Nolan Drake, Why Are You Still Not Here
It's not the godlike enemies you should fear—it's the pig-like teammates.
Serena Feng and William had already spotted Felix Fuller and his group—otherwise, she wouldn’t have been sprinting with William on her back. But now, look what happened...
The Skyvault Palace Sect’s people didn’t notice them, but Felix did—and not only did he spot them, he shouted, giving away their position.
If Serena hadn’t seen Felix being chased by Skyvault Palace, she’d have suspected he was a wolf in pig’s clothing—actually one of Skyvault’s own, ready to betray them at the crucial moment.
With someone on her back, Serena’s speed couldn’t match the enemy’s. After barely a hundred steps, they were overtaken.
“Serena, this was an accident.” Felix Fuller was surrounded too, his clothes torn and marked with wounds, but his spirit was intact—he looked mostly fine.
He couldn’t win in a fight, but he could at least outrun them.
“What a pain—Felix, carry William for me. When I say run, you break out. Don’t worry about me.” Serena motioned for Felix to take William.
Felix and William had no objections. William didn’t know Felix, but being carried by a man was better than by a woman—and anyone Serena trusted, he trusted too.
“Break out, huh? Big words. I’d like to see how far you get, surrounded by the Thirty-Six Starfall Guards. Except for the Grand Heir, no one else matters—especially that woman. I don’t want to see her; make sure she’s wiped out. I want her body gone, not even bones left.” Sienna Skyvault hadn’t yet seen how much Serena resembled her—if she had, she’d be even less likely to let Serena go.
“Not even bones left? So ruthless at your age. William, you really have terrible luck with women like this.” With William’s weight gone, Serena moved with sudden agility. As the Skyvault Palace people charged, she drew her gun and signaled Felix to protect William.
With a crisp snap, the bullet was chambered and the safety flicked off. The moment they rushed her, Serena didn’t retreat—she advanced. Bang bang bang... gunfire erupted.
Bullets struck home, blasting bloody holes in the Thirty-Six Starfall Guards. Blood sprayed, and the ones in front collapsed one after another.
“Careful, she’s got a hidden weapon!” The Thirty-Six Starfall Guards were Skyvault Palace’s elite—usually, at most one or two fell per mission. But this time, six went down instantly. It was a huge blow.
“No retreat! Except for the Grand Heir, everyone must die. If there’s trouble, I’ll take responsibility.” Sienna Skyvault didn’t back down—she only grew more furious, her gaze at Serena turning even more vicious.
The Thirty-Six Starfall Guards didn’t dare hesitate. Even terrified of Serena’s hidden weapon, under Sienna’s orders they charged forward, ready to die. Their plan: sacrifice some to pin Serena down.
Damn, that’s brutal. Is Skyvault Palace some kind of demonic sect? How can they treat lives like weeds? Serena’s head throbbed with frustration.
“Felix, get William down the mountain. Please—take care of him for me. If you can get him back to the Capital, I’ll give you what you asked for.” Serena gripped her gun and charged forward, determined to carve a bloody path for them.
“Serena...” William shook his head, disagreeing. “Hand me over—they won’t kill me. If your life is the price for my freedom, I’d rather stay captive.”
“Don’t be stupid. If you wanted to go with them, you’d have gone already.” With a sharp crack, Serena shot the lead attacker’s arm. Before he could react, she closed in, snapped his arm, twisted his elbow, and slammed it into his gut—using her smaller strength to fold him up in agony, leaving him writhing on the ground.
That’s the doctor’s advantage—she knew exactly where to hit so her target couldn’t get back up.
Taking advantage of the moment, Serena spun, gripped her gun in both hands, and sprayed bullets toward the mountain path—tearing open the Thirty-Six Starfall Guards’ encirclement. “Felix, go!”
“Got it.” Even though William disagreed, Felix still hoisted him and dashed out.
Come on, stick around and wait to die together? Serena wasn’t some helpless girl.
“So you can fight too? Now this is interesting. If you think you can break out of the Thirty-Six Starfall Guards’ siege, you’re dreaming.” Sienna whipped out her long whip with a crack, lashing it toward Serena.
Serena dodged to the side, not even glancing at Sienna. She tucked her handgun at her waist, strode forward, and kicked a man in the back, sending him sprawling. She knelt beside him, driving her knee into his ribs with a crack—breaking them clean through.
She might not kill them, but she could make sure they couldn’t move. When another wave rushed in, Serena spun, back-to-back with the downed man, and lashed out with her long legs at the next attacker.
Seeing Serena had real skills, Felix figured she probably wouldn’t suffer much, so he didn’t hesitate—he ran with William.
After all, these people were after the man on his back. If he took William away, Serena should be fine. A woman who survived a raging inferno wasn’t going to die so easily.
That’s what Felix thought.
“Chase them! Forget that dead woman—go after the Grand Heir. If he escapes, there’s no one left for me to marry, and I’ll hold you all responsible.” Sienna Skyvault wanted to kill Serena, but she wanted William even more.
In her whole life, she’d never met a man as perfect as the Grand Heir. From the first glance, she was smitten—and secretly vowed to have him at any cost.
She’d never liked anyone this much—so much that every time she closed her eyes, she saw him, every part of her body yearning for him...
To get William, she used her father’s authority to send word to several ambitious Wang elders, intercepting William’s plea for help and forbidding the clan from sending anyone to rescue him.

She promised the Wang clan she wouldn’t kill William—she just wanted him to marry her. She’d bring half of Skyvault Palace’s wealth and power as her dowry.
“Yes, young miss.” Only twenty-six of the Thirty-Six Starfall Guards remained—their worst losses ever. Yet they voiced no complaints, trampling their comrades’ bodies as they charged forward.
“Leaving? That depends on whether I allow it.” With no one targeting her, Serena quickly reloaded—a crisp snap as the magazine locked in. She licked the blood from her lips, gripped her gun, took aim...
Bang—gunfire rang out. The lead runner’s skull burst open, dropping him instantly.
“Bitch, you ruined everything! You want to die?” Sienna’s whip snapped like a snake at Serena again. Serena dodged left and right, firing several times but unable to hit her target.
Serena gritted her teeth in hatred, facing a woman whose face resembled her own by seven-tenths. Serena narrowed her eyes, hiding the murderous light inside. When Sienna whipped at her again, Serena didn’t dodge—she charged forward, taking the blow on her back.
Crack! Sienna’s whip lashed across Serena’s back.
“Ah!” Serena cried out in pain, her back burning so fiercely her legs nearly buckled.
“Hmph, bitch—let’s see you act tough now.” Sienna smirked, yanking hard. With a tearing sound, a whip mark as wide as a finger split Serena’s back, some places cut so deep bone showed.
Sienna’s whip was studded with tiny hooks that dug into flesh—when she yanked, it ripped out chunks of meat. In the sunlight, the whip gleamed a wicked red, with shreds of flesh still clinging to it.
Serena suffered badly, but Sienna didn’t escape unscathed. The moment the whip struck, Serena fired at Sienna’s heart.
Bang—the bullet struck near Sienna’s heart. Serena smiled with grim satisfaction. Killing someone who looked like her was unsettling, but unless this woman died, William’s troubles would never end.
If it took a grievous wound to kill her, Serena wouldn’t hesitate.
But...
Thud—she heard the bullet hit, but saw no blood from Sienna’s chest, nor did Sienna fall. The impact only staggered her back a few steps—then she charged again, whipping even harder than before.
