As soon as Evan Lin spoke, Cindy Guan and the others' expressions changed, their eyes filling with even more contempt.
"You better run while you still can! Otherwise, you might just get beaten to death!" the little beauty shouted.
"You probably don't even know what a Vajra-level expert is, do you? You just happened to ram into Jason Zheng by surprise, knocked him over, and stole his stuff. Feeling proud of yourself?" The guy with glasses shook his head repeatedly. "Too bad your laugh won't last long!"
"Overestimating yourself, a thief who pretends to read faces. You're just a con artist," Cindy Guan looked at Evan with even colder eyes.
She was actually looking forward to seeing Jason Zheng make a move. After all, fights between Vajra-level experts were rare for Cindy to witness.
"Stubborn fool! Don't blame me for sending you straight to the hospital!"
Jason Zheng shouted harshly and charged forward at high speed.
His movements were sharp, and his fists were wrapped in layers of outward-flowing inner energy. He looked unstoppable—everywhere he stepped, he left deep footprints. His terrifying strength made Cindy and the others excited; they could barely hold back their cheers.
Seeing Jason Zheng rushing over, Evan Lin gently pulled Joy Zheng behind him.
"It's fine, Mom. He can't get through," Evan said calmly.
Evan smiled and didn't even bother looking at the approaching Jason Zheng.
"This kid's really an idiot."
"He's dead for sure!"
Cindy Guan and the others shook their heads at the scene, already thinking about whether to call an ambulance.
"Let me show you whether I can get through or not!"
Jason Zheng laughed loudly, shouted, and threw a fierce punch.
Just as his fist was about to reach Evan, a few wisps of pale mist floated out from Evan's backpack—the Three Maiden Spirits quickly gathered in front of Jason Zheng.
Evan turned his head, looked calmly at Jason Zheng's face just inches away, and said softly, "Fall."
With that single word, the Three Maiden Spirits instantly moved. They wrapped themselves around Jason Zheng, suddenly exerting force, all their strength pressing down on his bones and muscles.
"How is this possible!"
Jason Zheng's eyes widened in disbelief.
In that instant, he felt a tremendous pressure slam down on his whole body—from his limbs to his bones.
His whole body suddenly got heavy, his balance shot, and his punch smashed straight into the ground, blasting out a deep pit. The next second, his head drove right into the hole he'd just made, face-down and totally stuck.
Jason!
The group who'd been waiting for Evan Lin to get sent flying all froze, their faces changing as they cried out in shock.
Before anyone could react, Evan Lin—still standing there, cool as ice—just stretched out his right foot and planted it right on Jason Zheng's head, looking down at him from above.
Told you, but you wouldn't listen. I didn't even move a finger, and you went down.
Evan Lin spoke lazily, "Your so-called Vajra? Honestly, I was a little scared at first. But turns out you're just a soft persimmon—nothing tough about you, just a whole lotta noise."
What did you do to me?!
Jason Zheng struggled to speak. He wanted to move, but couldn't—his inner energy was raging, but it felt like a mountain was crushing him. No matter how hard he tried, it was useless.
Didn't do a thing. Just wanted to remind you—judging by your face, you'll never make it to the Vajra Realm in this life.
And one more thing—dogs are always dogs. If you're gonna act like a dog, at least own it. Stop barking and trying to bite people.
Evan Lin narrowed his eyes, summoned a wisp of spiritual qi from his dantian, and sent it right into Jason Zheng through his toes.
That spiritual qi slithered like a spirit snake and vanished in an instant.
Just you wait! You two are just outsiders here to mooch off the Zheng family! I'm telling you, this isn't a place for you to go wild!
Let me go if you've got the guts! I'll make you pay!
Jason Zheng kept shouting angrily.
What's going on here?!
Not far away, Frank Chang—who'd been trimming the flowerbeds—noticed the commotion and hurried over.
When he got close and saw Jason Zheng getting stomped on by Evan Lin, his face twisted in fury. He roared at Evan, "Who are you?! How'd you sneak into the Zheng family?! Get off my son! If you mess him up, can you afford it?!"
Get out of the way!
He cursed under his breath and walked up.
When he spotted Joy Zheng standing nearby, his face twisted again, even more vicious: "So it's you! I get it now! You brought this kid here!"
Didn't I give you twenty grand yesterday? Twenty thousand for your two little porcelain bottles—you made a killing! How can you be so greedy, woman? And now you dare bring people to beat up my son!?
Do you realize my son is a top Vajra Realm expert now? What you've done—you're asking for heaven's wrath!
Frank Chang's face flushed with anxiety.
Twenty grand for two little porcelain bottles?
Evan Lin raised an eyebrow, grinning: "Looks like I missed someone?"
I don't care who you missed! Get out of my way! My son is the Zheng family's future! If you hurt him, can you afford it?!
Frank Chang grew even more agitated. He tried pushing Evan Lin, but after a couple of failed tries, his nerves shot through the roof. In desperation, he snatched up his gardening shears and stabbed at Evan.
Evan Lin slapped him backhanded.
Smack!
With a swoosh, Frank Chang and his gardening shears went flying, landing on the ground and rolling in pain.
The whole scene stunned Cindy Guan and the others, cutting them off mid-sentence. They stared at Evan Lin with a new sense of fear.
It didn't matter how strong Evan Lin was—just one slap and you were flying. None of them could take a hit like that.
Your son might be a Vajra Realm expert, but he still has to lie at my feet.
Evan Lin nudged Jason Zheng with his toe, sending him flying like a soccer ball. With a thud, Jason crashed into Frank Chang, making him grunt in pain.
Any of you got a problem?
Evan Lin turned to look at Cindy Guan and the others.
N-no… No problem. The guy with glasses shook his head over and over.
Me neither! The pretty girl quickly chimed in.
Cindy Guan stayed silent, staring at Evan Lin for a long time, unable to figure out how Jason Zheng had suddenly collapsed.
Could it be that this kid really can read faces?
Suspicion and amazement flickered in Cindy Guan's eyes.
Good, as long as you're fine.
Evan Lin nodded, then said coldly, "If you're fine, then get lost."
