Brandon Bi naturally sensed Evan Yang's intentions and snorted coldly. "Even without those three interfering, I can still take you down!"
"Oh? You're that confident?" Evan Yang sneered after shaking off the other three with his speed.
"I may be ranked fifth on the Points Leaderboard, but my cultivation is already at the ninth tier. Do you really think you can handle me?" Brandon Bi snorted back.
"Is that so? Then I really want to see just how strong you ninth-tier types are." Evan Yang was now fully prepared for a showdown.
After all, the ninth tier was still a cut above the eighth. Once a ninth-tier cultivator accumulates enough, they break through to Heavenly-Immortal. Evan Yang had witnessed Heavenly-Immortal power before—never fought one, but he knew it was anything but simple.
The two clashed fiercely. Whenever Evan Yang unleashed his Sacred Flame, Brandon dodged, refusing to touch it. At the same time, Brandon threw punches at Evan, who quickly darted aside to evade each attack.
"Strange, how is his speed so fast?" Brandon wondered, baffled. Every punch he threw was dodged with ease—Evan's evasiveness was simply unbelievable.
Evan Yang hadn't expected the gap between ninth and eighth tier to be this wide. There was a clear difference in both speed and attack power.
If Evan didn't go all out, he couldn't defeat Brandon. But if he did, he'd expose himself—his fists could explode with many times their usual power.
Unless there was absolutely no other choice, he wouldn't use that trump card. Right now, he was supposed to be crippled—if anyone found out, even a little, Immortal Lord Lin would definitely make a big move.
The two, evenly matched in strength, moved and fought at breakneck speed. Their flash steps brought them here one moment, there the next, flickering across different spots. Some onlookers were stunned, while the stronger ones could see clearly who was fighting whom.
When people saw it was Evan Yang battling the fifth-ranked fighter, disbelief spread across their faces. Were these two really going head-to-head here?
This kind of thing was normal—many started fights outside, not necessarily settling things inside Ethereal Sanctuary.
But seeing a fourth-tier fighting a ninth-tier was hard to believe. Whether from the First Palace or other Palaces, everyone wondered who this guy was, how he could challenge someone so far above his level.
Curious onlookers followed the two as they fought, flickering along with their movements. The pace was entirely set by Evan Yang.
After all, Brandon was out to hunt Evan Yang, so he had to chase him.
Evan knew many were watching. If he wanted to shake Brandon off, he'd have to defeat him—and that meant striking decisively, leaving no survivors. Otherwise, news that he wasn't really crippled would spread fast and reach Immortal Lord Lin.
So Evan kept moving, deeper and deeper. Only the strongest could keep up, while weaker ones gradually lost track. Brandon's speed started to lag behind Evan's, and he stared in disbelief. "How are you still this fast?"
"Want to know? Catch me first." Evan Yang sneered, and kept going.
The chase continued until Evan reached a very deep area—even he had no idea how far he'd gone. Only when he was sure there were no others around did he finally stop.
Seeing Evan Yang finally stop, Brandon halted as well and looked at him. "So you finally decided to stop running."
"There shouldn't be anyone else here now," Evan Yang said.
Brandon looked around in surprise, scanning with his divine sense but finding no trace of people—only Shard Bugs. He was a bit shocked. "Where is this place?"
"Seems pretty deep inside," Evan Yang replied.
"What? Are you crazy? Damn it, kid—if you want to die, don't drag me down with you!" Brandon knew this area might have larvae whose power rivaled Heavenly-Immortals. He didn't think he could win; all he wanted now was to cripple Evan and leave fast.
"Ready to fight?" Evan Yang smiled at Brandon's movements.
"Of course. Once I cripple you, I can leave. This place isn't fit for anyone to stay." Brandon snorted.
"Afraid, are you?" Evan Yang noticed Brandon's fear and laughed.
"Kid, you've never seen a larva, so of course you're not scared. If you saw how terrifying they are, you wouldn't be so calm." Brandon snorted.
"Heavenly-Immortal level," Evan Yang sneered.
