In the Spirit Alliance infirmary, a patient of noble status was staying: Second Prince Jason Xiao.
His newly-wedded consort, Jenna Summers, was by his side caring for him.
Naturally, Lucy Luan had no desire to provoke them, so she always avoided that area.
But she never expected they’d barge right into her territory.
Lucy lived on Redleaf Mountain, where she had her own private alchemy room.
That day, as she dragged her wild Moonlit Flood-Dragon cub back, she saw Jason and Jenna had climbed Redleaf Mountain and hacked her beautiful Immortal Red Plum under the window into a bald stump!
Then she overheard Jenna say, “This isn’t enough—break off more! I want to take home enough for several vases!”
Alchemy rooms in the Spirit Alliance generally don’t have Spirit Barriers.
Because when refining pills, you need to absorb the essence of heaven and earth, let spiritual energy flow, and vent waste fumes.
But anyone with manners knows not to barge in uninvited.
Clearly, these two didn’t know the rules at all.
Seeing her centuries-old Immortal Red Plum reduced to that sorry state, Lucy’s heart bled. She called out, “Second Prince!”
The two of them turned to look at her.
Jenna arched her brow and called out mockingly, “Wow! Isn’t this the infamous little demon everyone’s talking about lately? What are you doing here?”
“This is my alchemy room,” Lucy replied flatly. “The red plum in your hand is the window flower I’ve been nurturing for hundreds of years.”
“From your tone... Are you blaming me for breaking your plum tree?”
“Well, what’s done is done. Just take it and go,” Lucy said coolly. “Change the water every three days and it’ll keep blooming.”
With that, she walked into the alchemy room.
But to her surprise, Jenna suddenly flung the plum branches to the ground and stomped them over and over, crushing every beautiful blossom to pulp.
Then she spat and sneered, “If I’d known these were demon flowers, I wouldn’t have picked them! No way I’d let my noble hands be tainted!”
Lucy stared at the crushed flowers on the ground for a long moment before spitting out one word: "Get lost!"
“Get lost?” Jenna laughed. “You actually dare tell me to get lost? Do you still think you’re Lucy Luan, the darling who got love letters from every man in Drake Abyss? Now you’re nothing but a street rat everyone wants to beat! What right do you have to tell me to leave? You and your mother should be thrown into the Demon Sealing Well and buried there—that’s where you belong!”
Smack! Lucy slapped her hard across the face.
Jenna’s cultivation was far lower than Lucy’s. She was knocked to the ground, one side of her face swelling grotesquely.
Lucy planted her foot on Jenna’s hand and ground down, nearly breaking the bones. “Jenna, you really are the ultimate breed of cheap woman! Haven’t you always been jealous of me? Well, let me tell you—whether I’m god or demon, you’ll never measure up!”
Jenna’s hand was nearly crushed as she shrieked like a slaughtered pig, “Ah! My hand! Second Prince! Save me!”
“Let her go!” Jason Xiao drew his sword and slashed at Lucy.
Clang! A crisp metallic ring sounded.
His sword was flicked away.
Soren Lann appeared, radiating a cold and powerful aura. “Second Prince, what do you think you’re doing?”
Jason pointed at Lucy. “Didn’t you see? This demoness is trampling my consort!”
“Oh wow! Senior Sister, what’s going on here?” Soren asked.
Lucy silently pointed to the shredded blossoms on the ground.
Soren looked shocked. “Senior Sister, you’ve cultivated this Immortal Red Plum for centuries, watering and pruning it yourself. How did it end up like this? What happened? Was it your consort who did this, Second Prince?”
