The Moving Gate

Hearing their words, Evan Yang smiled and said, "Then I'll thank you in advance. I promise this trip won't be wasted for any of you." Evan knew they were itching for action—three had been trapped in the Hundred-Fiend Cauldron for years, one had spent years underwater. All four were eager to show off their skills.

Over these three days, the Yang clan lived in harmony, while people from other planets gradually heard about Evan Yang. Each was full of admiration, and some even felt fear—especially the Lynn and Fenn families, terrified this troublemaker would target them next.

The Fenn Patriarch paced around his home, muttering, "Good thing, good thing—I didn't provoke him. That kid is just too terrifying."

The Lynn clan was even more worried. After all, it was the Lynn Immortal Sovereign who provoked Evan Yang. If Evan really came after them because of Lynn Immortal Sovereign, they'd be in trouble—their only Immortal Sovereign had already been subdued by Evan.

So soon enough, both the Fenn and Lynn clans started to fear Evan Yang. But they quickly received word from the Alliance Leader: as long as they resisted the Devil Realm together, Evan wouldn't pursue their past mistakes. Only then did they relax.

Although the Fenn and Lynn families let go for now, Terry Yang's parents from the Yang clan couldn't. They were still scheming how to deal with Evan Yang.

"My dear Tian..." Terry Yang's father sighed.

"Evan Yang is right here now—what should we do?" Terry Yang's mother asked.

"Even Lynn Immortal Sovereign couldn't handle him. What could we possibly do?" Terry Yang's father replied.

"No, we have to think of something! He's my only son—I can't just let him be framed and do nothing. Damn it!" Terry Yang's mother said, unwilling to accept it.

"So what are you thinking?" Terry Yang's father asked.

"Isn't he heading to the Devil Realm? I'll make sure he experiences what it means to leave and never return," Terry Yang's mother said.

"I heard he has four experts with him. Killing him won't be easy," Terry Yang's father said.

"So what if he has four experts? There are plenty of experts in the Devil Realm. If they go, and we coordinate, they'll never come back," Terry Yang's mother said. "What ideas do you have?" Terry Yang's father asked.

"You'll see soon enough. Just wait," Terry Yang's mother replied.

As for Evan Yang, he never pursued them—after all, they were his father's brothers. So Evan spent three days at the Yang clan estate. After three days, he was ready to leave. Sovereign Frost, still injured, needed to recuperate, so Evan left his uncle and parents at the Yang clan, while he went with his four妖尊 to the Alliance Leader.

When the Alliance Leader saw Evan Yang arrive, he asked, "Are all of you going?"

"Yes, we're all going," Evan Yang replied.

"That's great. Let me thank you all in advance," the Alliance Leader said.

Then the Alliance Leader said to Evan Yang and the others, "Come, follow me."

After speaking, the Alliance Leader led Evan Yang and his four妖尊 to the edge of the formation made by a hundred planets. He said to Evan, "I'll open a mouth here for you soon. You must cross within half a breath—once you're through, you can get to work. If you need anything, you can contact me anytime, so long as you haven't left the Immortal Realm. Transmission Stones will still work."

"Alright, understood," Evan Yang said.

Once Evan Yang and the four妖尊 were ready, the Alliance Leader took out a mirror. He pressed it against the formation, and it formed a tunnel. Just as Evan was about to ask something, the Alliance Leader said, "Quick!"

Evan Yang and the four妖尊 didn't hesitate—they flashed through the tunnel.

Then the tunnel vanished. On the other side, Evan found a whole new scene: many planets were already under Devil Realm control, and those planets were crawling with Devil Realm forces.

Now Evan Yang's task was to find the Immortal–Devil Gate. But oddly, when he and the four妖尊 spread their divine sense, they couldn't figure out where they'd come from.

"Strange, the Immortal–Devil Gate is nowhere to be found," Evan Yang muttered. He looked at the other four, wanting to see if they had any clue.

The four妖尊 shook their heads—they hadn't found anything either. So Evan Yang and his group had to blend in with the Devil Realm people to figure out where the gate was. Evan first recalled the four妖尊 into the Hundred-Fiend Cauldron, then used a special stone to alter his aura, making his qi feel like demonic miasma. He flew toward the nearest planet alone.

Before he got close to the planet, someone suddenly appeared and demanded, "Who are you?"

"I'm here to join the battle, but I've lost contact with the main force. I don't know how to find them," Evan Yang pretended to be lost and asked.

The man looked at Evan Yang suspiciously. In his eyes, how could a living person get lost? So he asked, "You just disappeared? Impossible. Tell me honestly, which faction are you from? If you can't answer, hmph, I'll teach you a lesson."

Evan hadn't expected the guy to be so strict, so he quickly thought and said, "Brother, I'm just a lone cultivator. I heard the Devil Realm and Immortal Realm are at war, so I wanted to help the Devil side. If I'm not welcome, I'll just leave." "Wait, don't go. Since you're willing, that's good—we need more manpower. Come help us." The man, who was about to grab Evan, reconsidered and decided Evan could help. "Oh? What do you need help with?" Evan asked.

"Just follow me," the man said, then led Evan Yang onto the planet. The planet was full of Devil Realm people, but fortunately, there were no Demon Sovereigns, so no one could see through Evan's disguise.

Evan Yang followed them to a ruined temple. Inside, many Devil Realm people had gathered. According to the man, they were all wanderers, just right to join him in a battle.

"Stay here. Once there are enough people, someone will come to assign you tasks. Got it?" the man said.

"Got it, thanks," Evan Yang replied. The man smiled and left. Evan stayed with the other Devil Realm wanderers until someone entered the temple, followed by several guards. He announced, "Welcome to the vanguard team. The front needs many people to open the passage, and now it's your turn to contribute your strength."

A commotion broke out—finally they could act. Soon Evan Yang and the others were brought to the formation, which was the other side of the Heaven‑Veiling Nine‑Mystic Grand Array.

Many people had gathered there. Each time, ten people stepped forward and poured power into a magic treasure, which then focused their combined strength onto the array. Though the effect was small, it was slowly tearing open the barrier.

Evan Yang noticed they'd already opened a hole about the size of a little finger, but unfortunately, it shrank a bit every so often. Still, the Devil Realm people didn't give up.

Then another group took their turn. Evan Yang and the others waited behind, and after about half an hour, it was Evan's turn. He and nine others poured their energy into the magic treasure, but Evan, of course, only used partial strength. He wanted to earn their trust first, so he could later ask about the origins of the gate.

When their round ended, everyone was out of breath and moved aside to rest.

Evan turned to the man on his right and asked, "Are you a lone cultivator too?"

"Yeah. What about you?" the man replied.

"Me too. I ended up here without realizing it. I still have unfinished business in the Devil Realm, but when I tried to go back, I couldn't find the way," Evan sighed.

"You mean the road? I'd say don't bother looking. The entrance keeps changing—sometimes it's on one side, sometimes the other, and sometimes it just disappears. Who knows what the Demon Lords are thinking? Maybe they're worried we'll run off and desert the army," the lone cultivator said with a sigh.

"Oh? So that's how it works. No wonder I can't find the way back." Evan was shocked—he hadn't expected the gate to shift like this.

"So just focus on breaking through this side and fighting forward. The more territory we take, the sooner the Immortal Realm will belong to the Devil Realm," the man laughed.

Evan forced a laugh, but inwardly he realized that finding the gate would be much trickier than he'd thought.

"Do I really have to search everywhere?" Evan muttered to himself.

Just as Evan was wondering what to do next, the man suddenly offered a glimmer of hope. He smiled and said, "Actually, I've heard the Devil Realm administrators know exactly where the entrance appears. They have schedules and locations for the gate—otherwise, how could they always meet incoming reinforcements so precisely?"

"That's true. I almost forgot—someone was there to receive us when we arrived," Evan said.

"Exactly," the man laughed.

Evan thought for a moment and asked, "So, what kind of person counts as an administrator?"

"You mean the administrator? Every stronghold has one. For example, here, our administrator goes every day to a fixed place to report to the Demon Lord, get instructions, and then come back to arrange today's tasks," the man explained. "So that's how it works—thanks for the info," Evan said with a smile.

"No need to thank me," the man replied with a smile.

Evan smiled, then started planning to slip away and find the administrator of this stronghold to ask about the gate between the Immortal Realm and Devil Realm.

Soon, after Evan and the others had contributed their energy several times and the formation was saturated, they were rotated off duty and allowed to rest on the planet. But Evan didn't rest—instead, he left the ruined temple and wandered the streets, watching the Devil Realm patrols in the sky, trying to deduce where the administrator might be.

After observing the city streets for a long time, Evan finally saw an airborne patrol heading toward a certain spot—the old city lord's mansion. Many guards were stationed outside. Evan guessed this must be the administrator's headquarters, and began planning how to infiltrate.
