Shannon is back!
Grace grinned mischievously and tiptoed through the grove, sneaking around behind them.
She wanted to pop out from behind and give them a good scare—hee hee!
But as she circled around, she spotted even more people.
Like Evan Xiao.
He must've just finished sword practice—sweat glistened on his forehead, sword in hand, dressed in a fitted dark outfit that showed off his tall, lean, and powerful build.
Standing in front of him was a woman.
From behind, her figure looked stunning. She wore flowing white, holding a pale blue handkerchief, clearly intending to wipe Evan Xiao's sweat.
Evan Xiao turned his head to dodge her and said, "No need."
"Your Highness, let me wipe it for you!" The woman's voice was sweet and gentle, impossibly soft.
As she spoke, the handkerchief nearly touched his forehead.
"I said no." Evan Xiao's voice wasn't loud, but it was icy... cold-blooded.
Just like the cold-blooded way he was back when he almost had her executed with a staff.
The woman seemed afraid of him. Her hand froze, and she didn't dare move any closer.
Seeing this, Grace started to admire her own courage.
How on earth did she manage to win him over with such reckless bravery?
Evan Xiao turned and walked toward Leon Zane.
As he walked, he spotted Grace.
She was hiding behind a big tree, peeking out with her little head—looking mischievous and adorable.
But the smile on her face froze, her eyes fixed on them.
Sensing something off in their master's gaze, Leon Zane and Bianca Whitefan (Shannon) both turned to look.
Then, they both widened their eyes in shock.
"Gr—Grace?" Bianca Whitefan glanced at her, then at the woman in white, stammering, "When did you get back...?"
"Just now." Grace stepped out from behind the tree and looked at the woman in white.
It was her!
The same woman in white she'd met at the bun shop on the way to Yanjing!
The woman in white clearly recognized her too, a look of confusion flashing in her eyes. "Shannon, who is she?"
"Uh, let me introduce you. Grace, this is my older sister, Bianca Whiteshire." Shannon pulled Grace over and said, "Big Sis, this is my good friend, Grace Zuo."
"Good friend..." Bianca Whiteshire looked Grace up and down, eyes narrowing. "So, she's your good friend!"
Shannon: "Yep!"
"This is the General's Manor. How did she get in without being announced?"
"Well..." Shannon looked awkwardly at Grace. "Because she's also the General's—"
"Fiancée." Three crisp, decisive words.
It was Grace who said it.
The moment she said that, Shannon swallowed the words 'good friend.'
She'd meant to say Grace was also the General's good friend...
After Grace finished, she looked at Evan Xiao and walked toward him step by step.
Leon Zane watched Grace's expression and figured she must've seen what happened earlier.
If she did... Leon Zane suddenly felt his heart skip a beat.
With ordinary human eyes, you can only see what's on the surface.
Humans are stubborn—they only believe what their own eyes see.
Legend has it, lots of human couples break up over misunderstandings.
Is Grace going to break up with His Highness over this?
If she does... well, that'd be just perfect!
Grace walked right up to Evan Xiao, her bright eyes fixed on him.
Then she reached her right hand into her left sleeve.
What is she up to?
Leon Zane suddenly felt super nervous...
