"Lily, the General might not get poisoned, but you can't just ignore that wound," Lu Xin said. "It's pretty deep and keeps bleeding. If we wait for a doctor, he could lose too much blood. Do you know how to bandage? If you do, get over there and patch the General up, quick!"
Lily Bai just stood there, totally silent, eyes glued to the scene unfolding before her.
She was frozen, looking like all her fantasies had just gone up in smoke.
"Lily, are you even listening to me?" Lu Xin waved a hand in front of her face, trying to snap her out of it.
"Oh... Yeah, I heard you! I can do it, I’ll go right now!" Grace blurted out, snapping back to reality and rushing off.
In the world of spirit wielders, strength is king.
So, getting hurt and bleeding? Just another day in paradise.
Evan Xiao’s room was always stocked with medicine and bandages—like he expected trouble.
Lily Bai dug out the wound medicine, marched over, and asked, "General, need help getting your shirt off?"
"I got it." Evan Xiao just shrugged off the pain and stripped down himself—like it was no big deal.
All the blood was on his back, so from the front, you couldn't see a thing. Lily Bai just stood there, dumbstruck, watching the most jaw-dropping strip show she'd ever seen.
So, right in Lily Bai’s line of sight was a breathtakingly gorgeous man taking off his clothes—she felt like she’d been hit by a truck full of hormones.
Every move screamed masculinity, every inch of his body was pure sex appeal, and the air around him was practically sizzling with dangerous charm...
Once he was done undressing, Evan Xiao shot Lily Bai a look that could melt steel.
That one glance made his eyebrow arch in that devilishly handsome way, and he sauntered right over to her, making her knees go weak.
Even the way he walked was unfairly hot! He could probably make a statue swoon... Lily Bai felt her heart do somersaults, falling for him bit by bit...
Evan Xiao stopped right in front of her, leaned in so close she could feel his breath, and reached out like he was about to steal her soul—or maybe just touch her cheek.
Grace’s heart nearly exploded out of her chest. She felt like she’d been zapped by a thousand volts, cheeks blazing, and she instinctively leaned back, staring at him like a deer in headlights.
"Lily Bai," Evan Xiao waved his finger in front of her face. "I almost got my shoulder chewed up by a snake saving you, and you’re just standing there bleeding from your nose instead of bandaging me? Seriously?"
"Uh?" Grace blinked at his finger... Yep, there was definitely blood on it.
She swiped at her nose—yikes! Her hand came away covered in blood!
"Ah! Uh... I’ve just been too stressed lately! I'll plug it up and patch you up right now!" Grace fumbled with her sleeve, wiped her nose, stuffed some gauze into her nostrils, and got to work bandaging him like a pro.
Evan Xiao gave her a sideways look. With those bits of cloth poking out of her nose, she looked so ridiculous he almost lost it laughing.
Suddenly, he burst out laughing for no reason. "Humans are just hilarious!"
Hilarious humans? Wait, what now?
Hold up, are you saying you’re not human?
But of course, she wasn’t about to say any of that out loud—instead, she bandaged him up at lightning speed, patched the wound, and wrapped it tight.
Then she grabbed his clean clothes and bolted like she was running from a crime scene.
She’d just stood there, nose bleeding, staring at him... Something was definitely wrong with her. She needed help—stat!
She dashed back to the maid’s quarters, only to nearly collide headfirst into Red Sleeve because she was moving like a runaway chicken.
"What are you doing?" Red Sleeve snapped. "Are you blind? Can’t you see I’m holding the General’s clothes? If you mess them up, can you afford to pay for it?"
"Ah! Uh, well... I've been too stressed lately! I'll plug it up and take care of your wound right away." Grace frantically wiped away her nosebleed with her sleeve, stuffed some gauze into her nostrils, and then started bandaging him.
Evan Xiao shot her a sideways look. With those bits of cloth sticking out of her nose, she looked absolutely ridiculous!
Out of nowhere, he suddenly laughed. "Ridiculous humans!"
Ridiculous humans?
Wait, are you saying you're not human?
Of course, she didn’t dare say a word—she just bandaged him up as fast as she could, stopped the bleeding, and wrapped up the wound.
Then she grabbed his clean clothes and bolted out of there like she was escaping.
She actually stood there watching him while her nose bled... She must be sick, she seriously needs help...
As soon as she got back to the maid’s quarters, she nearly ran straight into Red Sleeve, almost crashing into her because she was moving so fast.
"What’s wrong with you?" Red Sleeve snapped. "Are you blind? Didn’t you see I’m carrying the General’s clothes? If you mess them up, can you afford to pay for it?"
