"There's nothing to eat, nothing at all."
Joy Zheng shook her head. When she saw Jason Zheng in front of her, a flicker of panic flashed in her eyes.
Last night, Jason Zheng's kick and punch in Joy Zheng's room really left an extremely deep impression on her.
With a stomp, he shattered the floor; with a punch from across the room, he left a deep pit in the wall.
Such moves were practically supernatural, leaving Joy Zheng deeply uneasy inside.
She wasn't worried about Jason Zheng attacking her; she was more afraid Evan Lin would find out Jason had stolen her Small Foundation-Cultivating Pills and get angry. Besides, knowing Evan's personality, she was sure he'd end up fighting Jason.
When Evan Lin just dealt with Pam Xu, Joy Zheng couldn't bear to watch, but she didn't really step in—partly because she trusted Evan's self-control, and partly because Pam definitely couldn't beat him, so Evan wouldn't get hurt.
But Jason Zheng was a whole different story.
"Really nothing?" Jason Zheng sighed.
Evan Lin, standing off to the side, frowned slightly.
"Brother Jason, who's this? I've never seen him at your house before."
The pretty girl next to him glanced at Joy Zheng, then looked over at Evan Lin, her eyes full of curiosity.
"Oh, she's just here visiting relatives at our Zheng family." Jason Zheng glanced at Joy Zheng, his eyes full of disdain.
Even though Joy Zheng was the old master's youngest legitimate daughter, she'd been away from home for over ten years—so a lot had changed.
In the Zheng family, Leon Zheng held the most authority. Even if Joy Zheng really stayed, her status would never be high, and Jason Zheng couldn't care less about her.
"And what about this guy?"
The young man looked over at Evan Lin and asked.
Cindy Guan glanced at Evan Lin, instantly losing interest.
"Him? He's probably this woman's son. Most likely here to freeload off our Zheng family too." Jason Zheng shot Evan Lin a look full of disdain. "These days, everyone wants a bite at our Zheng family's table, but luckily we've got big bowls and plenty of food. A few nobodies can eat too—just add a pair of chopsticks and a bowl, no big deal."
After speaking, Jason Zheng seemed a bit bored, stretched lazily, then flashed a smile at Cindy Guan. "Cindy, how about I take you fishing? There are plenty of mountain stream carp in the pond out back, raised by the old master. You should try them."
