Evan Chu’s rampage through Sea-Sky City left everyone in the city terrified. Someone had actually dared to openly declare war on the City Lord! Very few people knew the City Lord had actually fallen, but the destruction of the City Lord’s Mansion—and the sheer power behind it—became the focus of everyone’s gossip.
For a while, Evan Chu and Silver Dragon’s names became shrouded in mystery throughout Sea-Sky City, while the two of them simply returned to the inn.
The innkeeper was stunned to see Evan Chu and Silver Dragon return unharmed, his face full of suspicion. “Sirs, it’s a relief you came back safely. Was all that chaos at the City Lord’s Mansion really your doing?” he asked.
“That’s right. I don’t know why you’re so interested in the City Lord’s Mansion, but since you’ve looked after us, I’ll tell you: the current City Lord of Sea-Sky City is dead, and the Mansion is in ruins. If you want to see it, you still have time. Once the experts from East Sea Domain Palace arrive, you won’t get another chance.” Evan Chu said calmly.
“Thank you, sirs! I really do have urgent business at the City Lord’s Mansion. The City Lord took my son—I have to rescue him! Now that the old thief is dead, things will be much easier. No time to waste, I’ll go save my boy right now!” The innkeeper said, face flushed with excitement.
Evan Chu didn’t say much more, and went with Silver Dragon straight to their room. The middle-aged man and Mina were anxiously waiting, and when Evan Chu and Silver Dragon walked in, both were shocked. “Benefactor, you’re alright? The commotion at the City Lord’s Mansion was enormous—we were worried sick!”
“We’re fine, but thank you for worrying. We shouldn’t stay here any longer—once the East Sea Domain Palace experts arrive, we won’t be able to leave even if we want to,” Evan Chu said.
“Benefactor, you should go on ahead. We’re weak, and sticking with you will only drag you down. Besides, no one knows we’re connected to you, so we should be safe,” the middle-aged man said.
“Aren’t you trying to get back to North Sea Dominion Palace? If we leave, how will you return? And Mina still needs the Ghostshade Herb to break the seal on her body. Without our help, how will you get it?
Since fate brought us together, I want you to take me to the secret realm where you met that supreme expert years ago. We really want to leave this place—there are important things waiting for me to do back in the land regions,” Evan Chu said.
The middle-aged man frowned slightly and said, “But we’re so slow—it’ll be hard to leave quickly. We appreciate your kindness, but let’s wait until this crisis is over.”
“I have a way to get you out. Don’t refuse! Silver Dragon can enter my Timewheel Bracelet too—the divine power inside is abundant, perfect for recovering strength,” Evan Chu said with a smile.
“Young Lord, I sense a powerful aura scanning all of Sea-Sky City. If I’m not mistaken, the East Sea Domain Palace people are here already. I didn’t expect them to arrive so fast—it’s going to be hard for us to leave,” Silver Dragon said.
“It’s fine, it’s fine! We can just stay here for a while and leave after they’re gone. They won’t be able to find us anyway!” Evan Chu laughed.
The middle-aged man and Mina were both stunned for a moment, but Mina quickly remembered how Evan Chu had rescued her father from the street. “Thank you, Young Lord. We’ll do as you say!” Mina said with a smile.
The middle-aged man didn’t understand why Mina agreed so quickly, but he kept his questions to himself. Evan Chu said, “No time to waste—go inside now. I’ve got some friends in there I’ll introduce you to; they’re all from the land regions.”
The middle-aged man and Mina both nodded in agreement. Evan Chu focused his mind and brought Silver Dragon, the middle-aged man, and Mina into the Timewheel Bracelet, while he himself stayed outside.
Once inside the Timewheel Bracelet, all three were amazed—none of them expected Evan Chu to have such a spatial divine artifact. Silver Dragon and the middle-aged man were both well-traveled, and a treasure with such a vast space and abundant divine power had to be a top-tier artifact.
Although Sea-Clan people are somewhat repelled by divine power, they can still absorb it—it’s just not very effective. But for someone in the Sea Regions without Water Spirit Crystals to cultivate, it’s actually pretty good. If he trains here for a while, he might even break through his current realm.
But Mina didn’t dare to cultivate recklessly—she already had a ticking time bomb inside her, and if anything went wrong, it would be a disaster. Silver Dragon didn’t worry about any of that; after his battle with the Sea-Sky City Lord, he’d burned through a lot of divine power, so he sat down and began absorbing energy as fast as he could.
Evan Chu quickly left the inn—after all, the East Sea Domain Palace experts were extremely powerful, and there was no need to confront them head-on. So he chose to hide. As he left the inn, he activated Light Transformation to conceal himself; even late-stage God-Venerable experts would have a hard time detecting him.
He walked to a deserted corner, revealed himself with a thought, and then used Earthshift to burrow into the ground. No matter how strong his enemies were, they wouldn’t know he was underground—especially since he was about to enter the Timewheel Bracelet.
Meanwhile, ten people hovered above the City Lord’s Mansion—three elders, six middle-aged men, and a strikingly seductive woman. The aura they gave off showed that all ten were late-stage God-Venerables, with two even at the peak.
“Grand Elder, have those two already escaped?” one of the middle-aged men asked an elder.
“They shouldn’t have escaped. I locked down thousands of miles around here before we arrived—they never left Sea-Sky City. If I’m right, they’re still somewhere in the city, but right now I can’t sense their aura,” the elder replied.
“Big Brother, the transmission token carries those two’s aura. Why not use the Soul-Net Search Art to scan all of Sea-Sky City? The Palace Lord is furious—if we don’t find the killers of his son, we’ll be punished when we return,” another elder urged.
The Grand Elder’s face changed slightly, looking hesitant. “Big Brother, I know using the Soul-Net Search Art drains your energy. How about we each give you a top-grade Water Spirit Crystal to absorb afterward?”
“Once we find those two, you won’t have to fight—just catching them will earn you the credit. We just don’t want to be punished by the Palace Lord when we get back!” the elder continued.
After a moment, the Grand Elder made up his mind. “Alright. If they’re in Sea-Sky City, I’ll find them even if I have to dig three feet underground!” As he spoke, a powerful white light appeared in his palm…
