Grizzly and his crew left the KTV, packed three or four dozen men into several vans, and sped straight toward Peiying High School.
On the way, Grizzly sent a message to Hugh Hu. Receiving it, Hugh glared coldly at Evan Lin, who was walking out of the venue with Selina Shi and Jason Liu, his face dark and twisted as he gripped his phone, itching to rush over and beat Evan up then and there.
“Just watch with Hugh later—this kid, even if he doesn’t die tonight, he’ll get skinned alive.” Luke Qiu glanced at Hugh, seeing the obvious hatred for Evan in his eyes.
“And Sharon Shen, from now on, just pretend you don’t know guys like Jason Liu, got it? Otherwise, who knows when he’ll drag you down with him.” Luke Qiu hooked his arm around Sharon’s as he spoke.
Sharon nodded, "Got it, got it."
As Selina Shi led Evan Lin and Jason Liu out of the venue, the students blocking their way instinctively stepped aside, not daring to get in front of them.
In a corner of the hall, Leo Liu sighed and shook his head, looking in Evan’s direction with some surprise: “Ivy, I didn’t expect your school’s transfer student would actually know Selina Shi. If Warren Wu were here, seeing Evan walking so close to Selina, he’d have beaten him so badly his own mother wouldn’t recognize him.”
Beside Leo, Ivy Liang kept a cool face and said nothing. She’d come tonight mainly worried that Lynn Chen would steal Leo, but Lynn had left early, and the boy she’d barely noticed at first—Evan Lin—kept breaking expectations and drawing everyone’s attention.
After leaving the hall, Selina Shi changed into a white T-shirt and denim jacket, topped with a baseball cap—instantly returning to her laid-back Minghai style.
"You didn’t come all the way to Capitalview just to watch our school’s arts gala, did you?" Selina asked curiously.
