He Is the Demon Emperor
Just now, Serena Summers said Little Fish liked his looks, so she guessed he couldn’t be bad-looking—but she hadn’t expected him to look this good.
In terms of looks, Fourth Highness is nowhere near a match...
Fourth Highness is considered handsome in Drake Abyss, but this guy—what’s his story? He doesn’t look ordinary at all...
"There! That’s Little Fish’s husband." Serena pointed at Sean Shaw.
"Ah!" Just then, the Divine Attendant behind Serena Summers let out a startled cry.
Serena turned around and asked her, "What’s wrong?"
The Divine Attendant stared at Sean, her face full of terror, and shook her head. "N-nothing!"
"Nothing? Then why did you scream?" Serena frowned. "Spill it! What’s going on?"
The Divine Attendant mustered her courage and said, "He... he’s obviously the Demon Emperor!"
"Demon... Emperor?!" Serena’s eyes widened.
"What nonsense are you spouting!" Serena snapped. "How could Little Fish possibly marry the Demon Emperor?"
"Lady Serena! I once went to war with the Divine Army and saw the Demon Emperor myself! He is Damian Black! I swear I’m not mistaken!"
Serena frowned and sent a voice transmission to Serena Summers: "This girl was given to me by Lord River Drake. She’s honest and pretty loyal to me. She wouldn’t make things up."
Serena Summers slowly stood up, staring at Lily Bai and Sean Shaw. "Is what she said true? Are you really Damian Black?"
Lily Bai panicked for a moment, not sure how to answer.
Sean Shaw nodded. "I am, but—"
He was just about to explain when Serena Summers stiffened and collapsed—she’d fainted again...
When she woke up, she burst into loud sobs: "What did I do to deserve this? My son worships the Demon King, my daughter actually married the Demon Emperor! Our Summers clan is the Gatekeeper’s own family, and the White Clan has served the Divine Race loyally for generations! How did we end up tangled with these demons?"
Lily Bai glanced at Sean Shaw, anxious. "Moth—Mother... please don’t say that! Actually—"
"Actually what? Actually he’s not the Demon Emperor? Are you two joking with me?" Serena cut her off.
"Actually... Lord Noctis already married the Phoenix Divine Lord!" Lily Bai said. "And Little Shrimp has entered Southcourt Palace..."
"Don’t talk about other people! Talk about yourself!" Serena glared at her. "Ever since you got with the Demon Emperor, you’ve gotten so bold! You even lied to me? And dragged your master into it! All that stuff about the divination needing a small wedding and hiding it from the Divine Race—wasn’t it just so no one would recognize him?!"
Lily Bai hung her head guiltily. "Mother, I’m sorry, Sean—"
"Don’t give me any buts!" Serena pointed at the door. "Get out—both of you! And don’t come back!"
"Mother! Please, just listen to me!" Lily Bai pleaded.
"I don’t want to hear it! Go!" Serena snapped.
Lily Bai: "..."
"Little Fish, you two should leave for now," Serena Summers said. "Wait until your mother calms down."
Lily Bai had no choice but to drag her husband out, looking back at every step.
Outside, she apologized to Sean Shaw. "Sorry! Please don’t take my mother’s words to heart."
Sean Shaw didn’t reply. He turned away, lost in thought.
"Little Five~~" Lily Bai clung to him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Don’t be mad, okay?"
"I’m not mad." Sean Shaw stroked her pretty little face, lips curving up. "I think we should go see Lord Faustin. Your mother’s still furious—she’ll definitely go looking for him."
"You’re right..." Lily Bai said, grabbing his hand and heading off to find Lord Faustin.
