On Saturday morning, Cherry Miller and Yina Yin both changed into comfortable sportswear. Instead of taking their sports cars, they drove a seven-seater business van, loaded with plenty of purchased goods for the elderly at Grant Senior Center.
Cherry Miller was highly efficient. In no time, she finished checking the items and said to Yina Yin, who was moving boxes, "Everything's here."
"Great." Yina Yin clapped the dust off her hands and swiftly closed the van door.
"Morning!" came Jay Kee's cheerful voice from behind.
Cherry Miller and Yina Yin looked over together and saw Jay Kee dressed in black casual wear, carrying a large bag, followed by Mason Ming, who was lugging a big box.
"Morning," Cherry nodded and said, "Don't tell me you want to come along too?"
"Of course! How could you do charity work without me?" Jay Kee grinned, showing his big white teeth.
His shiny, pearly whites.
Mason Ming explained, "Jay heard I was going to the welfare home and insisted on tagging along no matter what."
After saying that, Mason Ming looked a bit guilty.
Honestly, it was Jay Kee who suggested the idea, but Jay made him say it this way.
He could only do as told.
"How are we getting there?" Jay Kee asked, but his eyes were already wandering toward the business van.
This van was clearly expensive.
Definitely the kind of ride a rich heiress would have.
She has every kind of car imaginable!
"Since we're all doing charity work, let's go together," Yina Yin said, easily guessing Jay Kee's intentions. She shot Cherry a mischievous look.
Cherry gave her a speechless look and said, "Just put it in the van."
"Got it!" Yina Yin reopened the van door and helped Mason Ming load all the boxes inside.
Jay Kee couldn't help asking Cherry, "This van must've cost a fortune, right?"
Cherry Miller thought for a moment and said, "I’m not sure about the exact amount. The company handled the purchase. It probably wasn’t that expensive, right?"
Yina Yin chimed in, "Yeah, it’s not expensive. Just a little over a million."
Jay Kee couldn’t help but gasp.
Rich people are just different. Over a million, and they say ‘just.’
To him, a million was a fortune!
Jay Kee became even more determined—he had to cling to Cherry Miller for support, no matter what.
"Get in the car," Yina Yin said, opening the driver’s door. She was about to invite Cherry Miller in when she saw Jay Kee usher Mason Ming into the front passenger seat.
That left Jay Kee sitting in the back with Cherry Miller.
Yina Yin gave Jay Kee a knowing look.
This kid really was... sharp!
All this just to get a chance to sit with Cherry. Smart move.
Too bad Cherry’s destined to be part of the Yin family. Hehehe.
Just wait, kid, you’ll be crying soon!
Yina Yin ignored Jay Kee and nodded at Mason Ming: "Buckle up, we’re heading out!"
"Okay," Mason Ming said obediently, fastening his seatbelt and sitting still without moving around.
Yina Yin usually drove pretty wild, but today she kept it steady for everyone else’s sake.
Jay Kee asked, with a hint of meaning, "Do you always drive?"
What he meant was, so what if you live with Cherry Miller? You’re just the driver!
Yina Yin got the hint and almost burst out laughing. She held back her smile and nodded, "Yeah, that’s just how it is. If I don’t take good care of Miss Miller, how am I supposed to have a good life?"
Mason Ming was stunned.
