try calling your backer again if you’ve got the guts!" Chen Ren, seeing their numbers, suddenly felt emboldened.
"Chen Ren, right? I only spared Kong Tianhua some face last time because he’s my mom’s old classmate. Looks like none of your family learned their lesson. I give you face, but you don’t want it." Evan Lin said coolly, glancing at Chen Ren.
But even that simple glance made Chen Ren instinctively stumble backward. Not noticing the rock behind him, he lost his balance and fell, landing painfully on his backside.
"Get up, damn it! Useless coward—he just looked at you and you folded like a dog?" Hugh Hu’s face darkened. He kicked Chen Ren, looking utterly disappointed.
Chen Ren scrambled to his feet.
Grizzly felt a flicker of doubt deep down, but with a gun in his pocket, he figured he had nothing to fear.
"Cut the crap. You’ve got two choices here. One: admit you’re wrong and apologize—don’t act cocky in front of me. Two: I’ll have my boys make you kneel and apologize!" Grizzly said coldly, fingering the gun in his pocket as he spoke.
"Jason Liu, try acting tough again! Screw you!" Luke Lu cursed, then reached out and gave Sharon Shen’s waist a hard squeeze, earning an annoyed glare from her.
He looked smugly at Jason Liu. "See? The girl you like is in my arms now. What do you think? I can touch her however I want. And you think you can smash my head in? What a joke!"
Jason Liu gripped his folding baton tightly. Evan Lin glanced around and spoke calmly: "Enough talk. If you want to come at me, come all at once."
As soon as Evan finished, Grizzly’s face darkened. "Refusing a toast, huh!"
With that, the crowd instantly rushed toward Evan Lin and Jason Liu, who were surrounded.
Jason Liu gritted his teeth, about to charge forward, but Evan Lin stopped him with a hand.
In the instant Jason Liu hesitated, Evan Lin put one hand behind his back and stepped forward. With just a flick of his wrist, no fancy moves, he dropped each attacker with a single punch—everyone he hit went straight down, completely out cold.
In just a few breaths, all the thugs who’d been standing were now lying neatly on the ground, not a single one conscious enough to even groan.
Luke Lu’s grin froze; Sharon Shen’s eyes went wide. Even Chen Ren and Hugh Hu, who’d expected Evan to be strong, were shocked at how easily he flattened dozens of men.
"Your turn."
Evan Lin’s gaze was calm as he looked at Grizzly and walked toward him.
Grizzly’s face twisted. He pulled a handgun from his pocket and aimed it straight at Evan Lin!
"You’d better not move!"
Grizzly spoke coldly.
When he pulled out the gun, Luke Lu and the others all jumped, clearly shaken. Hugh Hu’s face went dark, his eyes locked on Evan Lin.
"A gun?"
Evan Lin raised an eyebrow. Since his rebirth, he’d only ever faced martial artists—but this was his first time up against a gun.
"This Desert Eagle could blow your head clean off. I never thought you’d be able to drop all my men single-handed!" Grizzly’s eyes flickered as he licked his lips, still a bit rattled.
"No matter how good you are at fighting, it doesn’t mean a thing against hot weapons!"
"You dare shoot?" Evan Lin looked at Grizzly standing in front of him and snorted.
"Go ahead and try!"
Grizzly was about to say something, but everyone saw Evan Lin, standing right in front of him, suddenly move.
Hands in his pockets, Evan strolled forward without a care.
"Don’t move! I said stop right there!"
Grizzly’s face changed. He gripped his gun even tighter, the muzzle aimed dead at Evan Lin.
"Go ahead and shoot."
Evan Lin reached out and pressed his finger right against the gun’s muzzle, his face totally calm.
"Are you stupid, or have you watched too many movies and read too many novels? You think pressing a finger to the muzzle will make the gun backfire?"
Watching Evan Lin, Hugh Hu couldn’t help sneering. "I’ve seen you fight Guang Zhengping before, and I know maybe none of us can take you. But the power of a Desert Eagle isn’t something a kid like you can understand!"
"Don’t worry, I’m not going to kill you—that’d be way too much trouble. But since you’ve got the guts to show up today, you’re going to learn a lesson!"
Hugh Hu grinned, looked around for a steel rod, crouched to pick it up, and started toward Evan Lin with bad intentions—when suddenly, the urgent roar of an engine sounded from behind.
Hugh Hu frowned and turned to look—a black Hongqi sedan was heading their way. The car itself was nothing special, but the white military plate starting with a ‘K’ made Hugh’s heart sink.
