I Am Waiting for You to Marry Me

Aunt Leah's voice came from inside the room: "Mother, Big Sister-in-law misunderstood us, but surely you won't, right? We're doing all this for Grace, and for the Zhu Family!"

"Shut up!" Dowager Lady Evelyn Zhu snapped. "Have some shame! I'm embarrassed for you! Now pack your things and get out!"

...

On the way home, Grace hugged Lena's arm and said, "Mom, thank you."

Lena smiled and stroked her beautiful little face. "Grace, now that I'm healthy again, I won't let anyone bully you ever again!"

Grace's heart ached, and she nodded.

But Mom only has a few months left to live.

But under Minister Zhuo's strict control, no one dared to tell her. So she herself had no idea.

"Grace, what's wrong? Why are your eyes suddenly red?" Lena asked.

Grace threw her arms around her. "It feels so good to have Mom protecting me."

Lena just thought she was remembering the past and gently patted her back. "Don't cry, it was my fault before. I didn't protect you well enough."

"Mom, please don't leave me..."

"I won't." Lena smiled. "They say girls about to be married have a lot on their minds—looks like it's true! You haven't even left yet, and you're already missing your mom?"

Grace laughed through her tears.

"But the General's Mansion is so close to our Marquis Estate, and they don't have any in-laws. Even if you get married, you can come home anytime you want! So stop crying!"

"Okay, I won't cry..."

...

That day, just as Grace was getting ready to go to the Spirit Alliance, Jason Zhuo came looking for her.

Excited, he pulled Grace aside and told her they had evidence of Colin Gu's crime.

"What kind of evidence?"

"A witness," Jason Zhuo said. "It was the man Colin Gu sent to set the fire. After Colin was arrested, this guy stepped forward to testify in exchange for his life and was sentenced to exile. He's still in Yan City, hasn't left yet."

Grace nodded. "He must know a lot about what really happened back then."

"Exactly. So if we take Olivia to meet him, she won't be able to say we're framing Colin Gu anymore."

Grace nodded again. "Let's go find Olivia, then."

...

Olivia and her mother, Dowager Lady Blue Moon, were living in Yan City and hadn't returned to Danyang.

Grace and Jason Zhuo found her and said they wanted to take her to meet the witness.

Olivia sneered, "So what if you take me to meet him? So what if you prove my brother really was a criminal? He's already dead! What's the point of all this?"

"Olivia, I just want you to know we didn't frame him!" Jason Zhuo said. "You have to believe me!"

"And what if I do believe you?" Olivia asked. "If I believe you... are you still going to marry me?"

Jason Zhuo replied, "We have a marriage agreement. As long as you're willing, of course I'll marry you!"

Olivia laughed. "Really? I'm just a commoner now, not a princess anymore. Will you still marry me? Will your family agree?"

Jason Zhuo said, "Neither I nor my family have any objections."

Olivia looked at him. "I don't believe you."

"What would make you believe me?"

"Our wedding was supposed to be this month... there's still half a month left, right?" Olivia said with a half-smile. "If you come to marry me as scheduled, I'll marry you as scheduled. Deal?"

Jason Zhuo: "Really?"

Olivia: "Really."

"Alright. Just wait—I’ll come for you," Jason Zhuo said.

"I made my own wedding dress, it's ready!" Olivia smiled. "I'll be waiting for you!"

...

On the way home, the siblings didn't say a word.

As they neared home, Grace asked, "Big Brother, do you really want to marry her?"
