Journey to Healer's Sanctuary

12/2/2025

Upon hearing this, the people rushing to travel around them grew impatient, but out of respect for Morgan Shangguan's status, they dared not complain.

Morgan Shangguan gracefully stepped down from the carriage, frowned as she surveyed the scene, then said to Susie Yun, "You should ride a horse."

Susie Yun frowned and asked, "What about the Guildmaster?" Her gaze involuntarily drifted toward Damien Gray’s carriage, but she quickly dismissed the idea—her mistress and the prince mustn’t be too close right now!

Just as she was thinking this, Morgan Shangguan walked straight toward Damien Gray’s carriage, smiling lightly as she spoke, "Ghostmaster, you wouldn’t mind sharing a carriage with your Guildmaster, would you?"

A chilly voice drifted from inside the carriage, "If Cloud Guildmaster were to hand over her share of the treasure to me!"

Morgan Shangguan laughed softly, "It doesn’t matter. Sooner or later, the entire Ghost Guild will be mine anyway!" With that, she climbed into the carriage.

Her tone made it clear she didn’t take Ghostmaster seriously at all!

Listening to their exchange, Duanmu Xun sighed. Although discord between the Ghost Guild and Cloud Guild benefited the righteous factions, if the two really fought to the death, it would spell disaster.

The heroic ladies who had worked up the courage to ride or share a carriage with the Cloud Guildmaster instantly lost their spirit.

Inside the carriage, Damien Gray looked at Morgan Shangguan with a half-smile and asked, "How could such a sturdy carriage suddenly break down?"

Morgan Shangguan leaned directly into his embrace, holding his waist and murmured, "I'm tired."

Damien Gray gently stroked her hair and chuckled. Morgan Shangguan reminded him, "There are people outside!"

Damien Gray replied unconcernedly, "Don’t worry, no one will get too close to my carriage!" Besides, Maxwell Jing was no slouch—he’d dutifully drive away anyone who came near!

That’s the benefit of being on the demonic side—no need for explanations!

Ethan Gu hadn’t come along, nor did Damien Gray have anyone replace him. He usually brought Ethan Gu and Maxwell Jing because they worked seamlessly together, able to do the work of many. Anyone else wouldn’t measure up, and might even cause trouble with differing opinions—sometimes, one is better than many!

A journey that should have taken a month was finished in just half that time—a testament to the treasure’s allure!

Only upon arriving at the outskirts of Healer's Sanctuary did they realize that members from every sect were already waiting. No wonder, for a treasure hunt of this magnitude, everyone traveled light and fast—they’d already made preparations!

Morgan Shangguan and Damien Gray stepped down from the carriage, once again acting as if they had no interest in each other—though only moments before, they’d been locked in a passionate kiss!

Morgan Shangguan glanced at the scene, which looked more like a martial arts assembly than a treasure hunt. She straightened her sleeves with effortless grace and remarked, "The Ghost Guild didn’t send anyone. It seems Ghostmaster is quite confident!"

Damien Gray’s lips curled up. "Likewise." His demonic charm carried a trace of chill, making him all the more captivating. As a group of women nearby couldn’t help but stare, Morgan Shangguan frowned, a hint of displeasure showing in her bearing.

Seeing her reaction, the curve of Damien Gray’s lips deepened. Those watching drew a conclusion: Ghostmaster had the upper hand in this round!

The Cloud Guild hadn’t sent anyone either. This wasn’t a war—too many people would just be a burden. Morgan Shangguan had no intention of letting her followers die needlessly.

"Ghostmaster..." a delicate voice called out, tinged with longing.

Morgan Shangguan couldn’t help but frown. She’d heard this voice before—the newcomer was Violet Snow, one of the Three-Colored Envoys of Rakshasa Palace.

Violet Snow had regretted missing the wedding banquet and the chance to meet Ghostmaster, but unexpectedly, the treasure map incident had brought them together again. It seemed fate kept drawing her to him!

Thinking of that one night they’d shared, Violet Snow’s cheeks flushed. Morgan Shangguan’s frown deepened; she turned away, unwilling to watch.

In reality, though, a group of little ghosts—each only waist-high to Damien Gray—stood before him, staring at their toes and trembling as one spoke: "Ghost King Boss, this is the master’s order, don’t blame me…" The words were almost tearful. After glancing up at him with reddened eyes, the little ghost looked ready to burst into tears, full of grievance—he was just born strong, after all.

The next moment, the little ghost sniffled, stuck out his foot, and stomped on Damien Gray’s foot before quickly floating away.

Damien Gray twitched his lips and glanced at Morgan Shangguan, feeling unjustly accused—there was nothing between him and that woman!

Morgan Shangguan turned her back to him, lips curling in a faint smile. She knew there was nothing between Damien Gray and Violet Snow, but Damien was so cunning—beating him fair and square was exhausting. Since she wasn’t a stickler for virtue and he didn’t resist, she’d seize the opportunity!

That counted as a small victory!

Damien Gray frowned when Morgan Shangguan ignored him, and the chill around him intensified. Sensing his displeasure, Violet Snow didn’t understand what she’d done wrong. Had Ghostmaster found a new love and no longer wanted to see her?

Her heart ached as she softly asked, "Ghostmaster... did Violet Snow do something wrong?"

Damien Gray shot Morgan Shangguan another glance, a glint in his eyes. His lips curled, then flattened as he coldly eyed the woman before him and said, "Have you ever done anything right?" Violet Snow should count herself lucky Morgan Shangguan was rational and trusted him; otherwise, her lack of self-awareness could have caused trouble, and she would’ve paid dearly for it!

Morgan Shangguan sighed inwardly—he was truly sharp-tongued! Those words could break anyone’s heart. But she wasn’t one for sympathy, so she kept an eye on Damien Gray while gazing into Healer's Sanctuary, where all she could see was a sea of green.

Lucas Lu had written to notify Galen Gu, so he should have been prepared for all these visitors. Why wasn’t there anyone to greet them? Even if he hadn’t received the letter, with so many people arriving and making such a commotion, Galen Gu should have heard by now. What did this lack of response mean?
