I Swear on My Life

"Mm." Jason Zhuo replied in a deep voice.

"Father will definitely object."

"You don't need to worry about this." Jason Zhuo said. "I'll handle it."

"Besides, she might not be sincere—"

"Grace." Jason Zhuo interrupted her, saying, "I understand everything."

Grace fell silent.

...

After Jason Zhuo returned, he personally requested Minister Zhuo to remove his name from the Zhu Family genealogy and establish his own household.

Naturally, Minister Zhuo wanted to know the reason.

Jason Zhuo explained, "...She's a member of the Gu Family. If I marry her, it might make His Majesty displeased with you. So—"

"The old madam is also a member of the Gu Family. Should we let your grandfather move out and establish his own household too?" Minister Zhuo interrupted him.

Jason Zhuo: "..."

The old madam truly was a princess of the Blue Moon Kingdom.

"If you say you want to marry her, I'll petition the emperor and tell him you've already made a marriage agreement. Since His Majesty has already pardoned the Gu Family, he probably won't punish our Zhu Family."

"Father..." Jason Zhuo looked deeply ashamed. "I am an unfilial son!"

Minister Zhuo looked at him, "You only need to guarantee that she truly wants to marry you, and isn't coming here to seek revenge."

Jason Zhuo said, "I swear on my life—she's not!"

And so, the Marquis Manor suddenly became busy, preparing to welcome Princess Olivia Gu on the original wedding date.

...

The second uncle's family finished moving out the next day.

Minister Zhuo found them a very nice house: a three-courtyard residence, clean, tidy, spacious, and bright.

The previous owner was a sixth-rank official who had been promoted and moved to a bigger mansion—truly an auspicious house.

But Aunt Leah wasn’t happy at all.

Not only was she unhappy, but thinking about how her daughter couldn’t marry the general and had lost her bright future, she was filled with resentment.

She was very unwilling to accept this.

That day, she went to Loyalty Manor again.

But found the whole manor busy with Jason Zhuo's wedding preparations.

The old madam and the old general had both gone out.

Minister Zhuo had gone to court.

Grace had gone to the Spirit League.

As for Lena... she didn’t want to see her either.

She wandered around inside, but didn’t see a single master; even the servants barely paid her any attention.

Feeling thoroughly unwelcome, she could only leave, muttering curses under her breath.

On her way home, feeling stifled in the carriage, she lifted the curtain to get some air.

Just then, she suddenly spotted someone and shouted, "Stop!"

The carriage stopped. She got out and walked up to the person.

It was actually Bella Wan!

She was heavily pregnant, one hand on her back and the other supported by a maid, looking around as she walked, searching for something.

Aunt Leah called out, "Miss Wan?"

Bella Wan looked closely and immediately brightened. "Is that Second Madam?"

Aunt Leah looked at her belly. "You—?"

Bella Wan's eyes instantly reddened. "It's Kevin Zhuo's child!"

"Poor thing..." Aunt Leah put on a sympathetic face. "Why did you come to Yan City?"

"I came to find them!" Bella Wan said angrily. "I want to ask them, why break off the engagement after it was already agreed upon? If they don't give me an explanation, I'll throw myself at their door and die!"

Hearing this, a wicked idea suddenly popped into Aunt Leah's mind.

She deliberately put on a sympathetic expression. "You look travel-worn—just arrived in Yan City, right?"

"That's right!" Bella Wan replied.

You just got here, so you probably don't even know where they live, do you? How will you find Kevin Zhuo?
