The Theft of the Thunder-Heaven Void-Breaking Chain

1/4/2026

Right now, Drake Abyss is under the First Prince's command—they shouldn't just start a war over nothing...

After a moment, Sean Shaw came in and said, "It's about the Thunder-Heaven Void-Breaking Chain."

Lily Bai's heart sank. "What happened to the Thunder-Heaven Void-Breaking Chain?"

"The Void-Breaking Chain was stolen."

"Stolen? I haven't even tried stealing it yet, so how could it already be gone?"

Sean continued, "There's evidence pointing to Baxa. And the fact that he stayed at the Sigil Sect has been exposed too. So the Divine Guards have surrounded the Sect—to take back the Void-Breaking Chain, and to catch the culprit."

Lily Bai: "Baxa? No way! Where is he?"

"I'm right here." Speak of the devil—Baxa showed up just then.

"What's going on?" Sean asked him, "Why do they say someone filmed you near the Drake Abyss entrance?"

"I did go there last night," Baxa said. "Adrian Drake couldn't find you because it was your bridal candle night, so he came looking for me instead. I didn't want to disturb you, so I met up with him."

Sean fell silent.

Last night... my storage pouch with the Messenger Charm and my outer robe got tossed outside, so I wouldn't even know if someone tried to call me.

Lily Bai also fell silent.

Her cheeks flushed pink.

"So what did he want to talk about?" Sean asked.

"It was about the First Prince," Baxa said. "He told me that back in the Southern Realm, Lily Bai asked him if the First Prince had any... rotten peach-blossom luck. He said no at the time, but now it looks like he does."

Baxa pulled out a Clarity Charm and handed it to Lily Bai. "Adrian Drake asked me to give this to you, see if you notice anything weird."

Lily Bai took it and peered inside. The Clarity Charm showed a woman—sharp and lively, her big eyes practically talking, long lashes thick and black—carefully trailing behind the First Prince as he flew.

"Who is she?" Lily Bai asked, curiosity written all over her face.

Baxa replied, "Adrian Drake said that on the way back from the Southern Realm to Drake Abyss, the First Prince got ambushed by some weird beast. That woman—she's an upper-realm immortal from the Wildlands—helped him out at the crucial moment."

"And then? The First Prince didn't fall for her at first sight, did he?" Lily Bai's eyes went wide. "She looks... just average! Way less pretty than the Heir-Consort!"

"No idea about love at first sight, but the First Prince kept her by his side as a personal Divine Attendant," Baxa said.

"Big brother never uses female attendants," Sean said, sounding baffled.

Baxa nodded. "Adrian Drake said the same! The First Prince never lets palace maids serve him—this is a first. The Guardian Drake Lord and his wife told him that woman looks like his first love."

"Wait, the First Prince had a first love? Who was she?" Lily Bai gossiped, eyes sparkling.

"She was a direct-line daughter of the Drake Ancestral Clan Chief—about four or five thousand years ago, she failed her ascension," Baxa explained. "None of you were born yet, so you wouldn't know her."

Lily Bai did a quick calculation and frowned. "So that rotten peach-blossom luck must be her!"

"Hey! The Sigil Sect is surrounded! How do you still have time for rotten peach-blossom gossip?" Immortal Futti cut in.

"Master! We're talking about the Sigil Sect!" Lily Bai protested. "Baxa, how did you get caught on camera? Did you two not avoid people when you met? So careless!"

"We were super careful—no way anyone could've followed us. Even in the Sigil Sect, we were careful. Nine Li swears it's impossible for us to be exposed," Baxa insisted.

Nine Li nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, yeah! Impossible! Others may not know, but Dad and Big Sis, you know my skills, right? If I want to hide Baxa in my courtyard, nobody could ever find him!"
