Chapter 424: Fifth-Tier Mage

Leon, who came from thirty thousand years in the future, undoubtedly took a shortcut...

The final magical inheritance of King Ronan of the Caucasus was truly difficult to obtain. If Leon hadn’t come from thirty thousand years in the future, he would never have discovered the deeper intentions of King Ronan, nor would he have had a chance to acquire the Sixfold Meditation Codex...

Previously, Leon read and pondered as he went. By the time he finished the last book, he already had a rough outline in his mind. He estimated it would take him at most one day to work out the six formulas of the Meditation Codex.

The soft rustling of parchment filled the air. Anderson watched from the side as another day slipped by. The young mage suddenly stopped writing, picked up a sheet of parchment, and examined it carefully. Seeing this, Anderson couldn’t help but exclaim, "Leon, did you figure it out?"

"Yeah..."

Leon nodded. On the parchment in his hand, there were only six simple formulas, but to Leon, these six formulas were the most precious things in the world.

King Ronan of the Caucasus truly was a genius...

After a moment of reflection, Leon couldn’t help but sigh. The magical knowledge involved in these formulas wasn’t particularly profound—even ordinary Title Mages could understand most of it. But to be able to weave together such complex magical knowledge and create this astonishing Meditation Codex proves Ronan was a true genius. Even compared to the greatest figures of the magical civilization’s golden age, Ronan’s creativity in magic was second to none...

Even in this era, Ronan is still the first person worthy of being called a genius.

After obtaining the formulas, Leon sat in a quiet corner of the library. Before studying this set of meditation laws, he deliberately gave it a name: Equilibrium Codex.

The greatest value of the Equilibrium Codex is that, as a core meditation law, it can be integrated into a mana array, allowing two other meditation laws to also be used as core codices. Any meditation law that Leon values must be the best in Northend World. Even a single top-tier codex would surpass all others of this era, let alone two.

This isn’t as simple as one plus one equals two.

Without hesitation, Leon chose the Void Furnace Codex. He had personally experienced its power. In the era thirty thousand years later, as Northend World declined, countless precious meditation laws were left to rot in empty libraries. The Void Furnace Codex was the most widespread at that time, and most people chose it as their core codex.

Mages who master the Void Furnace Codex can turn themselves into a furnace, refining all things. Even Voidstorms can be transformed into magical power within the Void Furnace. It’s said to be the least picky of all meditation laws in Northend World’s history.

Leon remembered that, in the magic-starved Northend World thirty thousand years later, the Void Furnace Codex saved countless mages. At that time, drawing magic from Voidstorms was almost the only way for mages to gain power.

Leon himself was among them.

Moreover, this meditation law is extremely powerful!

Powerful enough to have sixteen formulas!

What does it mean to have sixteen formulas?

Throughout the millions of years of Northend's history, the strongest meditation codex had only fifteen formulas, but the Void Furnace Codex truly has sixteen.

The Void Furnace Codex is also the only meditation law composed of sixteen formulas.

After arriving in this era, Leon planned to use the Void Furnace Codex as his core meditation law. But the Equilibrium Codex, created by King Ronan, made him hesitate for more than half a year. Normally, a mage confirms their core codex by the ninth tier and integrates it with runes, but Leon delayed until now.

Fortunately, this trip to the Turin Mountains allowed him to obtain the Equilibrium Codex, though it was arduous.

The creator of the top-tier Void Furnace Codex was Josona, a legendary Sky Rank mage at the end of the magical golden age. He became a mage at sixty-five, dedicating most of his life to researching the Void Furnace. The year after reaching magehood, he created the codex, shocking all of Northend.

For a time, all of Northend was obsessed with the codex. Josona was worshipped by fervent mages and called the Father of the Void Furnace. Even Sky Rank mages treated him with utmost respect.

In the rigidly hierarchical magical world, only Josona ever enjoyed such treatment.

When Josona created the Void Furnace, he was only a mage, but even Title Mages and Sky Rank experts treated him as a disciple would a teacher.

This alone shows how highly Josona was regarded in Northend at the time.

And that's not all...

Josona reached magehood at sixty-five, created the Void Furnace at sixty-six, became a Title Mage at sixty-eight and was called the Storm Conqueror. Six years later, as the Void Conqueror, he ascended to Sky Rank, and his name again shook Northend.

It was only then that people suddenly realized...

Josona's magical talent far exceeded anyone's imagination.

The reason he didn't become a mage earlier wasn't lack of talent, but that he spent all his time researching the Void Furnace.

He was a true genius, possessing magical talent beyond imagination.

Later, Josona's secret was revealed: at fourteen, he had already created a twelve-formula meditation law and made it his core codex.

In that era, a twelve-formula codex was just average. Many wondered why Josona didn't use a higher-tier codex, but instead created a new one with only twelve formulas.

Actually, the codex wasn't complete. By the time Josona became a fifth-tier mage, the Void Furnace had grown to fourteen formulas. After reaching the ninth tier, it had fifteen.

Even in the golden age, a fifteen-formula codex was top-tier, and there were only a few in all of Northend, held by the most powerful factions.

But Josona wasn't satisfied.

He spent thirty years to give the Void Furnace sixteen formulas, even pausing his magical cultivation to do so.

It was the first and last sixteen-formula codex in Northend.

Decades later, powerful mages conquered countless planes and turned to the Abyss. Josona, at the peak of Sky Rank, led a group of mages to the twentieth layer, even killing the desolate lord Galax himself.

In the end, Josona's Void Furnace Codex was left in the decaying, empty library.

The other codex Leon chose was the Elemental Heart, composed of fifteen formulas. Though not quite as strong as the Void Furnace, even in the era thirty thousand years later, it was among the very best.

Leon chose Elemental Heart because it was the most comprehensive codex for earth, water, fire, and wind elements he’d ever seen. Now that he possessed the Void Furnace and two alchemical mana vortices, his magical power was endless. Codices that accelerated mana conversion were no longer necessary.

At this point, Leon no longer needed the famous codices of history.

Leon needed a codex that could supplement both his mana array and the Void Furnace, and the more comprehensive the better.

Without a doubt, Elemental Heart was the best fit.

For the next while, Leon didn’t open his eyes.

Leon began integrating all three codices into his mana array as core meditation laws.

This process was extremely lengthy. In the blink of an eye, a month passed, and Leon was still sitting motionless in the same corner of the library.

Anderson waited by his side, knowing it would be a long process, but he never imagined it would take a whole month.

Ordinary mages take at most a day to integrate their core codex into runes, but Leon had shown no movement after a month.

Just as Anderson was marveling, a surge of magical energy erupted from Leon, whipping up a storm in the library and shredding countless books. If not for the building’s magical protection, it would have been destroyed.

Anderson was stunned. He turned to Leon, eyes filled with shock. Just integrating the codex into runes caused such commotion, and he could sense Leon’s magical energy was at least ten times stronger than before.

In other words, Leon’s power increased at least tenfold.

...

No, that’s not all...

Anderson could clearly feel the magical energy from the young mage surging rapidly!

Third-tier Mage...

Fourth-tier Mage...

Fifth-tier Mage...
