In an instant, two massive guillotine blades materialized in Ryan Ling's hands, and he swung them fiercely at Zane Ouyang and Victor Hua.
This strike was absolutely lethal—if it landed, the two of them would be dead for sure!
At that moment, neither of them hesitated; they instantly shouted, "Century Witch of China, save us now!"
Just as they finished shouting, two gigantic vines came roaring in from the direction of Yan Capital. These vines were pitch-black, stretching for hundreds of kilometers, and inside them rolled thick, black liquid.
And right as those vines whipped across the sky, the massive black hand Ryan had formed with his Nascent Soul power exploded apart in an instant.
"Ryan, watch out! This sudden new force is insanely strong—I seriously recommend not going head-to-head!" Ghost Elder instantly warned, seeing the situation flip like that.
Ryan could feel it too—the Century Witch those two just called for was obviously no ordinary person. Anyone standing behind Zane Ouyang and Victor Hua had to be from the Kunlun League. No one else could pull off something like this!
And this trip to Yan Capital—Ryan’s biggest worry was exactly the Kunlun League. These people are the core of global terror; nobody dares mess with them!
"Forget it, I'll let these two bastards off today!" Ryan cracked his knuckles, then immediately retreated with Sophia Long and Cindy Nang. His main mission in Jiangnorth was done—the most important people were rescued, which was already a huge win. As for Marshal Deng Xiao, even Victor Hua wouldn’t dare move against him for now.
"Trying to leave? You stepped into the Century Witch’s encirclement—think you can run?" Just as Ryan tried to go, a middle-aged woman’s voice rang out, and suddenly a terrifying female face appeared in the northern sky. She had a head of white hair, a freakishly youthful face, and blood-red eyes locked on Ryan.
Getting hit by her gaze, Ryan felt like he'd just been dumped into a bottomless ice pit—chilled to the bone, straight up freezing.
He was in the Nascent Soul Stage—even if it was temporary, his power had shot up tens of thousands of times. But even with that kind of defense, Ryan still felt the chill. If he was rocking his old cultivation, that one look would've frozen him solid!
Ghost Elder telling him to bail? Yep, totally the right call!
"Retreat!" Ryan didn't hesitate for a second—he dumped all his power into his legs. Getting outta here was priority number one!
But just as Ryan was scrambling to escape, the Century Witch let out a freaky, inhuman scream. In a flash, a swarm of white hair shot out, wrapping tight around his legs.
The hair practically started burrowing into his legs like it wanted to fuse with him.
"Damn, she's strong!" Ryan's heart skipped a beat. This Century Witch was no joke—even now, he couldn't get a read on just how OP she really was!
And that freaky hair? Each strand was stronger than Victor Hua or Zane Ouyang’s God-Realm power!
"Come back here, kid!" The Century Witch sneered, her hair tightening like crazy. Ryan’s legs were yanked back against his will.
"Century Witch, unstoppable for a thousand generations!" Seeing her flex, Victor Hua and Zane Ouyang started fangirling hard. Ryan was seriously shook—these two were supposed to be top dogs in China, and now they were simping for a monster!
No doubt about it—the Kunlun League had totally infiltrated the top brass in China.
But Ryan wasn't about to just roll over. No way some weird hair was gonna keep him down.
"Nascent Soul power—break!" Ryan gritted his teeth and blasted out his power. Instantly, those white hairs—tougher than steel wires a billion times over—started snapping one by one.
"Nice moves, kid! So you really are a cultivator!" The Century Witch snarled, her face twisting with pure rage.
Ryan froze, feeling an endless wave of cold blast out from the old witch. He started shivering all over, no cap.
"Ryan, this is bad! That old hag's ice powers are next-level—she can freeze immortal energy! Notice how your eruption time is dropping crazy fast?" Ghost Elder freaked out inside him. Turns out, the Century Witch wasn’t just packing raw attack power—her corrosion was off the charts. Even Nascent Soul-level defenses were getting shredded.
Ryan was the worst possible target for this kind of attack. He glanced at the clock—his Nascent Soul timer was already down to less than five minutes!
"So you’re just a fake Nascent Soul, huh?" The Century Witch’s eyes flashed—she instantly saw through Ryan’s power-up and started cackling like she’d won the lottery.
Ryan sucked in a breath. The Century Witch was totally busted—fighting her head-on was like trying to break a rock with an egg. Her power was crushing him, and to make things worse, a bunch of other top-tier freaks were popping up in Yan Capital, each one packing major weirdness.
"Get out, now!" The whole Chow Family forbidden zone just hit DEFCON 1—Ghost Elder was sweating buckets.
He thought popping Nascent Soul for a bit would be enough to hold the line, but the Kunlun League turned out way scarier than he’d imagined—like, straight-up nemesis material for cultivators.
His Nascent Soul time was down to under a minute—no time to hesitate. Ryan couldn’t even run fast enough. He didn’t overthink it: squeezed out the last drop of Dragon Breath in his body. That stuff was clutch—back in Jinling, it was the only reason he got away, all thanks to the power in those dragon scales.
Dragon power hits different—it slices open space itself, letting you teleport. It’s not just any energy; it’s pure Heaven-Tribulation lightning, way stronger than Nascent Soul.

Ryan fused his Dragon Breath, and bam—a deep crack split the air. He grabbed Sophia Long and Cindy Nang and dove straight in!
"Trying to run? Get back here!" The Century Witch wasn’t letting it go—her white hair went wild, slashing straight for the spatial rift.
Ryan didn’t hesitate—he focused all his power into one point and blasted out. It was his last-ditch move, and it left him totally wiped, nearly passing out inside the rift.
But that hit was savage—and he aimed it right at the spatial crack, not the hair. It was a pro move, and the impact nearly knocked him out.
The crack freaked out, slamming shut. All that endless white hair got shredded inside, and the Century Witch on the other side screamed—losing her hair was pure agony.
"Ryan Ling, I want you dead, DEAD—!" Her curses pierced the void, and even though the crack was closed, her voice still got through.
Ryan was drenched in cold sweat, totally spent. Not only was his power wiped, but Guihai One-Blade’s Life Core was tapped out—he was back to Golden Core stage, and even that felt dim!
No question—the Century Witch was way beyond anything he’d imagined.
"If I’m right, that witch is the Kunlun League’s Century Witch. She’s at the absolute peak of ninth-tier God-Realm—way above Nascent Soul! If you convert that to cultivator terms, she’s mid-stage Nascent Soul at least. I can’t believe KL sent someone this cracked to China!" Ghost Elder’s face was pale—he clearly knew the Kunlun League inside out.
"Ghost Elder, thanks for the heads-up. If you hadn’t warned me, I’d probably have tried to flex and gotten wrecked!" Ryan wiped his sweaty forehead, just thinking about that Century Witch gave him the chills.
"Don’t thank me!" Ghost Elder shook it off. "You need to head south with Guihai One-Blade, ASAP. If I’m right, they’ll hit back hard—and that Century Witch is crazy vengeful. Her hair is her baby; if anyone rips it, she’ll wipe out their whole clan. Move, now—run all night if you have to…"
