What Kind of Existence Is the Wan Clan

"Master Sage, could you tell me, who exactly is Grace Wan's uncle?" Minister Zhuo came over to ask.

"His name is Zane Wan. He comes from an ancient family and is at the late stage of Spirit Lord cultivation," Master Sage Dao replied.

"Ancient family?" Grace felt a chill in her heart.

She hadn't expected that Grace Wan truly came from an ancient family.

No wonder she had the skill to dig out and transplant spirit roots!

"Yes! He comes from an ancient family—the Wan Clan," Master Sage Dao said.

"What kind of clan is the Wan Clan?" Grace asked.

"This humble monk can say no more," Master Sage Dao replied. "I must take my leave now."

"Master Sage!" Grace called out. "There are some things I'd like to ask you. Would you be willing to enlighten me?"

Master Sage Dao looked at her, nodded, and walked out with her.

Outside, bodies were everywhere—the servants and guards slain when Grace Wan and her group stormed in.

"Master Sage, my mother was poisoned by Winterbane Poison. Now... she's basically at death's door," Grace Lawrence said. "When she was gravely ill, she told me you were someone I could trust."

Master Sage Dao simply smiled and said nothing.

"My mother wouldn't have said that for no reason. Is there some connection between you and her?" Grace Lawrence pressed.

"I have no connection with your mother," Master Sage Dao replied. "She only had some ties to Master Hugh Warren."

"Then why do you keep helping us?"

"A monk is compassionate by nature," Master Sage Dao said. "I just couldn't bear to see a family wiped out before my eyes."

Grace Lawrence looked disappointed, bowed, and said, "Well... thank you again, from the bottom of my heart!"

Master Sage Dao nodded slightly and vanished before her.

That night, no one in the Zhu Family slept.

Thirteen people died.

The Zhu Family spent the night notifying relatives to collect the bodies and comforting them. The whole night was filled with grief.

Evan Xiao stayed all night, helping Minister Zhuo deal with everything.

...

Everyone thought Grace Wan had already left.

But early the next morning, as soon as the gates opened, she showed up again at the entrance to Loyalty Manor.

This time, there was no Zane Wan in black—just Grace Wan and Kenneth Lawrence.

A carriage followed behind them.

Kenneth Lawrence, who used to be so low-key and gloomy, now looked more energetic and confident than ever.

He must have found out by now that his mother really does come from a prestigious background.

With his mother's reputation, Kenneth Lawrence now saw himself as a notch above everyone in the Zhu Family.

Minister Zhuo went out and asked, "Why are you here again?"

Grace Wan said, "Did you know Gwen Walker is seriously ill?"

"Grace Lawrence's spirit root isn't working for her. Maybe if you dig it out again, Gwen Walker will recover!"

Grace Wan gave a little laugh. "So, in your heart, only the children Lian'er gave birth to count as your real kids."

"What do you actually want?"

"Your manor's feng shui is pretty good," Grace Wan said. "This spot is called the Dragon's Nexus. Ever heard of it?"

Minister Zhuo replied, "So what?"

"I want to borrow this special place to set up an array and treat Gwen Walker," Grace Wan said. "She's your daughter, after all. Let me use it, okay?"

"No way," Minister Zhuo said. "Go find somewhere else!"

Grace Wan burst out laughing. "You don't really think I'm here to negotiate, do you?"

"You think you can force your way in here all by yourself?"

Grace Wan just smiled and strode right in.

Kenneth Lawrence drove the carriage after her.

As she walked, Grace Wan asked, "Do you even know what kind of existence the Wan Clan truly is?"
