The next morning, as soon as dawn broke, everyone headed straight back. Evan Chu couldn’t wait another moment—he’d spent the whole night thinking about the Timewheel Bracelet.
The beast-folk chief didn’t understand why Evan Chu had come straight back. He’d wanted to ask while they were riding on Goldwing’s back, but held his tongue. Now, once they arrived home, he couldn’t help but ask:
"Great Deity, why did you come back? Aren’t you going to look for what you wanted?"
"Of course I am. But there’s something even more important I need your help with. I wonder if the chief would be willing?" Evan Chu smiled.
"Please, Great Deity, just tell me. As long as it’s something I can do, I’ll give it my all. It’s our honor to serve you." The beast-folk chief replied respectfully.
"Do you have a bracelet here? I need it right now—go and bring it to me." Evan Chu got straight to the point.
"A bracelet? I don’t think we have anything like that. Wait—what’s a bracelet?" the beast-folk chief asked.
Evan Chu almost coughed up blood—this guy didn’t even know what a bracelet was! He’d been talking for ages, only to realize he’d been wasting his breath.
But Evan Chu didn’t give up. He turned to Jenny Sima and said, "Jenny, take off your bracelet and show it to him. See if he’s got anything similar."
Jenny Sima looked at Evan Chu, full of suspicion—she had no idea why he was suddenly asking about a bracelet. Still, she took it off her wrist and said, "You’re always so mysterious. I really can’t figure you out!"
Evan Chu took the bracelet from Jenny and showed it to the beast-folk chief. "It's something like this. Think carefully—have you seen anything similar around here?"
The beast-folk chief stared at the bracelet in Evan Chu’s hand, a look of familiarity dawning on his face, but he just couldn’t recall where he’d seen it. His anxiety mounted—and Evan’s impatience was even worse.
Just then, the beast who’d led Evan Chu’s group back suddenly spoke up: "Are you looking for this thing?"
He pulled a necklace off his neck, made of some unknown material, and at the end hung a black ring—almost the same size and shape as the bracelet.
Evan Chu took it and examined it, unable to be sure if it was the right one. But the black ring looked ancient, carved with runes, making him hesitate.
"Lin Feng, that's the Timewheel Bracelet! Who would've thought someone would turn it into a necklace pendant—what a genius. But it's clearly sealed by a mysterious power. You'll need to break that seal." Luna said, her voice ringing out just in time.
"A seal? Another seal? Why do I always run into these things? Is there any way to break it?" Evan Chu grumbled, completely speechless.
"This seal is nothing special. What's with all the fuss? Just drip your blood onto it and activate it with Stellar Power. It's just a seal to keep outsiders from using it—anyone who doesn't know the truth wouldn't notice a thing." Luna said, utterly calm.
Everyone watched Evan Chu staring at the iron ring for ages, confused. Suddenly, Evan declared, "This is it. This is what I’m looking for. You’re not going to refuse me, are you?"
"If the Great Deity wants... I’ll definitely give it to you!" the beast-folk stammered.
Evan Chu could only sigh at the stammer, but still managed a "Thank you!" Then he turned to the beast-folk chief: "We still need to go back to that place. You’re getting older, so you don’t need to come. We’ll be back in a few days."
"Alright, Great Deity, you must be careful—back there used to be extremely dangerous." the beast-folk chief said, worry written all over his face.
"Got it. Goldwing, Jenny, Macy—let’s move!"
Evan Chu and the others jumped onto Goldwing’s back and soared away, vanishing from the beast-folk’s sight in a flash.
"Lin Feng, why do you want that bracelet? Do you really have a way to break the restriction over there?" Jenny Sima asked, her eyes sharp.
"Yeah, this bracelet is the key to breaking that restriction. You’ll understand soon enough!" Evan Chu didn’t reveal that it was the Timewheel Bracelet—some things are better kept secret, even from his lover.
It wasn’t long before they reached the foot of the mountain cliff. Evan Chu didn’t rush to break the seal on the Timewheel Bracelet, instead scanning the area—he kept feeling like someone was watching him.
After a while, Evan Chu said, "Check the area for beast-folk. I’m about to break the seal on this bracelet—don’t let anyone disturb me."
The truth was, Evan Chu didn’t want anyone seeing the scene when he broke the seal on the Timewheel Bracelet. This could become his ultimate trump card, and no one could know about it.
Jenny Sima didn’t say a word and left quietly. Goldwing and Macy followed, leaving Evan Chu alone on the rock.
No time to waste—Evan Chu quickly took the Timewheel Bracelet out of his storage ring and placed it on the stone. Since breaking the seal needed his blood, he drew Frostbane as well.
Evan Chu sliced open his finger, letting blood drip down. But every time, the wound healed almost instantly—the Third Layer of Starforge Body at work.
He remembered nearly bleeding out hatching Shadow—hopefully this time wouldn’t be as bad. Gritting his teeth, he rolled up his sleeve and slashed his wrist hard with Frostbane.
The wound was deep, almost to the bone, but only a few drops of blood trickled out—no flood, just slow drips.
Evan Chu saw his blood was faintly dark yellow instead of pure red—strange, but there was no time to dwell on it. He had to break the seal, fast.
After about a minute, the cut on his wrist healed. Evan Chu had to slice it open again and again—dozens of times on both wrists before the Timewheel Bracelet finally began to tremble.
"Lin Feng, inject Stellar Power into it," Luna instructed.
Evan Chu had used most of his Stellar Power on the scroll last night, so all he could inject now was Chaos Qi. Chaos Qi was so much higher in quality than Stellar Power—it had to work even better, he thought.
As soon as Chaos Qi poured into the Timewheel Bracelet, it trembled even more violently, banging against the stone.
"Go all out—pour everything into it and suppress the bracelet completely! No wonder it’s shaking so much—you’re using Chaos Qi," Luna said, a hint of awe in her voice.
Evan Chu didn’t say a word, driving his Earth Star Pellet at full force, flooding the bracelet with Chaos Qi. He had no idea how long it lasted—when the Timewheel Bracelet finally stopped trembling, half his Chaos Qi was gone.
Suddenly, the Timewheel Bracelet erupted with blinding white light that shot onto the cliff wall—a glowing diagram appeared before Evan Chu.
The diagram clearly displayed coordinates and instructions for breaking the restriction. Evan Chu memorized every detail with all his strength...
