Writing a Song for You

With Cherry Miller's permission, Jay Kee drove much more impatiently on the way back than he had on the way there.

Jay Kee's undisguised excitement seemed to amuse Cherry.

So young!

Jay Kee's recording studio wasn't downtown but in a converted factory building out in the suburbs.

This place had gathered quite a few musicians, painters, and photographers—mostly unknown dreamers at the bottom of the ladder.

So the place was lively, but none of them had much money.

Jay Kee was one of them.

Otherwise, he wouldn't be dreaming of latching onto a rich heiress for a chance to turn his life around.

"This place..." Cherry got out of the car and looked around. "When did it get renovated like this?"

"It used to be the factory's exhibition center. After the factory moved, all the other buildings were demolished except for this one, so it got turned into our hangout." Jay Kee explained, not bothering to hide his situation.

After all, in Jay Kee's eyes, seeking a sponsor wasn't anything to be ashamed of.

Only when you're broke will a sponsor feel sorry for you!

"It's pretty out of the way," Cherry nodded.

"Yeah, it's remote, but the rent is cheap. You can get a room for just eight hundred or a thousand yuan." Jay Kee walked beside Cherry, considerately holding up an umbrella over her head. "Besides, when you're making music, you need a quiet place."

Cherry didn't say anything else and followed Jay Kee forward.

This place was mostly filled with people struggling at the bottom, so Cherry's arrival instantly drew a lot of attention.

If nothing else, Cherry's car alone was enough to catch every man's eye.

For men, fancy cars are even more attractive than beautiful women.

And Cherry had both the car and the looks—so of course she drew attention.

Plenty of people glanced at Cherry, but when they saw Jay Kee standing beside her, their looks turned meaningful.
