Soren Lann Finds Out

Lily Bai nodded, thought for a moment, then looked at Sean Shaw and said, "Arrange for Yin Shu to meet with me."

Sean Shaw: "You suspect he has a talisman on him?"

Lily Bai nodded, "They got a lot of invisible talismans from Lieshan Ying. If Baxa is sure no one tracked him, then it's very likely one was planted on Yin Shu."

She then looked at Nine Li: "And Nine Li, when you get back, bring everyone from your courtyard to me and Master for inspection."

Nine Li nodded.

Led by Baxa and Sean Shaw, the group used Swiftstride to rush back to the Sigil Sect as fast as possible.

Meanwhile, Azure Flame returned to the Radiant Palace and slipped back into her nest.

She stretched her neck to look, but didn't see Soren Lann.

She waited all day, but he never came back.

Where did he go?

Azure Flame spread her wings and flew around searching, then spotted Soren Lann standing by a swing in a Spirit Alliance field, totally spaced out.

Is he thinking about Lily Bai again?

Azure Flame flew over and perched on the swing frame.

Soren Lann noticed her, stared for a while, and asked, "Where did you go?"

Azure Flame mimed pecking for food.

"Did I not feed you enough? You went out looking for more snacks?"

Enough! More than enough! Azure Flame nodded furiously.

But Soren Lann misunderstood, "Ah, so it really wasn't enough!"

"Really not enough to eat?" Soren Lann said, "I bet it's not enough bugs for you, right?"

No, no! There's definitely enough bugs! She shook her head hard again.

Her head-shaking only made him more convinced she wasn't getting enough to eat.

"You’re shaking your head like a rattle-drum! Come on!" He smiled faintly, picked up Azure Flame, and started walking back.

"No! I don’t want bugs! Let me go!" Azure Flame twisted around desperately.

"Look how happy you are! About to break into a dance?" Soren Lann grinned at her, blinked back to the palace, then summoned a clay jar and picked out a fat Spirit Bug for her.

Azure Flame eyed the clay jar, then suddenly lunged at it, trying to knock it to the floor.

If she broke it, maybe she wouldn’t have to eat bugs anymore!

The jar did fall, but didn’t break.

Soren Lann caught it with a spell.

"You little rascal! So naughty! Trying to tip over the jar just to eat more." Soren Lann pinched her wing, "Listen, these are my Spirit Bugs—I can’t let you eat too many!"

Why, thank you so much! Azure Flame rolled her eyes.

"Two, two should be enough, right?" He picked out another one, lining up two bugs side by side and immobilizing them with a spell. "Eat up!"

Azure Flame had no choice but to reluctantly eat both Spirit Bugs.

"Alright! No more for you." Soren Lann put the clay jar away. "Go play!"

But Azure Flame didn’t leave. She squatted on his desk.

"Sitting here won’t help! I’m not giving you any more." Soren Lann poked her beak with his finger.

I don’t want bugs! I’m here to keep an eye on you for Sean Shaw.

Just then, a messenger beast arrived with a letter.

Soren Lann read it for a while, his face darkened, then he crumpled up the letter and tossed it aside.

Then, in the blink of an eye, he vanished.

Azure Flame glanced around, saw no one, and carried the crumpled paper back to her nest to open it.

The note said: Lily Bai from Eastern Luo secretly married the Demon Emperor.

He found out!

Where did he go? What is he going to do?

Azure Flame hurried off to find him.

Finally, she found him in the most remote, talisman-covered palace hall at the back of the Radiant Palace.

This place looked like a gu-breeding chamber, filled with gu vessels and all sorts of bugs.

Why did he come here?

Azure Flame watched him curiously.
